  1. Oil light flashing is your first, most important issue here, doubt it relates to the ABS fault. Is there a beeping noise too? This is a red light, right? Not the coolant level one? An oil can picture? Have you found the oil pressure switch? Is the wire intact? Is the connector clean and dry on the inside? Photo of the strip fuses please. And have you checked the blade fuses to the side of them, under a cover? Never known there to be a real ABS pump problem; fuse or wire/connection damage well worth ruling out extremely thoroughly first.
  2. I called Skoda....the helpful customer service desk sent me email below (told me the recommended intervals were removed July 1st 2023), which says both time and mileage based intervals are no longer given. The website still says 5 years. Wow.... So it's not even 10, 15 years, or 200k miles.... What about the people who spent £1k on this....or all those who spent anything on this? If I had the money I would have done it. Relieved but not happy tbh, or am I missing something.
  3. Hello Steeveeg,Perfectly normal. Its like the old days when you would use the choke on a cold engine. Moderen cars do it automatically now, will drop revs as car heats up.So in short nothing to worry over.Cheers Andy
  4. So today 1941 arrived, by dealer. Still not officially available in my country, but they found it on portal and my native language is present, no comment... Looking good for now, very responsive and fast.
  5. Personally i would leave it as is three weeks is not a long time to park a car up it will be fine 👍
  6. I had my 15 plate 1.4TSI done at 5 years for the same reason. For me the extra cost due to the ACT version of the EA211 makes Skoda UK's position even harder to understand or accept.
  7. No it isn't toot. It shows - for the petrol engine, no specified interval. That's why I triple ringed it to make it clear! Please be more careful, it sems to be you that's misreading.
  8. @rumburake 210,000 km / 130,000 miles shown here. ('Dust rich countries 120,000 km') This is the issue, so many numbers around on-line quoting something some has seen, or mi-read / mis-heard. Karoq.
  9. I looked in the Maintenance book from erwin-skoda, doc subscription number D4B802A2B38, edition 10.2017. In section 2.4.4 - "Additional work from MY 2017" - the table says "Replace the toothed belt for camshaft drive - petrol engines with toothed belt": - "Operation in normal weather and traffic conditions (low-dust countries)": "-" (no mileage or time interval specified) - "Dust-rich countries": "Every 120,000 km" (no time interval specified) If anyone got hold of a newer edition of this book please check.
  10. Not so much what I've done to my Superb rather what it's done for me. I've driven over 2,000km through France and the car has done everything asked of it. I tried to think of something that it could have done better and couldn't think of much. It'd benefit from Bilstein B6s and self levelling shocks at the back would be nice but other than that it's been great. 5.63 l/100km or 50mpg measured brim to brim fully loaded on premium diesel. The weather has been favourable so it looks reasonably clean considering.
  11. Hi, I had the chance to replace someone who could not go to Le Mans Classic last week-end. I saw the first Skoda Sport (1,2l engine) I had ever seen. It was a MY 1949 : Really amazed by the very simple design of the cooling system : Tank, straight brass/copper (?) pipes, radiator (+ fan), that's it !
  12. TV images are showed in loop and frighten many people. It's now almost "as before". The most nerving is that these guys don't have an ounce of brain. They've wrecked some schools or libraries, and sometimes burnt their own neighbors' car. Pure free ans blind violence... 🙄 They don't even realize, they're punishing their own friends, families, relatives, etc. who now don't have school or library anymore. It will take months / years to rebuild them. Some neighbors or relatives won't be able to go to work and may lose their job, now they've lost their car... 😬
  13. Might, could be, maybe in the future. Sometime down the line. Once there are these vehicles on the roads, many of which have more safety features. (Safety features are more tech, more to go wrong, but that is as in all Euro 7 vehicles coming soon.) But is it actually now costing more to the insurance underwriters, and what are the numbers of BEV,s, PHEV,s and mild hybrids being written off because of bodywork repairs and how many are requiring new or replacement batteries? I posted about his vid the other week on ULEZ,s in Scotland and said he might want to visit Dundee and see where the zone is and just how it will affect traffic in the zone. It is hurts me to link his video,s just because it brings in more money for him.
  14. how do i do that? I can only say how for a 2020 Skoda Kamiqand you appear to have a 2015 Octavia.
  15. …What? This is getting ridiculous, there was supposed to have been an announcement fired off to all of the VAG dealerships July 1st so there should be a new set interval and now they’ve come back with this? I had already had it pretty much confirmed the 1.5 TSI ACT is 180,000 miles or 15 years. Seems we’re no closer to getting a definitive answer as it seems to be anything plucked from thin air on the day…
  16. ^^^ @Warrior193I seriously doubt that has anything to do with any insurance increases. Who was it that compiled this report with the suggestion about the BEV & Hybrids? The Daily Mail by any chance. I see that some Insurance companies are getting it told as it is about ripping off customers when their vehicles are damaged and written off. 'Offering a price lower than the car's fair market value after it has been written off, which is against FCA rules. Relevant firms have been told to put these wrongs right and where necessary provide redress to affected customers'. About time as well. They should be named, shamed fined / penalised.
  17. I left my 1.4TSI Octavia in the long term car park at Heathrow airport for 3 weeks when the battery was 4 years old, started with no issues on my return.
  18. Thank you bud Received the unit today Installed and all working Very pleased
  19. Hopefully a loose connection. Is it in warranty? If not, ask an automotive electrician to have a look? Worse case, it might need a new seat base plus motors etc. My passenger seat was making odd noises on being moved back (was fine forwards and up/down) as if the motor was on the way out, and Skoda replaced the whole seat base. Good luck.
  20. Watch the ausie video and read the comments its on there
  21. Boy o boy, there's helpful and then there's this response from customner services.
  22. About time. Thanks for getting confirmation of this.
  23. I told my local garage to skip fault finding (I tested fuse, confirmed voltage exist ) and just swap the module. They charged me an hour's labour at 62quid incl. Fair charge IMO. Total time probably like half hour but at that point, I was happy it's all working and I can get it to MOT retest.
  24. The dealers I spoke to said the cost is subsidised (from £1200), could be bull of course. UK isn't dust rich, most of Europe isn't dust rich. I think we need a which? campaign, or money saving expert guy on this! It stinks like the emissions hoohaa again. I also want to "protect" my warranty but this is so damn expensive....would be really nice to have proper clarity.
  25. No. I see a red x. Don't you...?
  26. There always seems to be MK2 estates coming up on Facebook, whether prices and conditions are good enough is a different story though. Does the MK2 have independent suspension or is it torsion beam like the base models? I'm just about to go to these, my experience of B4s is they are basically OE equivalent. Not sure on the springs, but my general experience is the bigger the drop the less comfort there is. I can't deal with rigid lowered cars anymore either. I went in a mates 500 Abarth which is lowered and I couldn't believe how hard it was. I don't live in a particularly bad area for potholes but occasionally have to use country roads so want something practical too. Changing tyre profile can help massively, same with arch gap I find and going from 225 to 235 width made a difference to how the wheel looked in the arch.
  27. I am doing one of my longest trip tomorrow, about 135 miles from Worcester to Southampton to board a cruise ship to Norway, hoping I still have 50 to 100 miles of miles left so I can easily find a rapid DC charger or highish output AC charger somewhere on the 135 mile journey home. With all the warm weather ie above 15 C, the Zoe should be getting it maximum 240 mile range or so, as long as I do not sustain over 60 mph for too long stints on the A roads and motorways down to the port. Get all the tyres up to 40 psi with all the luggage too. Zoe is still up with the best of small cars if not the leader on looks or even seat comfort as the no height adjustment on the seat is a bug bear. Will miss her when she has gone but after 21 months, with 27 month to go, generally pleased with my choice. currently showing 212 miles range, son who hates the eco button been driving it, but charge said it still had an hour or two to complete, it will show 100% charge all the time but it will commence battery balancing process and should creep up another 10 or 20 miles. e-corsa and mini and better lookers, unless one actually like goof French looks of the Zoe but other features score well. George, hope your last days with the e-corsa go well and the mini is as trouble free as possible in its stint with you.
  28. Yes. We thought long & hard about what EV to get. I never buy new cars so it had to be a used EV funded by the proceeds from the sale of the Karoq + a small amount of savings. I found a dealer who specialises in ex-mobility Kona's & went for a facelifted 22 plate Kona Ultimate with only 2,300 miles on it for a good price which I will pick up on Saturday. I know EV's are supposed to be pretty quick off the line but I was genuinely surprised how fast the little Kona was - especially in Sport mode. My wife will use it in Eco+ mode all the time but it's nice to now it can shift if needed. We'll just have to watch those front tyres, especially in the wet!! Our solar panels got installed earlier this year & I've been watching how much excess solar has been going back to the grid after the battery & hot water have all been topped up. Now it can go into the car - at least during the summer months.
  29. Yeah had my 67 plate 1.4 done at 5 years but not sure if it was really necessary although I do have an extended warranty so likely a get out clause should anything have failed during this period. We need to get back to chains.
  30. For me the real issue, which has been mentioned on here for many years, is why Skoda UK say 5 years or 50,000 miles when the advice from all other importers and the manufacturer specifies much longer time and/or distance intervals? Seems to me that Skoda UK are intent on making unnecessary business for their franchised dealers since the environment in the UK really cannot be so extreme - can it???
  31. This has been mentioned before on this forum. However, I had the same issue so removed the switch, took it apart (carefully!) and cleaned with spray contact cleaner. Put back together and all working fine.
  32. My wife has the Kona EV 6A kWh and it's excellent. A very good choice and with a 5 year warranty a comfort to know they have faith in the underlying fundamentals. If you have solar panels it's a no brainer choice. Enjoy....
  33. I spent a few days in Paris last week. I saw some graffiti and the public transport system closed at 9pm but other than that, there was nothing untoward in the main areas and queues for the attractions were as long as ever. The trouble seems to be restricted to the more disadvantaged areas of some cities, especially now that the public transport system isn’t running at night which makes it harder for troublemakers to spread unrest. There’s a lot of discussion on French television about it but it’s a lot less dramatic than the images on some TV and social media reports

I fitted B6 a couple of years ago on my 2.0 TDI Combi and I noticed exactly what I wanted: More body control on high speeds but no harshness at all. I was very surprised with that, as I have a Mini R53 fitted with Eibach + Bilstein B8 and it is very fun, but very rigid and harsh, too much for a daily use. It's my weekend toy so this is not a problem. The B6 in the Skoda were, to my surprise, even too soft. I mean my wife didn't even notice something had been changed on the car.
  35. It was same for me on old sw's. On new ones ac button takes you to last please you visited. Can't tell which one was first "new", old is def 1668.
  36. You have to swap your existing speaker to the new regulator panel as new ones don't come with speakers. There are four pop rivets holding the speaker to the panel & ten rivets (bolts were used on early models) holding the panel to the door. These have to be drilled out and new rivets fitted. Suitable short nuts and bolts can be used for the speaker instead of rivets if preferred - they must be short enough for the glass not to catch on them. Speaker rivets: Size 4.8x15mm. Part number N90765701 Door panel rivets: Size 6.4x10mm. Part number N91078801
  37. I think there needs to be some clarity over what's meant by getting the full brakes replaced. Calipers? Hoses? Cylinders? Fluids? If the idea is to replace all the friction materials (pads and shoes) then that's not a bad idea. Also the front disks might not be a bad idea as they are cheap enough. All that is achievable by a home mechanic for about £170 using proper Brembo parts. Add about £30 for the fluids if you want to change them. Then double it if you want an independent to do it And double it again for a main dealer.
  38. Take care @varooom... Hope things pan out and you make it back.
  39. Make a folder called MEN3_EU_SK370_P9494P and copy the file folders into that folder, worked for me
  40. My renewals in, up from £335 to £624! We had a Freelander until early April, trading it in for our Karoq Sportline. At the time we paid a minimal amount upon transfer so I assumed the change in the vehicles wouldn’t greatly affect the premium upon renewal. Clearly wrong. So went on line to run the usual searches and not much joy, no significant decreases anywhere. We have a linked buildings/contents policy which I hoped might afford me some bargaining power. Called insurer who without little effort dropped the car premium down from £624 to £484! Home policy dropped from £205 to £189. Still a few weeks to renewal so holding off payment, may call again nearer the time to see if they really are their final figures 🤞 It seems that premiums have gone up across the board yet the insurers can still reduce the renewal at the drop of a hat. Must be recovering the saving I’ve been offered from some gullible punter who simply pays what’s asked 🤔
  41. If you change your cambelt every 5 years, you are taking a risk that someone will fit a poor quality cambelt, or mess up the engine by doing the job incorrectly. So even the cautious approach isn't risk free.
  42. Didn't have this issue on 1986, it was remembering that I want it to be open on classic AC. Have this again on 1668. So I guess you might have an old software.
  43. What firmware do you have? It might be worth an upgrade.

Battery doesn't really matter on a petrol and auto makes no difference so why spend more than you have to, as long as it physically fits in the box then it'll be just fine.
  45. Why would they be even the slightest bit interested in a fault on a 7 year old vehicle?
  46. Well, I had a Nissan Qashqai as loan car while mine was being assessed, I had it for 2 months and I would say that the level of interaction with that was dangerous at least for the first few times of it kicking in, completely the opposite to how the system operates on my current car. Given the state of Britain's roads at the moment, when the Qashqai system kicked in it would vibrate and the feel of that is similar to driving on a really rough road with loads of smaller potholes so you tend to grip the wheel firmer. Then the car would make violent course corrections to try and keep you in lane, which has the effect of the driver then starts to fight it and the car can be seen wobbling as the driver and the system battle each other. Once you are aware of it and how to set it up, you can disable the vibration and then it makes more sense as it will still steer you back into lane safely and because you are not then confusing it with bad road surface, takes control of the steering smoothly, just as it does in the Superb.
  47. Hi Paul, will send a message in a couple of hours. Out and about just now.
  48. Hello Pete 🙂 I have a 2007 Skoda Roomster 1.9, with windows that don't move (stuck in the up posn). I have replaced the drivers side loom which had a couple of severed wires adjacent to the door post. Still not working. Have power to the window armature and module, but not working. Armature and brushes look fine. This is as far as I can go. Module Temic 440775X / 401350A8 Motor 6Y1959801 Reading your post and recommendations from others I would be interested in your £50 exchange module and motor exchange service. Please advise your address so I can send my unit to you. Kind Regards Paul
  49. https://ecologi.com/briskoda I cannot believe I've not done this for over a year... and a half. Where does the time go? Like honestly where did it go... Added 1k trees to cover of ffreedom subs and other stuff as outlined with a bit of rounding up quite a bit, but 414 seemed like a naff number. https://ecologi.com/briskoda?tileId=647b3e30f10746587a7353d2 Just passed 10k trees. Now to figure out the last few months...
