Old Bluetooth module must be removed and microphone must be connected directly to MIB SYD2 PQ unit

Yes, you will see in screen the car and sensors changing color with proximity.

Yes, steering wheel adapter will work properly.

USB adapter that you have now must be removed and replaced with the one that works with MIB STD2 PQ series.

Pls share your VIN so I can check details of your car configuration.

Looks awesome. I am still trying to get Iron Maiden to play in our car, by have come up against a WIFE1 issue. Seems to work fine when I remove that from the car though.

Thanks,

Regarding the Microphone connection, is an easy procedure? Read some discussion here but the back and forth conversation as my lack of knowledge didn’t suggested me that is the same case for me.

Here is my VIN code:

Microphone is easy, it depends on your harness as they were two ways it was connected (either directly to BT module or directly to radio and then from radio to BT module). If you can make a picture of QUadLOck plug that goes into your radio, from the cable side, focused on green 12-pin connector.

I don't find any incompatibility based on VIN.

SO your microphone goes directly to BT module, you will need to re-wire it to MIB STD2 PQ unit. I usually do it by making two joints in BT connector (pins 8-12 and 9-11) which redirects microphone signal via audio out cable (so you don't need to make new wires between BT module and MIB STD2 PQ unit).

Hi guys, I've just changed my old PDC block (1Z0 919 475 C) with new one (1K8 919 472 B), everything works great except one thing, when I turn off the engine and pull the key out buzzers are still working, then I need to put the ignition on and turn off the sensors on PDC button. Also I have 2 errors, in cluster (1ZO 920 843 M) is error B2001 00 and in parking block is U1121 00. The car is preFL mk2 with MIB2 PQ. Gateway is updated to the BC version, alo I didn't rewire connectors, I've just bought adapter from PQ to MQB.

I am planning on replacing RNS510 in my Sharan with either RNS315 or if I can find one at a reasonable price MIB PQ ST2.

Can you help with the microphone wiring as you've done above?

It currently has the Bluetooth module under the seat.

Your microphone goes to RNS510 and then from RNS510 to BT module

So if I disconnect the Bluetooth module and then replace the radio with an OEM unit with built in Bluetooth, the mic should work fine?

Just installed the MIB STD2 in my 2014 skoda Fabia mk2.

Everything works great, except something that I knew it might happen… the damn clock on the head unit is not reflecting the cluster time. Lots of info around but no clear solution.

The issue is reported as the problem 00:00 to briefly 6:28 time issue

Can somebody help me to flash a 1Z0 920 843 S (2012 Octavia 2 FL) instrument cluster to 1Z0 920 843 T fw 1028?

I have installed a Composition Media unit (5K7 035 200 D) but I have several issues with the MFD and with the radio.

The radio's clock show 0:00.

The MFD frozen with Apple CarPlay text.

My gateway already flashed to 7N0 907 530 BH (with .sgo file) but I don't have .sgo for my instrument cluster.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, did any of you fixed this?

Just got mine. Works great except the clock and my OCD is killing me.

I read that lots of VAG cars started to hav ethe issue like if after 10 years something goes wrong.

It is necessary to change in EEPROM - 0017 dashboard.

In fact, it is necessary to change the date in full. The date consists of 3 bytes. Address 0x22. The current value should be replaced with 00. When 0x20 exceeds 5F, the state stops understanding the date and time.

Thank you for the very clear explanation with pictures.

Can this be done with vagcom or OBDeleven? Or do I need a more skilled software?

You need to get a programmer that can read 24c32 or 24c64 eeprom, maybe a ch341a.

vcds and eleven can't do it.

Oh hell… it looks complex. I may have to live with it since normally I have CarPlay there. Maybe doesn’t worth it on a daily car.

But so far is great that you are posting the solution here and might help others with a clear explanation.

That is very much appreciated.

It's not as complicated as it seems. Or find someone who understands it and has a programmer.

Skoda Octavia 2 instrument cluster removal

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi @pab567 , I have a 6.5” Discover Media MIB Std2 PQ in my 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan, but I am purchasing a 2010 Skoda superb and want to move this unit across into the superb. The display needs some fixing (I think glue is separating in the corner) and I want to change the skin to be Skoda and the buttons/LED’s to be green. Is this something you can help me with?

  1. part number of your MIB STD2 PQ unit?

  2. buttons LEDs change is a hardware mod, 22 LEDS must be exchanged, I use OSRAM LG M67K-G1J2-24

Hi @pab567 ,

Part number is 5C0035680B. SW train: MST2_EU_VW_PQ_P0252T

This unit has been unlocked/CP removed from what I understand.

I have attached a photo showing the screen issue... is it the backlight or something?

I have found a 5L0035680A Skoda unit locally that I may purchase instead, which has DAB, but curious to know what sort of cost would be involved to change mine to the Skoda skin and to swap the LED's.

Forget 5L0035680A, it does NOT support Android Auto neither Apple CarPlay, just MirrorLink which is obsolete and has been abandoned by all phone manufacturers.

Rework of 5C0035680B to Skoda that I make includes:

  1. Firmware upgrade to MST2_EU_VW_PQ_P0480T

  2. Loading modified SKODA HMI from MY18 MQB unit

  3. Patch for Component Protection (CP error remains in diagnostics but unit works normally)

  4. Activation of all supported features (Voice Command, navigation, SmartLink, Sport menu)

  5. Fix for exiting Phone menu in MaxiDot

  6. Change of buttons backlight LEDs from red to green.

The only issue is you are located in Australia and I am in Poland...

Thanks for letting me know that 680A doesn’t have CarPlay! That’s great to know.

I would consider shipping it to Poland for you to do the work… depending on the cost. I have not been able to find any other Skoda units locally at the moment.
