  1. Yes. Please tag @pab567 who will be hopefully be able to help
  2. I think an Italian tune-up would help. Doing lots of stop/start work will cause issues.
  3. How often is the regen process taking place. Once a tank is about normal. If you are in a town, try taking the car out onto main fast roads and giving the car an Italian tune-up (fast, hi revs, high speed driving). Failing that I've discovered that putting in a cetan improver into the diesel can massively improve performance and and keep your EGR valve and DPF in tip top performance.
  4. The jet Noddles get easily blocked. This blockage can cause excess built up of pressure and you can find that the inside part of either your roofliner or your foot well fills up with water due to a burst junction connector or split pipe. Make sure you use a reasonable quality washer fluid and you might also have scale build-up if you are in a hard water area.
  5. The water pump issues were sorted after the launch of the FL >2017 cars.
  6. No they are not the same. The FL cars are longer than the non-FL cars. The front wings are longer than the older cars.
  7. The car knows.... It has variable servicing enabled and therefore reads the quality of the oil from sensors in the engine. An oil and inspection service is reqd here.
  8. or alternatively....as it is just 6 screws to remove it, have a look at it. If you have been doing lots of town driving, I would recommend getting the filter done early. I've had air filters that after 30k look revolting. It's your car and you can decide and replace the filter yourself whenever you want.
  9. I've got the same issue on my VRS DSG DQ250 Gearbox. Vibration at lower revs. I think it is caused when one of the dampener springs cracks and the DMF becomes imbalanced.
  10. Hello there. Firstly...please clean the screen! OCD out of the way, you have a Bolaro basic unit. You also have the latest firmware for this unit. Any updates would definitely require a reboot, but not a system update. If the system is shoving out random characters then a factory reset is a good first start. There are NO codes needed as the unit is matched to the car.
  11. The use of a non-genuine VCDS cable is not really cool. If VCDS is too expensive then please try another product such as ODBEleven which is more reasonable. The pirated versions are only generally versions 12.x versions, only support cars up to 2015 and because they have been hacked, will cause random stuff to happen to your car. You are going to get little sympathy on this forum.
  12. Difficult to pin point but worrying areas from the codes look like: * High Pressure Fuel lines are reporting too low pressure (fuel pump or blocked fuel filter??). * Turbo charger various faults. A blown turbo will exhibit the faults you are reporting. The fact that sensors are failing sounds like they are failing due to oil saturation. The 1.6 or 2.0 tdi engines are good units if looked after. I would check to see if you also have oil in the coolant (blown cylinder head gasket) or the timing is massively out (indicating engine trauma). If none of those, then most likely a blown oil seal in the turbo. Any reason why you didn't take it to a Skoda Dealer?
  13. No selective folders the whole lot. If you get stuck, I'll try and help.
  14. In essence, it is a special edition of the VRS. It is the technical equivalent of the VW Golf GTI Black Edition.
  15. You will need firmware 0478 for the Amundsen system. There are lots of posting here on how to do this (I've even written a guide on how to do it).
  16. There are several valves to content with; there will be a valve in the Fuel Pump in the Fuel tank - and there should be a valve in the fuel line - and finally a one-way fuel flow in the Fuel Filter (which is that great big black cylinder at the front of the engine bay).
  17. It sounds like either the fuel pump is failing, or the fuel non-return valve has stopped working. Please also check the fuel filter. In the TDI's - they need checking/replacing every 20k miles.
  18. Thanks @Ecomatt. The gearbox is actually better after it was serviced, but it is still not good. I've been given some info by Ross-Tech, so if I get a chance, I'll post the info in the project posting.
  19. Can you see whether it is still doing it if you turn the car around and park it downhill?
  20. Ruddy hell. Okay...so that makes sense....You should be on software or firmware version 0478 for your Amundsen system. Anything around 0475 or earlier produces very thin sound and breaks Android Auto/Apple Carplay. When you have replaced the speaker 🔊🔊🔊 then before you go to enormous lengths to retrofit a separate amp, if you speak with @SashaGrace she can point you in the right direction to enable Skoda Surround. This makes an ENORMOUS difference to the audio. If it still sounds naff, then please go ahead with your amp plans!
  21. Dear all I would welcome opinions from everyone here. Situation is: My Octavia VRS TDI184 4x4 has suspect gearbox issues. Its fitted with a fairly bulletproof DQ250 6 speed box. Having made the case to keep the car(see project page), I want some advice on how to proceed with getting a Jerky lurching gearbox drive train fixed. The issue only seems to majorly affect the car when cold and only in low gears and reverse. When warm, the problem seems to disappear. Car recently has a DSG oil and filter but I am concerned that the clutches and DMF are worn. It could also be a worn drive rubber cushing. Dealer wants 5hrs labour to diagnose the issue. If I approve that, then you might as well get the whole job for 2300 odd pounds done for a replacement clutch and DMF. Im about to speak with Ross-Tech to see if I can get any diagnosis out from the DQ250 as to the depth of the clutch plates. There are no other errors shown on the car. Interesting enough, the lurching is getting marginally better but it is slight. Could this be a clutch actuator problem? Could any other VRS TDI184 *4X4* Owners comment on how their cars drive pls. About to commit a lot of money to *try* to fix a problem. Need advice. Car has done 60k miles.
  22. @Schtum - Yes, sorry - the local VAG specialist refered to in Edinburgh - Autohaus. They were kirt and unhelpful when I went to them for a service.
  23. Some good news from "the car that keeps on giving (in a bad way)". However, I will have to give the car a new name, because I think I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Firstly - selling dealer update. Its really interesting that just as I was about to write this, Skoda Finance called - with an extremely unhelpful individual rejecting my complaint out of hand. They sadly believed the selling dealer who have not told them them truth and didn't listen to my concerns at all. My servicing dealer (who are different) - have told me to pursue this with the Chief Exec's office at Skoda UK - which is now being done. A complaint to the Motor Ombudsman is also in play. It basically boils down to two things: a) Getting an applogy from the selling dealer and b) getting them to contribute to the outlay I have had to do to fix the problems with the car. Good news re: poor running. @HeavyMetalRich was right to a certain extent, but not totally there. With the improvement of running the car on Super Diesel and performing maintainance on the car, I think it is beginning to get out a whole load of crud from the EGR and from the DPF. After a run on Sunday where the car was running like a dog after a sprited run (really very poor performance and clattering like mad), on Monday - the car started and ran considerably better. Its now running far better, more power and smooth like my Scout. If it was doing a regen, that was a FULL regen of maximum order!
  24. Can you let us know what type of Audio system you have please? A photo of the front of the unit and also Press and Hold MENU -> Version -> Version Info - would be helpful. Typically - the Standard Audio system setup on most Skoda's is less than ideal, however, with some very minor changes, Virtual Base and Skoda Surround can be enabled (on Bolaro, Amunsden and Columbus systems). This massively improves the sound quality of the audio system. How did the front speaker blow (just out of interest)?
  25. Make sure that you have enough fluid in your brake fluid tank - I canny remember if the Octavia's are hydrolic or electric power steering pumps.
