  2. Just ordered a large microfibres drying cloth from Amazon, back to the tried and trusted old ways😁
  3. I’ve been using autogym which Richmond Skoda gave me Also wash it 1st thing in the morning
  4. Absolutely! Living in Hampshire with very hard water I end up with limescale type marks all over my dark coloured car after a wash. Very frustrating as I hardly noticed it with the previous silver coloured car. Given that my kettle still suffers with limescale build up even though I use a water filter I'd suggest they wouldn't be any good for the car either. Instead I use a silicone squeegee blade (loads on amazon) to wipe off the worst then a microfibre cloth to remove the final few drips. Works a treat; alas more work ☹️ The price we pay for tasty hard water (or where we choose/have to live).
  5. Seems easy enough for even someone not that bright. You would behave differently. Like with a petrol or diesels. You would put in energy / fuel before getting home. No point rolling up to your home in the ICE vehicle with 10 miles range in the nearest fuel station is 15 miles from you. There are people that do live 15 miles or more from fuel stations or ones not 24 hours. PS. Yes Public Chargers can be Russian Roulette. In my case it is the Council Chargers near that can be crap. 1/4 of a mile away at the Gulf Filling station there is the very very reliable but expensive InstaVolt charger i have only tried out but not used since. It is a location location location thing really for drivers, and head for thinking and feet for dancing.
  6. He doesn't seem anxious to me. 🙂 He knows what the car is capable of due to the miles he puts in. I've arrived home with less than 5% on several occasions but probably would not go as low as he does, just because I know I need 2-3% to make it up the hills to my house. Having a charger waiting at home is a very comforting thing.
  7. I'm not sure that's a 'pixel error' - I believe it's the display indicating the possible source of the error, similar to the wheels being highlighted (except in red) when the TPMS flags pressure loss.
  8. Yes indeed haha, I paid £1000 for it, but owning/driving now for a few weeks I realise it's flawless.
  9. We really are into Tin Foil hat territory now. Is that the MAINSTREAM MEDIA? Are they gagged in the Western World. Who by is it that President of the USA, or his Best Buddy, Elon, or his ex buddy, Sir Rupert Murdoch? There will be a new Chinese owned EV Battery factory come near to some in Europe very soon. Onward and upwards, maybe up in flames.
  10. If looking at the 1.6 petrol MK2 Fabia, just be aware of how much they are in road tax due to the high co2 output.

Weirdly not a sad moment when I handed the keys back to the dealer After 15 months, I finally managed to get Skoda to agree my vehicle rejection for the 12v battery issue Having logged every time it happened since the beginning of the year (26) one battery change less than a month ago and then the dealer reporting 19 further issues I am now the owner of a 2 1/2 year old Karoq sportline
  12. The screen fault isn't a fault, it's showing where the fault is by highlighting the engine/gearbox shape. A degradation in the battery could be the cause, you won't know until you get it checked. When you say failed stop/start is it always activated, what happens if it's turned off does the fault still appear?
  13. Likewise, Autoglym here too; and yes, never wash when the car bodywork is hot, nor in full sun. I usually try for an overcast day and early on in the day.
  14. I remeber that I saw this combination. I tried to set it and take a photo to you, but to be honest, there is no option to do it so. It is an annoying bug for me. Once I set the navigation then stop the car for a short period of time without locking the doors, at restart the navi came into the left hand panel, and there is no way to remove it. I have to cancel the route in the Waze and set it again to have off. So end of the day, yes it is possible, but it is a bug. p.s.: The real speed limit was 110 km/h on that section, but the skoda speed limit recognition is simply useless...
  15. I live in Gosport so not so hard but do use a drying towel after washing my Enyaq Another tip don’t use cheap car shampoo
  16. Hi everyone, Been a long long time, I'm back in an octy, and a belter at 72k miles and PD 105. Was a spare car for a mansion house and sat in a garage most of the time. Serviced every year with MOT, and clutch/fly with timing belt done just last year. I've remapped it, bringing the torque curve to peak at 2k and she is pushing 260lbs and 155bhp. EGR off and 4.2k limiter.
  17. Yes I suppose so!! It's had a triple oil change to flush and then the 504.01 and mahl filter for the main change. I'll change every 7k and just use it. Remarkably rust free Even the arches
  18. This thread is probably dormant now, but anyway… I took delivery of Kodiaq PHEV in early April. I really wanted the 193bhp diesel, as my mileage is 30,000 plus a year. But, company car tax would have been obscene. So, I opted for the PHEV. Overall, the car is brilliant and I have no big complaints, apart from the brakes being a bit spongy. What has been a huge relief is the fuel economy, which I was worried about as I do a lot of motorway driving. Having had almost two months of driving, I’m averaging 88 mpg. I do charge the battery overnight (on a cheap rate of 7p per kw). I’m normally away for one night a week and don’t charge on those occasions (public chargers are a rip off). I also put it in hybrid and eco mode most of the time. So, if you can charge at home, put it in eco and hybrid mode, then the PHEV is a suitable replacement for a diesel, even for high mileage drivers. One niggle - it always defaults to electric and normal driving modes, and doesn’t remember your last driving modes. REALLY annoying. Maybe a software upgrade will change that……
  19. I arrive home with 5% from time to time (3% indicated has been the lowest) & that is with a battery of just about 33 k/Wh total capacity. About 10 miles from home i know if i need to really ease off weather dependent. I know depending on which of 4 roads i am coming in if there is chargers 2 miles, 1 mile or 1/2 mile away from home.
  20. It never seems to be clear what these Skoda cars come with. I had to turn s previous SEL down because the virtual dash wasn't there. The car I have is an Edition but now find it's a 2024 not a 2025. But most of the new stuff is there. Why Skoda don't take a poll of potential or actual buyers I don't know.
  21. Hi all, I've had a Skoda Superb estate 2011 for around 6 years. I've lurked on the forums here when I've had issues in the past, but decided to join up today so I can ask a question about a current problem. That said, I feel my car is experiencing so many problems these days that its future may be in doubt - definitely hitting that moment where it might be cheaper to be rid of it. Which is a shame because it's a fun car to drive. Anyway, questions are for another post (and forum) - just saying hi, cheers Joe
  22. Installed part was 1K8 951 605A, but I assume that was just a revision change and nothing fundamentally different from the B part? Good to know that LLL is probably the best for it - I've used them before. Thanks
  23. They dont interbreed mike ,their totally different species and not compatible sexually ,aswell as hating each other .
  24. U need to remove the front bumper in order to fix or replace the headlight washer. No need to touch or remove the headlight. A while ago I made a how to guide on removing the bumper. Essentially it's not a simple job, but doable. Removing Front Bumper.pdf
  25. I was surprised when I saw it advertised, she had 200+ messages and switched off messenger, I added her as a Facebook friend and could reply to a historic post - was only way, and she was away to scrap it cos people mucking around
  26. Will go forever as well. A steal at £1,000. Congrats mate
  27. Rear wiper doesnt work on my MK2 with boot open so maybe a problem with boot switch/lock. Found this on another post. Not sure if yours is the same
  28. Only had lock fitted 15/5/25 so no idea how long it will last but it is working perfectly. Have hat to reset window and a few other minor resets using VCDS, but no real problems. Have just noticed lights in boot (hatchback) and rechargeable torch have no supply but 12volt socket still works , so I will look into that in due course.
  29. And also of course as time goes on, the amount of electrified in some way or other cars will increase, and the ICE cars will be in smaller numbers and unless they can find ways to both reduce the volatility of these high voltage batteries and also a superb and highly efficient way of quickly bringing any such fires under control, the level devastation is going to continue rising. Often it is only these Vloggers / Bloggers who are not completely as yet under control, who bring these types of event to our attention as the MSM seen to be gagged, especially in China.
  30. Ahhh GSF yes - I'd totally forgotton about them. Lots on here use them so a good choice.
  31. I’ve looked at GSF and can get. Oil,air, cabin filter and 5ltr of oil for £60 delivered Sound good Most eBay suppliers are using manoil which ain’t good
  32. Why do Skoda have all these unnecessary variations on the same thing. With regard to the gear number indication on the dash display, is this a difference between 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI engines. As I said my 2023 2.0 TSI has the gear number shown as did the 2024 2.0 TSI I test drove.
  33. https://www.halfords.com/tools/garage-equipment/garage-essentials/halfords-2-litre-oil-measure-with-spout-739166.html I've got the same problem and this 2 litre jug is graduated and makes oil fills a lot easier. The nozzle is flexible and the filling hole has a lid. You don't get a nozzle lid, but that's not a huge problem.
  34. Not sure of the fuse rating on the socket if you are puting one on dash. May have to put an inline one in. Alasdair
  35. My Testing ground overs the years was my local roads, different seasons / weather, and also my offroad outings, a tyro can be very different according to the weather / ground conditions. Different tyres but on rims, change wheels / tyres for different outings or seasons. Some tyres were and are Jacks of All trades, kind of like what you are running in the video.
  36. Thanks for all the info guys. So basically the belt needs a visual check but should be good for 15 years. Amazing for a piece of rubber . I'll try and post some pics of Monte when I get him . No doubt there'll be more questions along the way.

Hi, and Welcome!! enjoybthe forums and pop into the social zone too for a chat
  38. Thank you. It certainly wouldn't do any harm, I'll get onto that.
  39. Hello, I wrote to <email address removed> waited a long time, but today I received a response from <email address removed> that: We have considered these new logos in our next update version v1.31.58 and you can download them from 21-May-2025. I hope there will be an update from Skoda. @vegarz you helped me update, I hope there will be a new update here too 😄

Move froma '67 Superb L&K to a '72 Karoq Sportline. less than 24 hours of ownership, I've removed the aero inserts I appreciate the colour divides opinion, but I love it.
  41. 👍of course, I forgot about the TDI setup.
  42. Just to add this belt only drives the alternator and air con pulleys, the water pump is driven by the timing belt as mentioned look at the crankshaft pulley rubber damper a known failiure
  43. These compressors have a fail-safe system built in, so that if they seize up the pulley becomes disconnected from the shaft.
  44. Doesn't the serpentine belt also drive the water pump and alternator? There would be no issue in removing the belt to manually check the AC compressor, but obviously, the other ancillaries would be disabled if you were to actually run the engine.
  45. Fine, you continue in your bubble and believe what you like, as for me, well I know the truth, I saw it and I cannot magically produce something that has been taken down, just as BJ's Russia report, and when it did come out it was so heavily redacted it could have been about anything other than the truth 😒

The logo isn't the problem... the wheel is on the wrong side of the car! When the EU comes to it's senses and applies to join the British Empire, we will make you drive on the right side of the road, which is the left side. All clear? 🙂
  47. You can put the car into a suitable rpm range simply by knocking the gear lever sideways into manual mode & then selecting 1 gear lower than auto mode would choose.
  48. Do you have the correct BCM? If not, that’ll need changing too. 5Q0937084CG or DD is good along with some others but 084CF is no good. If you have Pin 29 on connector C you are good. Floor lights are a must too IMO.
