Hatchbacks  yes, but Estates very few still. Not that many Hatchback out in the Countryside, approx.   3 near me over the last year and 1 Audi RS3 up the road from me..

Only seen 1 estate tbh, but give em chance, they havent been out as long have they.

Got 2 RS3's ive seen about town too. Silver and a black one.

Thats where i am anyway. In the Peak District.

Dont see so many R's with the upgraded alloys though. Thatd be my choice.. They look soo much better imo.

Not seen an estate yet but did see my first hatch outside of the VW dealership for a very long time. There was one last night in Plymouth, in red, looked pretty nice.

Other than that Nada down here, seem to be GTI's or GTD's :(

Yeah my uncles got a red one. He likes it.

But yeah.. Plenty of GTD's and GTI's too here.

none of the above have i seen being driven like theyre made to be though. They just pootle about like they could in a 1.2tsi

TBH most of my time is pootling then 10% spirited rest is trying to find a safe space in a car park :(

It is taking over my life like my old G reg BMW 318is did and I vowed never to get so precious over a car again.

I even drive home drop off the Golf and grab either my work van, swmbo's Citigo or the trusty Defender to do the weekly shopping. It is becoming an issue.

I do that with my Fabia though.

In summer ill jump on the VFR to go into town.. Or ill take the work T5. You wont find my fabia in morrisons carpark.. Ever. Haha

There really are some lovely roads around here. I just wonder what the point is for some people.. As they dont seem to ever drive even slightly brisk :D.

My brother used to have a 1997 VFR 750, apart from the small wheeled earlt fireblade he reckoned the VFR was the most bomb proof and accomplished all-round bike he had. He did like the Africa twin too but always ended up on the VFR. He was a Honda man through and through.

Last night on my way back across the moors I had a Clio pushing me, so I used up my 10% of spirited driving, did not see him for over 7 miles until he caught up in my home town in the 30mph zone, where I was pootling again.

Still haven't seen any "R" estates here either.............The dealership has an all black GTD estate tho.........& I regularly see several local MK7R hatch about tho

I was in the GTD estate at the dealers looking at the trim..................I won't complain about the gloss piano black I have (as per the "R")..............that close diamond weave carbon look distracted me & did my head in.............

I saw a similar carbon look on a leather version in the R, not sure its my cup of tea.

Top man (: yeah ive got the 800, not that theres much in it power wise. Theyre all around the 110bhp mark i think. It is quite a good all rounder really. Good for a blast out, but i also did 1400 miles over 2 days in September.

Haa. Didnt stand much chance in a Clio did he ;) haha. Unless it was a 182, but still 120bhp down :D.

I was impressed with my uncles R tbh. Hassle free, not lairy or loud, but quite capable of picking its feet up.

eh??...............now I am confused, didn't realise they also got that?

By the way are the door ambient strips & the strip above the glove box the same matching "open" diamond weave on your car?

I was looking through the window of a 2015 plated R the other day and it had a carbon look on the outer parts of the leather, the centre back and Seat were normal leather unless he/she had a one off inside.

Like this;

IMO it looked a bit plastic/artificial.

Yes...The little trims are a carbon look.

Pity they didn't carry on into the rear with the ambient led strips it looks nice in the front :(

Not just me then thinking VW had gone a bit wonky then!...........

Mind you I have had to retro fit the red door warning lights as these were standard spec on my 14ty old Fabia.................bloody Golf has the coding built into the flipping door control  module also but VW say no.......Audi only in that size car............

Anyway I've retro fitted so much VAG stuff, :sun: even done the rear window fins from the GTD/R/Bluemotion estate.........I can see out of the rear now, keeps the screen cleaner......

You mean the red lights on the door when you open it?

You mean the red lights on the door when you open it?

Yes..............!! Passat has them MK7 Golf doesn't

Also Audi has front & rear door controllers so had front & rear red lights, VW only fit front door controllers' so red lights in front only, however you can cheat & wire between the door lock pin5 & GND.

I frequently pull my door handle and sit wondering to myself whether it has actually opened, now I can know for sure with this red light :D

haha......................seriously, it provides a more useful safety feature so other people can see the door is open at night. Also the white downlight part illuminates the ground between the open door & the car as the door mirror puddle lights can only illuminate the ground on the other side of the door, & your body usually blocks out the interior light from shining on the ground when you get out......

see practical................... B)

The £895 optional pretoria (maybe spelt right.. Who knows..) alloys are really what finishes the car off for me.

They are loads better than the standard wheels but why oh why don't they make them in 18" too?

Still way cheaper to source a brand new car via Broadspeed and Drivethedeal than buying a used ex-demo which might have been thrashed for a couple of thousand miles, and you can choose your own spec

Yeah true. Maybe abit more popular if they did?

Id imagine 19's doesnt do much for the ride :D
