Forecast delivery dates vs. actual from recent orders

Had a call from the dealer this morning,

Orderd at the back end of Week 22

Superb Elegance Combi 140CR 2.0D Manual

Factory extras; Storm Blue Metalic, steel spare and side airbags

Dealer Fit; floor mats, mud flaps front & rear, tow bar and dog guard

Built Week 40

Arrived in the UK Week 43 (exactly a week ago today)

Due to arrive at the dealer today (Week 44)

Expect at least a week (during Week 45) for the dealer fit the bits Skoda won't do at the factory; tow bar and electrics being fitted at a specialist tow bar and auto electics center.

Therefore expected collection is currently Friday 19 November (Week 46) which is the eraliest time after the car shoudl be ready for me to get time off work to collect it.

So that's 23/24 weeks from point of ordering and this had the build week pulled forwards by 3 weeks and still Skoda UK question if I qualify for the compensation for such a long wait :o

I expected upto 18 weeks but this is just stupidly long and dealer isn't too impressed as we got the last of the Swappage deals they were doing, so they were already taking a hit, even bigger now as there has more than an extra 10K miles on the clock so trying to get Skoda UK to pay for the major service that requires a cam belt which we hadn't planned on as we obviously were expecting to have a new car.

My wife wants an Octavia, but she has said Skoda have to give some solid assurances that our wait won't be quite so long.

can have the car delivered to your premises for Wednesday 10th of November 2010 by mid-day.

Ordered Wk 21

Delivery scheduled Wk 45

6 months of waiting nearly at an end............

Phew - so close I can ALMOST touch it - but apparently it takes 4 days to clean!!!!!

If it takes 4 days to clean, then with the dealer fit parts going on my car then I am defintly looking at a collection date of Friday 19 November.

So despite your car being orderd a week before mine, built a week after, you will still have it a week before.

Pleased for you M8, but I'm still frustrated because like you so close yet so far :(

His excuse was...

That is the absolute earliest I can get it PD'i'd, cleaned, and delivered over to you.

Getting it booked in with our service dept. is the more difficult thing to achieve, as they have many customers' already booked in

with them for the past two weeks, so I cannot queue jump as it were.

Perish the thought those waiting 2 wks should be delayed!!

Car at long last has arrived and I've chosen the registration, it'll take about a week to prepare but that is for the dealer fit items, so hopefully it won't take too long to get car booked in for its tow bar.

Collection has been booked for Friday 19 November so justa few weeks shy of six months ;)

Phil,

My dealer rekons that the spec you orderd closely matched a cancelled order for a car that was too late to pull from the line as they are still quoting a minimum delivery of 18 weeks from point of order.

They are also saying the Octavia L&K has a similar lead time which we are thinking of ordering when we collect the Superb.

My order:

Placed on 8th October. Initial stock date quoted as 31st December.

22/10/10 - This has already been postponed to 14th January.

01/11/10 - Update from the dealer - stock date postponed twice in the space of 10 days. Now expected in stock 20th January.

08/11/10 - Further update from the dealer - stock date postponed AGAIN, this time to 28th January.

So, i ordered the car 1 month ago, and so far the delivery has been delayed by 1 month. Great.

I got a call from my dealer today that our Estate has arrived and that they are in the process off getting it ready for the road

Car specs underneath my nametag. Ordered in the first week of august, build week first week of october, forecast delivery 8 november, at the dealers on the 9th of november.

Really impressed I must say, taking into account that we ordered the "Superb estate elegance" in Amethyst colour with Panoramic sunroof, parkassist, auxillary heater, sunshades and sunset, leather Ivor/Ivory, alarm. columbus, mudflaps, electric mirrors et etc. And on top of that the new 1.6 CR engine that they only started procucing for the Superb in september.

More soon.

Another quick update, good news! :) My car was delivered to Rainworth Skoda today.

But there is bad news. :( I have been advised that Nottingham DVLA could take two working weeks to process the cherished transfer of the pesky company private plate. The wait continues.

  • Ordered week 25
  • Built week 43
  • Left factory 28 October
  • On ship from Emden 02 November
  • At Grimsby 03 November
  • Delivered to dealer 09 November

Ordered 06.10.10 (week 40) with DSG and panorama roof. my dealer then estimated approx 6 months delivery time.

Called my dealer today and recieved message of build-week 48 (only 8 weeks after order) ?!?!?

definately not gonna trust that, but.. it is legal to hope...

maybe I'll start believing in santa' again

WHOA! That was quick (if it turns out to be correct)!

I am about to order a Superb eastate with 4x4/DSG and panorama roof my self, and has also been told the wait will AT LEAST be 6 months...

One dealer I spoke with told me that he has Superbs with panorama roofs that were ordered 8 months ago, that just recently got a confirmed build-week.

Good luck - let us know how it goes!

My dealer says that if you get a car in less than 18 weeks it is probably due to someone cancelling their order. So that cancelled order closely matches what you wanted and the factory just add or remove things as necessary.

I get my car soon after a 24 week wait.

Car is having its tow bar fitted as we speak :)

Shame I can't get time off work before then to coolect by long awaited car :'(

Finally some good news on mine:

"I am pleased to be able to inform you that your vehicle left factory build during week 43 (end of October) and is now in transit to the dealer. We expect it to arrive in stock early next week"

Ordered week 26 and now likely to be a week 47 before delivery so 21 weeks in total. (I was told 14 - 16 weeks from order)

Mine is on its way at last. Getting it on Thursday next week from an order placed in June. Quite a surprise to get a call to say that it had arrived - the last update was for early December. I make it 21 weeks from order to delivery.
