  1. Don't just squirt it, apply it to a cloth and/or strip of cloth, use the strip to see-saw into gaps between panels (if there are any) where they might rub. Door seals just wipe around the rubber, this is especially useful in the winter to help stop seals freezing to the door aperture. to
  2. I tried to set my sat nav for a half hour drive, I have never seen such a user unfriendly set up, I used to have a Tom Tom unit which mas intuitive and easy. Is there a video on setting it up, please
  3. All modern cars make noises, I get great satisfaction from using a wipe of silicone or polish on plastics and doorseals, it can be very satisfying. The older cars had bigger gaps in interior fittings so tended not to rub.
  4. I bought a roof sized Thule Ocean 80, 320ltr. front opening box, for my Fabia Estate and roof bars from an Amazon seller but do shop around. I also bought the Thule shaped bags to keep things easily loaded and unloaded.
  5. I had a problem in Wales, a long curving downward curve and another vehicle pulled out I put my foot on the brake and tried to slow, the pedal went to the floor. I started pumping the brake and it came back up. I had no further trouble and took the car back to the dealer (it was only a few months old) they changed the fluid and found one of the cylinders was leaking (porous casting they said). The fluid levels were fine as this was my first check! anyway no further trouble in the three years I owned it.
  6. I can select park with the engine off but unless there is another unknown factor in play I have not been able to remove the key without starting the engine. This is the second time I have turned the engine off before selecting 'P' it is, hopefully, not becoming a habit. Just a quick return trip to the local supermarket.
  7. I turned the engine off before selecting 'P' (the first time I have done that) and I could not remove the key. I had to restart the engine and select 'P'.
  8. I will have a closer look, thank you
  9. No, it is some kind of venturi effect where fast moving air outside the car (with partially open windows) produces a vaccuum inside the car. Mr Dyson loves the effect.
  10. Is this the phenomenon where dust and empty plastic bags float about in the back of the car as in a vacuum? My boys used to love this effect that we had in some cars I owned.
  11. I have a Monte Carlo and there are no rear usb ports, there are so many "extras" on Skoda models nowadays. With my Yeti and Fabia Monte, I had pretty much everything fitted.

If you look at the photo closely the footrest looks to have a bolt/screw holding it in place. Regarding the passenger footwell there is no duplicate footrest, moulded or otherwise.

My recent Kamiq has a footrest fitted
  15. EVs shouldn't be towed as the car's electric motor is mechanically linked to the wheels and can't be placed in neutral. Towing one can cause lasting damage to the car's powertrain. Say the makers.
  16. When you get it sorted, use a cable rather than a push in adapter, Amazon .
  17. What with one thing and another, the kamiq has only done 472 miles. I got into the car today after not using it for a few days and the smell of clutch was in the cabin not strong but there. I phoned the dealer but they are very busy, nothing until September. The car performs perfectly, no extrenuous noises, and as another poster said it stays in D-drive and Wafts along. S-drive is still unexplored until I have added a few more miles.
  18. I second the Bosch Aerotwin, there is also a Bosch Icon that is supposed to be good in ice and snow.
  19. Read this thread through you may find it helpful
  20. I no longer use add blue, I've gone petrol! I was referring to VW or Prestone screen wash. Just a thought what does the dishwasher Rinse Aid do?
  21. I think it was a concentrate , so yes it would have been diluted. I'm using VW at the moment, I bought a load 3 yrs. ago when I ordered add blue but will have to replenish my stock before the winter
  22. Prestone is very good, I was Ooop North and ran out of screen wash for the journey home, The service station only had the prediluted blue stuff but the till man said pop across to the industrial estate I bought some Prestone, the workshop let me wash my screen and refill the washer bottle and it was very good especially with an up with the dawn start.
  23. I had such a problem years ago, that I used windolene, put it on pink leave to dry polish off a white powder. once done I used VW windscreen wash only and except for the occassional heavy vehicle pollution everything was fine for years. Windowlene disappeared so I used bicarb paste instead, but stuck with the VW wash.

  25. I had similar damage caused by trolley bay sloping rail. I took it to a body repair place for an assessment. They re-skinned the door and sprayed., I don't remember how much but it was some time ago.
