  1. Happy to point you at a solution!! :))
  2. Have you tried gently pulling the light switch out when the lights are on, a 2 stage thing, first front lamps, 2nd rears!
  3. Doooohhhhhh how would I know what goes on there, never been, not likely to either, just a random thought on a very hot humid day in N W France, I'm curling at the edges, looking more and more like a crisp.
  4. Shouldn't it be Barbie Island??? ;-D Sorry, couldn't resist!!
  5. I assume you realise that once here permanently you have a 3 month period to pass a CT and then get french regd, also you might have to pay a large fee because of pollution etc. I did it in 2015 and had to pay north of 1500€, my car was built in 2013 and registered UK side at the end of Feb 2014, the pollution regs here changed 01/01/2014 and it was based on first registration date, for me at the time it was cheaper than buying an equivalent french reg'd car. I only changed headlight / foglight units and had to change over the rear foglight side, ie uk offside to french side, ie uk nearside. Hope this helps!!
  6. You could try a complete reset(?) by removing fuse 8 (i think) from the engine compartment fuse box - it is for the radio etc - for a couple of mins, It might work, got to be worth a try!
  7. I get the same indications, I have checked the sensor, split the plug / socket, cleaned the contacts, reassembled, and interrogated the system, shown as an electrical intermittent fault, waddled the plug/socket and it goes away, suggesting the prob is in the plug/socket, maybe try pushing the cable into the boot a little although there isn't much to play with, maybe the cable clamp needs bending a little to give a little more play. What does vcds show?
  8. Why can't you just wire a link across the boot , I did that some time ago to light both reversing lights and also with a 2 way switch to light the left side or the right side, I used to regularly return to the UK and found the switch ideal
  9. If they show whilst you are rolling, when safe turn ignition off, press clutch in, turn on ignition let out clutch, that used to clear it all on mine, but had success replacing 5.5 year old battery -- think starting the car took too much out of the old battery which tripped the memory etc. As above it was me with the battery solution!
  10. It was the battery, it wouldn't hold charge, replaced, probs have not returned! The original voltage first thing was12.3 volts, tells its own story! So, based on my experience , any warning lights on the dash, start by looking at the battery voltage/state of charge! Then move on to other causes.
  11. Update, problem returned, with a dashboard like Blackpool illuminations! Started by recharging the battery on a recondition setting. After the recharge the dashboard was clear of warnings, checked my records, the battery is 5.5 years old so, a new battery 'en route', I might keep it unfitted until the problem returns!! Theory is, with covid and confinements ,lots of short journeys which didn't do the battery any favours!! Now need to use VCDS to read any arising problems.
  12. Ok, thanks for the clarification!
  13. ^ Even when using the 'free' app? ie carista
  14. So far so good, seems to be working perfectly, so if the abs sensors play up/error message, maybe start tracing the problem by giving the plug and socket squirts of switch and contact cleaner, if that doesn't work further investigation required!
  15. naw, just my remnant brain!!! πŸ˜„
  16. oK, THINK i HAVE SORTED THE PROBLEM, REPLACED SENSOR, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM, LOOKED AT VARIOUS YOUTUBE STUFF, HAD A LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL SENSOR, NO TELLTALE TRACKING ON THE BOTTOM FACE, SO, SQUIRTED SOME SWITCH CLEANER INTO THE 2 HALVES OF THE PLUG/SOCKET, REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL SENSOR CONNECTED UP, VCDS'D THE SYSTEM AND IT ALL RESET, WENT FOR A DRIVE, STILL CLEAR, I think maybe moisture got into the plug etc a few weeks ago, when i hosed off the wheel arches etc, who knows, i am now a happy bunny!!! Sorry about the capitals, couldn't be bothered to rewrite it all.
  17. Ok, got a problem with warnings about the front o/s abs detector, which i have just replaced, still got the problem, looked at youtube and the next suggestion is the magnetic(reluctor) ring and corrosion of it. As with all you tube stuff some info seems to have been 'glossed over' ie getting the hub assembly out. Anyone out there got any pictures/drawings or info? Otherwise its a garage job!
  18. What about Superskoda, excellent quality, had one fitted to mine for 8 years now, I did have to replace the double sided tape of the original, used very thin number plate tape to reattach!! Exterior : SUPERSKODA.COM (kopacek.com)
  19. Ah ok, got to mine before it fell completely off!
  20. Similar prob years ago, I just cleaned up the back of the mirror and the base, then used gutter sealant, still in place without probs --- i assume the mirror is not broken?
  21. Strange, it arrived in a box with a reference to Gbpartsonline with an ebay ref! --- I suppose coz of brexit! :-((
  22. Just found a site on Fleabay lbmautoparts.com , i have just bought the filter, cover and 1 litre oil for 78€ about Β£66 delivered --- all Borg Wagner apparently(how does one tell?) Filtre Avec Huile Haldex pour Volvo Ford Land Rover GΓ©nΓ©ration 4 Pn KHXVO4OF Hope this is of some use!! πŸ˜‰
  23. Seem to recall, a new set of from pads fitted last year also had wear indicator wires and plug or socket, nothing to connect to so I cut 'em off
