  1. Yes, a vRS gets different springs and dampers to a standard Octavia 👍
  2. The buttons don't tend to have a wire for each function, instead it's probably a resistor ladder so the resistance changes depending which button is pressed. That's probably why you have to press set then seat position rather than both together If so, then it's entirely possible that by changing a single resistor you can convert between 'massage' and '3' buttons. It's also possible that it's part of the electric seat module parameter data...
  3. They are called PR-codes. The sticker in the handbook (and the boot) only has a small subset of the full list. There are plenty of online decoders, for instance this: http://prsearch.planetvag.com/ A friendly dealer might give you a full PR-code list if you give them a VIN/number plate.
  4. Over time the xenons colour-shift so even if you buy an identical matched xenon, there is a good chance it won't be the same colour. As both have likely had the same amount of use, the second may fail soon too. Therefore, I would suggest you replace both at the same time If you're happy with the stock performance, I'd replace both with either of the following: - https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-xenarc-classic-d1s-single - https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-xenarc-d1s-xenon-hid-bulb-single As a warning, there are lots of fake, low quality xenon bubs so always buy from a reputable, authorized supplier.
  5. Last full set to sell on eBay were £600: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254745903542 There are some on for £500 per pair: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362555898054 Singles seem to be in the £200-£250 range? As John999boy suggests, if you become a freedom member you can advertise them here
  6. I'll give you a tenner for them There tends to be a few on eBay to give you a rough idea of value if it helps.
  7. langers2k replied to mrhooty's topic in Skoda Yeti
Welcome to the forums Rather than 'best', you should be looking for the option best suited to you... - If you do short journeys with a low yearly mileage, I'd suggest a petrol - If you're covering 20k+ a year with longer journeys, then a diesel is better - Are you planning to tow anything, if so, what and how frequently Manual vs DSG is trickier, personally, I like having a manual but may prefer DSG gearboxes so it's whichever you're most comfortable with
  8. As I mentioned above, I wouldn't trust the OBDeleven 'there is new firmware' message, especially given the CAN-gateway suggested firmware. If it also get a valid TPI then it would be a much more useful thing rather than a firmware version seemingly pulled out of thin air. You should use erwin and grab the TPI/TSB's for your VIN. There are some examples below that apply to my VIN. The first relates to the ECU and had been applied (could be by the dealer or factory?) when I bought the car: The second relates to the headunit and not been applied despite being released almost six months before my purchase. This gave me the extra push to apply the updates offered by Pab given there was a valid reason: Finally, the only outstanding update I'm aware of is the electric seat controller: Even if I reported that my seat had issues, without the 'no basic settings' fault, the dealer still might not apply the update I've got someone who will hopefully be doing some more remote work with ODIS for me so I'll see if they can update/parameterise the module for me. If you really want the dealer to perform updates, give them the info they need to find and perform the update or even claim to be having the symptoms in the TPI. Most even have an amount of workunits the dealer can claim from Skoda for performing it.... Don't get me wrong, I fully agree that if there is an update, I'd much rather have it applied at my convenience (service etc) rather than waiting for the problem to crop up and wasting time playing the 'please fix it' game but that's not how the system currently works I'm afraid On a side note, I like TPI 2051234/5, it's basically about faulty MIB screens with vertical lines amongst other faults. The 'fix' is to replace the screen which explains why there are so many on eBay that are 'new' with a warning about vertical lines I'd be interested to here OBDelevens response to where they source the update info from and if your dealer would be happy to update with a valid TPI against your VIN.
  9. Maybe ask the seller for the contact details of whoever did the hack?
  10. What source are you using to confirm updates are needed? Few that I'm aware of: - Flash file name in the latest VAG flash data - OBDeleven 'suggests' updates - TPI/TSB from VAG for your VIN Guessing from the flash file name is risky, it might work but unless others have done it successfully without issue, I wouldn't use just the name as a source of truth. I think OBDeleven also guesses from the flash data. The OBDeleven screenshot you shared recently showed the CAN-gateway was running 4366 but suggesting 5366 was newer/available. This is not an upgrade I would suggest as the 4xxx and 5xxx software versions are for different manufactures of CAN-gateways... The TPI/TSB route is by far the best as it's a 'VAG approved' upgrade path. You can check in erwin against your VIN for a small fee Unless it's safety or regulation related, I wouldn't expect updates to be offered or applied automatically. On my car, it looks like the ECU has been updated but the headunit/radio and seat controller haven't been updated despite their being valid TPIs against my VIN.
  11. I'm afraid not. That's a lowline camera so it can only do high beam assist 😟
  12. You'd be much better posting this in the MK3 Octavia section - the MK2 and MK3 are based on different platforms so this thread won't help you. That aside, quick few answers: - The 'dummy front' in the glove compartment is the radio, the part in the middle of the car is just a display and touchscreen/buttons. - I don't think there are any options for a CD player, you'll need to move your granddaughters music to MP3 (or similar) on a USB stick or SD card. - It is possible to upgrade from a Bolero to an Amundsen/Columbus but it might be more expensive than you think.
  13. Welcome @justwilliam80 I wouldn't advise posting your email address on a public forum, it's likely to make you a target for spam and phishing emails. I've asked a mod to remove it for you. It's not clear from your message if you're having a problem, looking for help or just saying hello If you are having issues, give us a brief description and if someone can help, I'm sure they will.
  14. The best person around here to answer your questions is probably @pab567. If you flash new software, you'll probably lose the CP and FEC patches so they'll need doing again. Have you contacted the seller?
  15. If you read Maggle's other posts, it appears they haven't got an VAQ/e-diff as there is nothing showing on the CAN-bus at that address. I can only imagine the menu item is changing the EDL via the ABS pump
  16. An example of both cameras are shown in this post:
  17. Or you could post a picture and we can tell you 😉
  18. Try tweaking the following adaption channels: static AFS light-Abdimmgeschwindigkeit change to 25 %/s static AFS light-Maximaltemperatur change to 100 °C static AFS light-obere Grenztemperatur change to 95 °C static AFS light-untere Grenztemperatur change to 80 °C
  19. For a proper retrofit, you'll need to add suspension level sensors, a headlight range (AFS) module, some wiring and finally recode the car I'm not sure if any modules (CAN gateway or BCM) would also need replacing. If you scan your car with VCDS or similar to can compare your car to those with factory fitted xenons to confirm.
  20. I've never used OBDeleven (as I have VCDS) but as general advice: - make a backup before you do anything (no idea how OBDeleven does this) - make sure the backup is somewhere safe!! - make a note of everything you change - double check the adaption channels as they are often very similar Once you've done that, try following the OBDeleven guide below. It seems to match exactly what I did on my '18 plate vRS although a couple of the adaption channels were already set correctly so don't worry if you find the same. Good luck
  21. Then I'd suggest asking to see if they do Once we have an adaption map, it should be possible to suggest the coding. There are a few variants for the Octavia so it's best to see how the car is currently configured before suggesting changes.
  22. Sure, can you post an autoscan and an adaption map for 09? Hopefully you're VCDS friend took both when they were connected
  23. Just had my drivers side rear cluster off, it has the same wire clipped on to the reflector so it appears to be normal... :/ When you replaced the rear lights, did you do both and use exactly the same part number? Might be worth connecting VCDS or similar but typically, I wouldn't expect replacing a rear light to need any coding etc.
  24. Nope, a Discover Pro MIB2.5 won't work in a PQ based car such as a MK2 Octavia. The only option that's compatible with the PQ platform is the "MIB2 STD PQ" aka Amundsen/Bolero or Discover/Composition Media. Even the, it's only the 'all-in-one' version that'll work (MY15+ Yeti and various MY15+ PQ based VWs). The ones with a separate display and 'brain' which lives in the glovebox are only for MQB cars.
  25. Yup, just the drivers side should work as standard. I'd not noticed the white 2-pin plug being disconnected in your first post. That should definitely be connected to something and tallies with the warning on the dash... If I get time over the weekend, I'll remove my rear cluster and take a look for you. Unless someone has one handy or some decent pictures In the meantime, you can take the passenger side off and compare. That will have the same white 2-pin plug but it should be connected correctly with any luck
