Hi All, have been reading for a while as used to have a mk3 VRS estate but never got around to signing up as spent a few years in a 3 series since then Picked this up a few days ago and very impressed with the newer model so far
  2. had new car prep done at local detailers Inspired Automotive in Wakefiled as usual from them an absolutely stunning job, machine polish and ceramic coated i have a couple of photos, they have uploaded this vid to Youtibe and he is sending over some better photos that i will share later on when i get them
  3. Czechoslovakian Special Edition - note the car in the top post has left hand drive! https://www.aaaauto.eu/en/skoda-fabia/car.html?id=378055936

Just to clarify, was referring more to the engine characteristics of the M5 in my post, but the suspension and overall driving dynamic combined meant the car was always a handful and not particularly relaxing as was often portrayed in the media . Not necessarily a negative depending on your needs,as a weekend thrill it could be fantastic, but the UK roads just don't let you exploit its performance safely or legally, and it was not really track car although great drift machine if you could afford the tyres and brakes. Think something like the relatively new BMW 340 touring are the sweetspot of space and performance, but look at the price in comparison to the 272 Superb. So my thought Is to look at stage 1 tune and possibly suspension tweak to the Superb, give the 340 s good run for lot less money and really like the ' sleeper' aspect. Plenty of fun to be had at the expense of supposedly more desirable marques me thinks
  5. Here's a Polish one - doesn't have the external graphics but does have the red seat belts as seen in the red one: https://www.olx.pl/oferta/skoda-fabia-sport-line-1-4-z-klimatyzacja-CID5-IDIoCTw.html#e012128894

Revo do a stage 2 now for the 272. With the inter cooler and intake replaced it’s something like a claimed 400bhp dependant on fuel. I’ll wait until my warranty’s expired first though. Something like an R600 intake with intake pipe and elbow would be more cost effective than the revo carbon version.
  9. If I'm honest, I tried that setting everyone was so excited about back when I had my MK7 Clubsport and the change was at best imperceptible and at worst a placebo. There'd been a debate also about if it actually does what people think it does given that the coding is found in a module that does not impact engine or throttle response but I guess if it works for you... No idea about Diesels but on the 280/272 Petrol a pedal box absolutely transforms throttle response it's shocking how badly it is mapped as OEM. Change is so significant I am unable to drive the car stock again, feels like something below the pedal is seriously broken
  10. Hi Guys I have just got my car back which has been with my dealership since 30th November 2020. They advised me just before Christmas that they had found the leak which was the seal on the windscreen and they had replaced it but there were some parts required which were out of stock and would probably not arrive from Germany until the new year, as apart from low stocks there was the issue at the docks and things just weren't getting through. Both Brexit and Covid had now taken over and the timescale which was originally quoted was now not possible. The parts required were a full set of carpets with underlay, a headlining and various pieces of trim. I received a call mid January to say that the car would be ready by Thursday but as the weather was so appalling I advised I would collect on Friday morning. Next day I received a call to advise that the storm we had over night had brought down branches and damaged three cars in their carpark, one being mine and the new windscreen had a crack in it and would need to be replaced. The following week I got the call to say that it was ready to collect, but on arrival I found that they had damaged the car during the work and had scratched the drivers door sill and gouged the centre console obviously when they put the seat back in. I also found that the windscreen fitter had not put the clips back holding the scuttle trim which was flapping and there were grubby hand prints on various parts of the trim. I was not best pleased but I give the customer service manager his due, he did not hesitate to promise that it would all be fixed and booked the car in the following week. I have to say that I collected it on Monday and it was like a new car as they had even polished it. Now not wishing to be pessimistic but we have not had heavy rain this week so I have no idea if this work has cured the leak. Other people have had the same work done and days later were just as wet inside as before. Fingers crossed!!!!!!! Now I would like to offer my two penith to anyone who is about to buy a new Karoq as this experience has not been much fun but I have learned a lot along the way. We had and 2014 Octavia 1.2 before which we loved but due to having two knee replacements I was finding it difficult to get in and out of which is why we looked at the Karoq. Both my wife and I found it to be instantly comfortable and in fact better than the VW Tiguan and decided to purchase. I feel that I made a bit of a mistake when speccing the car as I turned down the 1.0 TSI model being sure that it was not powerful enough for such a heavy car and as they had a 1.5 SEL DSG in stock with 'Virtual dashboard', electric tailgate and various other extras which someone else had ordered but then cancelled it meant that I would not have to wait for my car to be built. Now I have not been a fan of the 1. 5 TSI engine in my car as I find it a little noisy and harsh particularly when pulling away from cold, tends to use more oil than I would like and is not partcularly economical even though I am a gentle driver, but I have learnt that this engine varies a lot and when you get a good one they are very good. As I have been without my car since 30th of November I have had several courtesy cars during that time. The 1st was a new 1.5 TSI Golf with only a couple of hundred miles on the clock and the engine in that car was night and day different to mine. I did not like that car though as I struggled to get in and out so they replaced it with a Karoq 1.0 TSI manual just before Christmas - What a revelation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe how smooth this little engine was and to be honest I struggled to tell the difference when driving, as it had plenty of acceleration, but the huge difference was the economy -58 mpg WOW!!! I took it on a 250 mile round trip to deliver Christmas presents ( socially distanced ) and was amazed how good it was on the motorway it had plenty of power and would overtake just as easily as my 1.5. The only time I noticed a small difference was on a very long hill in Devon where I did need to change down to 5th keep the speed up to 60 mph. I would definitely recommend this 1.0 TSI engine if you don't do thousands of miles and drive mainly in town - it's a cracker!!! Fast forward to when I discovered that my car had been damaged and they then gave me a 1.5TSI Octavia as they didn't have a Karoq. This was a beautiful top of the range car and again the engine was like the Golf in that it was smooth, quiet and very punchy. I can only think that they have updated this unit and sorted some of the issues with the earlier ones, The only thing was once again I found it difficult to get in and out so although I have been disappointed with my Karoq, it was nice to get it back and realise that it is comfortable, Other things I have discovered though is that I prefer the suspension on the Octavia as it hardly notices the rough roads around my village whereas the Karoq is very hard ( probably to stop it rolling on the corners ) which makes it very noisy over the bumps in comparison and can be skittish on rough surfaces. When I learned how much I had lost over the not quite two years I have had the Karoq it has made me rethink getting rid of it. At the moment we are not going anywhere and it's just not worth throwing more money at cars to just sit there losing value. I still prefer the interior of the Karoq to any other SUV on the market so for now it will probably stay. Sorry to drone on but I hope my experiences over the last ten weeks may help someone to make up their minds what they really want or need. It shows you really need to have a test drive for longer than just round the block and be very sure what you are buying, I will come back again if I still have a leak!!!!!!!!!!! Regards David
  11. Morning all. I shall picking up a set of the above mentioned mk4 golf recaros in the coming weeks. I've searched for info on adding the heated element but to no avail. My question is.. Has anyone fitted them with the original Octavia Mk1 heated switch using the Golf mk4 wiring looms that are available? Are they a straight plug and play or could the mk1 heated loom fit the seats? Cheers
  12. Its mib 2 sorry, I writed wrong
  13. I watched that video, I'm a subscriber to his channel. Interesting that Tesla routing is prioritising less stops over quicker route. ABRP is the way to go it seems. The newer 2021 octovalve heatpump Model 3 should be even more efficient.
  14. Found the two settings and we have lift off. Thanks for the pointer 👍
  15. There are some truly ill-informed sheep in this chat. 1) the emissions caused from mining the rare metals for one Telsa are greater than the emissions created in the production and lifetime usaged (including oil drilling, refining, and transportation) of the average post 2009 petrol vehicle. This is not even considering the emissions created from producing or recharging a Tesla throughout its lifetime. Nor the emissions created to safely dispose of the HIGHLY toxic batteries. This is just the emissions just from mining a small portion of the materials. This is due to 2 reasons: a)95% come from China or other third world countries which don't regulate the mining emissions or have to abide by international eco treaties. b) metals are extremely rare and or hard to mine due to their natural deep and thin layering in the earth's surface. 2) Removing an EGR valve over the average 15 year lifespan of a petrol vehicle, equates to 3% of the total emission created by the reduced MPG. So appreciate all your eco warriors who think you're support a just cause, but your on the wrong side of the battle for the time being....you're on corporate government side and regurgitating lies. I'm happy to share all studies which support this. I'm an electrical engineer so it's obviously not in my interest but can't stand the false sense of eco heroism these lies are creating. Don't be sheep and just repeat what you heard on BBC or CNN, be better than that and educate yourselves.
  16. The designer of the next gen 4 series has said he felt that the car had to split opinions. They wanted to do something different. I suspect the fact that the Chinese love big grills had more to do with the styling than they would like to admit
  17. Was the fuse, all fixed now and the glove box isn't as hard to take out and put back in as I initially thought.

Well as a rule of thumb I generally never believe a word the dealers say to me
  19. On a personal level, I have no objections to occasional posts that are purely links, most do it including myself, but endless link posting kills threads and shows a lack of commitment and effort to the forum. I've posted in the past that I would prefer that 'link posters' refrained from any thread I start, but it falls on deaf ears... or eyes... or something like that. How hard is it to actually put your fingers on a keyboard and bother to put a tiny bit of effort into constructing a 'real' post occasionally? Maybe we are dealing with a form of 'bot'??? Even in his own threads I checked one and the last 8 post where pure links, not a single words of text.
  20. Damn, I said the wrong one didn't I It's 03G 906 051E
  21. I think it will do if you can't find any other sensor in the intake.
  22. 04C 906 051 03G 906 051E is the one you probably need if it's got the temp sensor built in. Yeah, am thinking that too.
  23. I don't know why I bother sometimes. I don't normally see certain posts, but against better judgement thought I'd read a couple. I already posted an actual description of my link (not a 'cant be ar$ed to bother writing any actual content myself) and in it described my link as part of a series. But to have a 'mere' link posted from the series that I had already gone to the trouble to describe, is salt in the wound. Looks like back to the ignore list...
  24. The advantage of the Connect Lite app is that it is free once you've bought the dataplug, while the My Skoda app required you to subscribe to the Remote Access service after the first year. If you don't need all the functions this provides then the Connect Lite app is a cheaper alternative! I already have the dataplug from my old Golf, so will probably switch to Connect Lite when my first year's licence for Remote Access expires (I hadn't tried using them both ) Chris
  25. I am a bit in to computers and used to work in the area. I agree with everything said here but one thing that one must consider is the manufacturing process. Please don't underestimate the importance of the manufacturing process on the discussion amd vs intel. AMD is using 7nm whilst Intel is still on 14nm. This mean the actual size of the die inside the CPU is much bigger in the intel, meaning it will generate more heat and when under load it will reduce its own speed to stay cool (unless you go in to water cooling). Specially considering you are aiming for a small computer case, heat management is of high importance and AMD is just plain better. I would go with the 3600 (or the 3500 if you are on a tight budget) unless your budget can stretch to the 5600x. Please also don't forget you can pair a 3600 or 5600x with a B450 motherboard without much of a performance degradation. reasonable good ITX MB can be found for <£100 e.g. https://www.cclonline.com/product/258109/B450I-GAMING-PLUS-AC/Motherboards/MSI-B450I-GAMING-PLUS-AC-AMD-Socket-AM4-B450-Chipset-Mini-ITX-Motherboard/MBD2484/
  26. The service check intervals are listed on the invoice, giving a mileage that I should have them done at. There are 2 other checks further on, 6k and 12k. The checks are free.
  27. Hi all Been on this forum for a number of years now, but only just found this part of the forum. I have been riding since 1994, and have ahd a full license since 1995, a full year before I got a car license. So I am well versed in bikes. I have never taken a break due to "family commitments" and "getting married", or any of that other stuff. I don't anything new, but I look after what I do have, and they are. A 2001 Yamaha Thunderace, an 11 plate Triumph Tiger 800 XC, and an 06 Yamaha WR250F, which is road legal for green laning. Hope to visit here a bit more often
  28. I have a 2017 vRS 245 with a stage 2 remap 333.6 bhp. Done at Indigo GT in South Wales. Complete new Milltek Exhaust with Cast Downpipe , Race Cat, New Induction, Ecutek stage 2 remap including DSG. Even had a M140i driver catch me up and ask “what the hell have you done to that ?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Decrease, yes.
  30. I have a call in with my local service department so hoping to find out if I can do anything about it soon, for now I will make do with pressing Mode and choosing Individual each time Canton is pretty good, I had a mk3 with no Canton and it was terrible (to be clear before that I had BMWs with Harmon Kardon so like bass in the car and not comparing to base stereos and also a misspent youth putting multiple 15" subs in RS Turbos and GTIs so my expectations are high) The Canton in the MK4 is good but probably not as good as the 3 series Harmon Kardon from a bass point of view, to be fair that had two small subs under the seats vs the Skoda having it in the spare wheel well so wasn't expecting the same, the way I look at it the standard is lacking a lot (in my opinion) so I would have been disappointed if I had not added the Canton and it will no doubt improve as it is run in and loosens up
  31. Thanks @JR RS. I actually had a powerflex insert in my old car (2.0tdi dsg) that I really enjoyed having fitted. The GTE is a different beast. Gear change is so smooth due to the ev motor helping with rev matching. The main reason I want it is to tighten up the front end and to remove some of the slop when transitioning from ev to hybrid mode. I already have the part so it's no cost (any longer) just need to find the time to climb under the car.
  32. Just collected my VRS and the actuator is louder than my old mk3 even in Normal mode, I have turned it of in Individual, does anyone know how to make the car start up in individual mode or remember the last drive mode
  33. Hi, hopefully you can download this pdf file. Keeping the car dry during the treatment and 'less is more' Captain Tolley's (i.e lots of small doses) is critical to success. Yeti Panoramic Roof Leak.pdf
  34. @newbie69 I literally took his meaning as the ride being harsh but yes it could mean what you said too. Also agree that the performance at that level is a bit too much and that is from my experience driving the last gen CLS63 around at Mercedes Benz world. 550hp ish IIRC and I was thinking to myself, this is way too much for normal driving, possibly even on a nice windy road. They are also way too big and heavy for track unless one owns a tyre and brake shop...
  35. you can easily remove the lag when pulling away with a dsg, and no need to use sport mode. vcds or obd 11 - steering assist - adaptations - driving profile switchover - change incremental to direct pulls away like a manual box now
  36. Hi mate! Thanks for the compliment on the country. If you come to SCL, let me know. I will post more content as soon as the customs let in the goods! Thats a maaaaad fabia you have sir!
  37. The dealers use Quantum oil it is one of the cheapest options available at £30 for 5 litres and that's even buying retail, trade price is lower.
  38. Not much exciting just changed the drivers side engine mount now all three are pretty new, it was still original at 15 years old
  39. Here's a photo of the Creations Motorsport blanking plate, it wasn't as much as the Forge version but seems to be good quality. Don't do what I did though and drop the tiny o ring when trying to fit the plate. There was much swearing at that point but eventually I found the ring and fitted it correctly. Also, I had to pop to VW this morning for a temp sensor o ring. The one that came off yesterday must have been squashed out of shape over the last 18 years so didn't seal correctly. Coolant was weeping out from around the sensor when the car was up to temperature. A new o ring and clip seem to have sorted it out.
  40. Today was spent deleting the SAI. It went well for the most part but there were a few stumbling blocks. I had to dismantle the pump to remove it as there wasn't enough room to wiggle it out in one piece. The top bolt holding the bracket on was a pain to get to as was removing the SAI combi valve - I hadn't realised there was a second 10mm bolt holding it in place at the back along with the hard pipes. Apart from that and losing about 2l of coolant it was reasonably straightforward. I ran out of daylight to take some final pics but did get one of the parts I removed.

I have ordered mine on 8th February: rs dsg hb, quartz grey + canton + memory seats(900$ option) keyless entry, dealer estimates 3-6 months I thought canton and memory seats are a must options so i had to order car since there was none in region with these options. Since this is my first time ordering car, this seems a long wait, hopefully worth at the end.
  42. EBC. Never use anything else on my own vehicles.
  43. Just wrapped the car to make it looks a little special: the small corner on rear door (IDK how to call it), and the buttom parts of all the doors (under the original black trim) . The blacked corner makes the rear window and door looks longer than before. It gives the car a kind of 4 door couple proportion. But on the other hand, it looks a bit strange, especially on a close look. I'm still not sure whether to keep it. The wrap on the buttom of doors is quite subtle, but it does make a quite nice contrast. I like it very much.
  44. My understanding is that: The floor cover will be raised slightly, approximately 2-3cm. You could compensate for this by adding something around the edges of the cover You have to butcher the foam insert a bit to get it to sit in the wheel
  45. Hello, I made an account to reply to the owners not getting their AA wireless to work. My 2021 Octavia got delivered last week. And i'm in the same boat. But I got a lot of info today from Skoda. So the wireless option is only available on the Units ending on D and E with SW 1788. In other words, the vehicles PRODUCED after 23 nov 2020. Mine has 06 nov as date of birth. But i'm not leaving it like this, it was offered as a function when I ordered the car and it is described in the manual of 07/2020. I'll keep you guys posted! Kinds regards from Belgium, Wes
  46. That from looks like something out of frogger. Something eating, hungry about it, Pokemon-esq id still have it over the bmw grill, which doubles up as a bbq grill.
