wrc body kit project

I don't understand why the bumper dips inwards? Looks strange to me. Anyone know why it does that?

The dip above where the exhaust originally is ? Looks like that's where the tow eye goes on the rally cars

Been keeping an eye on this project and looks like it's really coming together, can't wait to see what it looks like when finished

Because its made like it?

It will look right when the wheels are spaced out.

Some have mud flaps too but i like the exposed look like in the link above.

Your right. That looks better lol. I forgot the wheels hadn't been spaced yet.

The spacers are 50mm per corner so 100mm widening on each axle mark

Spot on iann, I filled mine in though as I didn't want to fabricate a towing hook

I'm sceptical how the car will perform with those spacers.

There hubcentric on both sides so should be ok. can't handle any worse than it did befor ( very understeery )

The suspension should now be softer with them fitted as the distance between the spring and wheel has increased.

Looks good but if im honest i would get a wider wheel and a very low offset on the rear as its just not enough in my eyes.

Rear new more bigger spacer lol front cooo though

  • Author

I already have a plan for the rear to space it out abit more

Looks brilliant! Keep up the hard work :-)

Quick question can you take out the adjuster on the rear coilovers and just run the spring just like how the standard sping is or will it not sit properley in its cup? it could do with being lower on the rear but there fully wound down allready or will it lower more once the coilovers have been used and settled in? any comments apreciated guys, Thanks

Should settle once its been used. But you can run without the adjusters. I was going to remove mine today but got busy doing other things.

Thanks for the info dan i'll have a go at removing them this weekend then whilst I'm drawing a template for my hub spacers

Looking good. I always wanted to do a rally replica but was put off by the 3.5k skoda wanted for the kit. Fair play to you

Thanks steve, as you can tell from start date of this thread its not been a 2 week job lol and at times I do think to myself is it going to be worth it in the end

It is worth it, it will be a change from all the normal play it safe mods we all do.
