5Q0035726G  USB socket cannot be used for Apple CarPlay as it does NOT support iPhones - you can use it for hard drives, pendrives and Android phones. If you want to use Apple CarPlay you need a bit more expensive USB socket 5Q0035726E (or set USB+AUX  5G0035222E) plus much more expensive cables (approx. 45 EUR from VW dealer).

Looks awesome. I am still trying to get Iron Maiden to play in our car, by have come up against a WIFE1 issue. Seems to work fine when I remove that from the car though.

I also considered removal of the WIFE1 component but I found mine was hard-wired to the media selection. It sometimes plays Iron Maiden successfully but reversion to Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Rammstein usually occurs after 30 mins or so.

 

I can live with that, so I've decided its best not to mess with the WIFE1.

Does a VW  MIB STD2 PQ works in a Skoda Octavia MK2?. The unit came from a New Jetta.

You will have red light in buttons and VW logo butbi belive should work. But will not look good within light of other in the car.

Next question... where does one actually buy this unit?

No you can't. 

Android Auto is only with SmartLink with versions C and E.

I didn't mean exactly 5L0035200, if 5L0035200C or 5L0035200E support AA it's fine.
But why it cannot be installed? What should be done?

Because that is not available with that unit. I belive this  could be both HW and SW matter.

I beleive you guys misunderstood each other:

- any version of Bolero (5L0035200/5L0035200A/5L0035200B/5L0035200C/5L0035200D/5L0035200E) or Amundsen (5L0035680/5L0035680A/5L0035680B/5L0035680C/5L0035680D/5L0035680E) can be installed

- only versions from B and above support Android Auto (assuming this feature is activated), lower versions support MirrorLink only

- versions A, C and E support DAB/DAB+

I assumed AA is must and that you wan't DAB..  (nbot sure why io did but as i'm fixed on E/C mayby that is reason...)

If you have OIIFL you might need only new connector.

Amundsen MIB STD2 5L0035680. Without a letter at the end. The protection of the components has been removed. Installed it in the Rapid platform PQ25. I have a few questions:
1) Mirrorlink and headless control are not activated by me. Can I somehow activate them?
2) Is it possible to change the picture of the Yeti?

Amundsen MIB STD2 5L0035680. Без буквы на конце. Защита компонентов была снята. Установил её в Рапид на платформе PQ25. У меня есть несколько вопросов:
1) Миррорлинк и головосое управление у меня не активированы. Можно ли их как-то активировать?

Any of these will fit in my superb 2011? Can i activate CarPlay on it?

SmartLink (AndroidAurto, CarPlay,MirrorLink) is in version with B and above, version without letter and A has only MirrorLink.

Yes will fit your and radio frame if you have Columbus (RNS-510) if not you might need to replace radio frame.

did you use SUDO?

@pab567 what reverse camera do you have? I really like the view angle, it seems OEM to me. I found nothing aftermarket that gets that kind of angle up/down and wide. They all seem "zoomed in", so if you want to see the tip of the bumper, you won't see much beyond few meters behind the car.

I have same camera as @pab567 but n OIIFL Combi and it is very good, you can find it on Aliexpress (fits handle and with SONY module)

1) What is the latest firmware? At me 0136. Sometimes just the volume at inclusion of ignition can be louder or more silently. I read that this is fixed by firmware.
2) How to change the Yeti picture for the parking sensors and the compass (on the map)? If you change to any other, that on the compass the car disappears altogether, and on the partronics is just a black screen.
3) I have a choice of a key when choosing Mirrorlink. Can I somehow activate it? In the odys and vcds found the item, but it does not activate (produces an error).
4) Is it possible to somehow activate voice control? So in the odys and vcds the error is popping up.

4) Can I activate voice control? When activated in ODISe and vcds, an error occurs.
