  1. @TroelsDK - Replacing the alternator or even "servicing" it seems unnecessary until you've proved the load sense wire isn't coming loose.
  2. Fine as far as it goes, but I've never known a taxi (or private hire) driver with a vRS.
  3. @wurlipoly Have you tried using an actual dismantling lubricant such as PlusGas (other brands are available) rather than Water Dispersant 40?
  4. @MiloFrance ...and sooner or later you'll probably want the window regulator if not the other gubbins.
  5. One hour on Erwin for half the money of a modern Haynes comic book.
  6. But all slave cylinders have the OP's quoted failure mode.
  7. @Edinburghskodarapid - Expanding on @nta16 above, does the other tailgate functionality all work?
  8. And my knowledge and experience are that pretty much anything fired through an internal combustion engine gets burnt. You really think your "it just works" assertion trumps this? Don't bother to reply; I've just blocked you.
  9. Thank you. Now explain how the One Shot" makes it through the combustion chamber without being denatured or admit that it's snake oil.
  10. Mental image of Pentti Arricola overtaking Tony Pond half-way down a forest stage!
  11. OK, where do you put the "One Shot" into the car?
  12. @kris_kristofferson as per @pikpilot above, leaving the a/c on all year keeps the cabin more pleasant, and improves the reliability of the system. I don't know about in Spain, but in the UK you can get a/c service from specialists for way less than a garage will charge (odds on the garage will send the car to the specialist and then charge the specialist price plus a percentage).
  13. Can you say "upselling"?
  14. The thing that surprises me there is that only 2 of the Toy Otas were beige!
  15. Yes. You need to do proper diagnostics like dry and wet compression test (for piston rings) to find out which.
  16. The usual recommendation is the latest version Osram NightBreaker.
  17. You shouldn't; it's illegal, an MoT fail point, and won't work anyway because the focal point of halogens is different to that of plasma discharge or LED units.
  18. Yes, to the point where Muniquip and similar Police operated systems can be out of calibration.
  19. I've never heard of a Lambourgspaghetti being nicked (well except in "Gone in 60 Seconds" and that gang only wanted sports and luxury cars)/
  20. When you've finished using it as a storage unit...
  21. @kris_kristofferson Does your car have an outside temperature display? If so, does that work properly? It has effects on climate control output.
  22. You have an intermittent engine fault. As @Simon TDI Sport says, read fault codes when the glow plug light is on.
  23. Check the linkage alignment.
  24. Normal function. Adjust right mirror first then left.
  25. @JuanCrei "About to pull the trigger on a Skoda Scala"; well use a 0.44 Magnum and make sure!
