  1. Swap the front left wheel with the front right, does it make a difference? It sounds like your car could be crabbing, are you the first owner from new? I know you said you’ve tried other cars and they don’t do it as much, but I’m assuming they are different sizes in every way including tyre size to the superb? Only other thing I recommend doing is going back to your dealership, explain the issue again and ask for a test drive on a new superb they have, then go on the same roads. You’ll then be able to mentally compare your car and the new test drive car, if it does the same then it has to be the road, if it doesn’t then you know something is amiss with your car.
  2. I removed it and partially broke one of the vanes but it won’t break off quite a lot of crap in there to be honest and filter not looking too bad if it’s never be changed after doing 40k miles
  3. Yes! That’s it, does it just unclip do you know? Edit: just seen on that link there’s another link how to remove it. Just need to take it off and clean underneath then I’ll put it back just in case
  4. Aren’t you thinking of the pollen filter? I knew about the cardboard trick for changing my pollen filter yesterday though
  5. I removed my air filter to check it today and underneath the filter is loads of plastic Louvre looking vents. It had some leaves stuck inside so thought I’d remove them but they’ve dropped down. Is there a way to remove that plastic for cleaning purposes? I didn’t want to break anything
  6. When you say doesn’t get dark, is it that as dark as it gets?
  7. Just went on a slightly longer drive to a ECP (open on Sunday ) to pick up a normfest AC “cleaner” as I’ve got that tropical zoo smell when I first start the car Ordered a Mann Fprecious Plus pollen filter as I don’t think it’s been changing in a while and should stop more of the smell and help with allergies (allegedly) Put in £110 worth of normal diesel 💔 Not sure if anyone’s seen my other thread but recently put on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, so much quieter than the P7’s even doing 80mph (I’m told)
  8. It is done at long last Asymmetric 6 providing a little more rim protection than the P7’s which I thought was very good anyway, handy when visiting the in laws as it’s street parking only and horrible old broken kerbs. I’d say quieter than the P7’s by quite a bit as well which is good I got them from Camskill in the end at £155 per tyre then £60 fitted with usual balancing, disposal etc Due to go on a longish drive soon which will bed them in nicely. Just need to get some Bilt Hamber auto wheels
  9. Does anyone know if the newer centre caps still go horrible in a short period of time? I see the part number has changed and wondering if they’re better now? If not I may as well buy rip offs
  10. If the oil filter is low down and have to remove the plastics, then you might as well just undo the sump plug and buy a new one to be honest
  11. Quite possibly, but jury’s still out as it doesn’t hold the gear as long. Mines a 2016 6speed DSG if that has any bearing
  12. I done mine with the accelerator pedal down for 20 seconds and ignition only on. I was thinking what’s the worst that can happen and not bad happened and I’m sure it doesn’t hold the gears for as long. probably all in my mind though
  13. I done the “DSG reset” the other day and I’m sure I noticed a difference, so I guess when it has a service they reset something software wise. That reminds me I’ve not long gone over 40k and need to book in the service shortly
  14. Sounds possessed to me. I’d find somewhere near where you had the work done and see if you can replicate it near, then get a mechanic in the car with you, just make sure you can hear the noise on the same part of the road. Might be worth getting someone you know to see if it makes that sound outside
  15. Used it for the first time in 2 weeks, Gout in the big toe is bloody horrible, still can’t walk properly 😞
  16. I would have thought you’d need something like VCDS to purge the ABS. Is that not the case or just something not necessary?
  17. The extended scope is just more checks have a look here https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price scroll down a bit and you’ll see “oil and inspection service” then scroll right and you’ll see extended scope then click full details The extended scope is normally on top of your annual service
  18. There use to be a handy PDF but can’t see this years one cambelt & waterpump is the big one
  19. It’s a choice you’ll have to decide yourself. I personally went for diesel purely because when I do a long trip in my car it’s a long one, mostly it’s short journeys but never ever had the dpf light come on, had a few regens though, if I notice I’ll go a little further until it stops (back fired EU eh?) I much preferred the grunt the diesel produces and felt the petrol seemed a bit tinnie if that makes sense. If I were you, I’d focus on what options and colour you want then see what’s available in your budget, I honestly can’t see you going wrong with either to be honest. Might be worth checking the VED aswell as I’m sure petrols are or can be a lot higher
  20. I’m pretty sure I’ve read on here a lot of those errors will disappear. Also read about doing a full lock left and full lock right to clear errors, pretty sure that was in relation to new battery installed
  21. What xenon bulbs do you have?
  22. I took brembo discs along with me for my local Skoda dealer to fit along with genuine pads. They’ll just say it’s a wear and tear item so not worth the hassle imo
  23. Ah I read small print as well so cheaper for you as it’s near expiration. To answer your question the all in package is one up from listed component and DSG is listed there. It says it’ll repair or replace, so DSG should be fine, however I’d do the quiet service at 40k miles for DSG then I can’t see how they could argue
  24. £188 is a bargain, I just done a quote for mine 2016 40k miles with £250 excess and comes out as £481 I suppose yours is cheaper as it’s still under manufacturers warranty isn’t it?
  25. Could have been me They’re still looking great
