I've had this on mine it went in for the issue but Sod's law it didn't do it for the master tec. They said it got confused and the box which adapts it to your driving style had thought the driving style was the same but I started to drive hard. Has done it since buts all good over all

rerving,

I see in the other thread that you are getting a Replacement Engine.

? How did your DSG Behave after the incident in this post,

& did the DSG require & get a Service Campaign Field Action carried out?

I think mine might be in its way out , it's a '12 cave model with 11k on it but I keep getting false neutrals often when parking and going from reverse to drive, no drive revs rise then BANG into gear.

Still too intermittent to trouble the dealer though

Has your DSG required the Service Campaign Oil change & ECU update, or have you decided not to have it done?

It's not subject to the campaign, all the Ecu has all the up to date software

I had lots of noise coming from clutch packs (heave metallic clunking sound) for a while but then it stopped being noticeable.

Never had any other problems with my DSG. Driving style is mixed, mpg chasing, motorway, very spirited driving, occasional track day.

Have had the gearbox "shunting" and seemingly disengaging roughly at low speed and gears (plus reverse) a couple of times but a blast and ensuring the kickdown is fully used seems to clear it.

Maybe a combination of the mechatronic and low-speed fuelling interacting?

I have had a similar thing happen to me going from D3 into Do sudden loss of power then all of a sudden picks up again..

Bit of a scaremongering misleading thread title, bearing in mind it didn't and hasn't gone bang

I thought it made a 'bang noise', rather than being destroyed like a Grenade in an explosion.

like the 'Bang'  the XDS can make when the TC is on.

I've had 6 speed wet clutch DSG's in two cars covering 93k miles without an issue.

Our Fabia 1.2TSi destroyed it's clutch pack in 13k miles. (7 speed dry clutch DSG)

**** happens!

That is Volkswagen for you, some things are fine, and some are sharn.

You would hope they would publicize their failures more and apologise but that is just not their way.

I did not know there was this issue with the DSG boxes, i had thought of getting one in my next car (for the commute traffice etc), but will look into the issue again when that time comes.

Get six speed DSG not the 7-speed one and you will be fine :)
