  1. As ever pedanticism rules!!
  2. So there's no water vapour exhaled when astronauts breathe in the capsule? They must be really unique beings then!!
  3. Just over an hours work, 90€, i supplied the doughnut, cost about 100€, see earlier notes on system of work!
  4. Frenchtone replied to Simon D's topic in Skoda Yeti
I had a similar problem some time ago, turning on the ignition also turned on the side and headlights, couldn't switch them off by the switch. i bought a new switch, problem soon returned, opened up the original switch and a track on the circuit board at the back of the switch had burned out, so using fine wire wire I soldered in a bridging piece, not had any subsequent problems --- if you follow this route you will need torx bits!
  5. So how do you cope with the CT? They would surely pick up the LH dip situation with their box of tricks?
  6. So JR, is your car UK or French registered?
  7. Ha, if its a french design, then it would have been done after a very good friday lunch, ie a friday afternoon job!! 😄
  8. Switch and contact cleaner followed by a smear of vaseline works for me!! I live by the sea so lots of salt / rain etc blowing about!!
  9. My wife did the same thing years ago, topped up the tank with diesel and also added cooking oil, the cheapest available, put in about 2.5 litres, it worked, didn't experience any probs, had the car for 3 more years after the event
  10. Fleabay ? - probably not OEM
  11. A photo of the the radio facia would help i think --- it could be an Amundsen + as only 1 slot!
  12. there has been reference to screen probs recently, there is a guy in B/ham i think, will replace it quite cheaply - someone will be along with the number i think!
  13. google search or amazon!
  14. Didn't seem to be any before replacement , so no, no noticeable improvement! the steel(?)external rim was loose, but not overly loose!
  15. Eventually had the car serviced by a VW group independant, he fitted the new doughnut supplied by me, as per normal no guarantee on the piece. He charged 90€ to do the work -- a good price I thought, about 1 hours work, the car would have been on the lift for the service items though!
  16. Oooofffff I think we approach behind the bike shed at playtime time!! :-()
  17. Now fitted, resistances 750k , by Bosch, all lights/indicators now out, a minor victory!!
  18. Begs the question, is it equipped for the function of folding mirrors?
  19. New pieces ordered, will check resistances before fitting, hopefully that will solve my problem!!
  20. Ok reading on OEM sensor is around 11K I have a slight memory of someone saying that there are sensors with different resistance values, anyone out there confirm or refute that, and anyone got a resistance value for a new OEM piece
  21. A new one 470 - 490 k I got the sensor out by unscrewing the holding screw, a squirt of penetrating oil, then gentle rocking of the sensor/plug to try to loosen it, then a screwdriver under the flange and gentle upward pressure and, at first it moved a little but eventually it came out easily! If I have time later today I will check the resistance of the fitted piece and report back!
  22. Ok, the problem has returned, vcds indicating an intermittent electrical fault and a sensor problem, together with an awd intermittent signal prob - I will look at that over the w/e as the rear drive doughnut was recently replaced, possibility of said connection being disturbed! Have had the sensor out and inspected the detector head, all looks fine, with no scuffing etc, I used some contact cleaner spray on the 2 plug pieces, in the past that solved my problem, this time it didn't, Battery is new, but has been slow charged this week, no change with my problem! Any suggestions anyone?
