Go into Apps then settings.

look for Factory Settings which should bring up a password box. Enter 123456 as the password then hopefully you should see the Canbus settings.

Ok thanks. I just took my son to rock climbing. I will test as soon as I get out.

  • The job is never finished until you leave DNA behind!

  • Small update as have now gone back in and put a generic external microphone in place. I opted not to put it behind the trim where factory one is as it's blanked off on driver side and didn't think it

  • That screen to map out the steering controls is identical to that on mine.   If you did want to add DAB to it by the way then I can highly recommend the rear amplifier and splitter option.

Guess you found the Octavia. You can try different VW cars like going to the Golf etc. You just need to figure out which works the best for your car.

I guess I have bad karma, nothing is working, no steering wheels control, no radar showing up, no dab, only fm and GPS.

I don't know if it is registering the canbus informations.

Which settings did you put?

Is the head unit connected to the Internet?

Yes it is,

I finally sorted out the canbus issue. I didn't connect the second plug... My bad. Went for Octavia 2017. Now it works.

Need to figure out the dab now. I will install dab z tomorrow and test again

Glad the canbus is now working.

When you say the dab isn't working what do you mean? Is it picking that there is a dab dongle connected?

I launched the stock app and it stayed surching for 10 minutes (the time I need to get to the rock climbing).

By the way, on my way back I had the FM with my stop and start kicking in and out and it didn't cut the sound as you described.

Staring and stopping didn't affect the FM.

You mean it was searching for radio channels or searching for the dongle?

Have you confirmed that the usb is working properly by plugging in a USB drive and seeing that it is showing in the file manager or playing a music file from the USB drive?

Are you using the factory dab aerial or the one supplied with the dongle?

Good to know that you are not having the sound cutout problem, I have a funny feeling that mine is doing it due to my battery voltage dropping to 9volts when starting the car so something I might look into if I can be bothered.

I can't really say, I will check a usb stick with music to see if it works this afternoon.

9V!!! , your batterie is really dead.

I put in a varta AGM a few months ago. It shows 12,8V car off and 14V when driving...

Only drops to 9v when the engine is starting, 12.1v with engine off and 14v when driving.

Ok dab problem solved, one of the Split usb is not working...

On the other it is ok.

I will have to put my original Unit back as I didn't disconnect the stock Bluetooth....

So now the unit is operational, the one thing missing is how to get the drive function to pop up when I press the buttons .

I know that it cycles around the modes as the light turns off when it reaches the normal mode.

Also when I go in the settings, the correct mode is selected and I can manually change theme.

9V on cranking is still way too low, battery is not long for this earth. Tend to leave you stranded with little warning. VARTA AGM one here too, I wouldn't want to be heading into the colder part of year if it's dipping so low! If you use stop/start your battery could be sitting at a fairly low point of charge also if not driven on longer runs regularly, doesn't take much traffic even when fully charged for it to drop right down then just about keep its head above water. I disabled stop/start and put a new battery in as my commute is only 7 miles.

I changed mine when it died on me one day. Luckily I had a booster in my trunk. Changed it the same day. I had been changing it for a few months but it eventually gave up.

Can you tell me which vehicle you set in the canbus?

Octavia 2017 isn't working right.

Simple Octavia the radar doesn't give me distances juste green lignes and the driving mode button doesn't pop up on the screen and the open doors are all wrong.

Going to try golf 7 next

Mines totally different, the same as in the install video. Golf 7 MQB mines set to. Doors opened wrong for me as a RHD car and was able to change in there too to swap them around as drivers door module being on right not left etc.

Ok I'll set golf 7 and let you know

So I set it to Skoda, golf7, Skoda 2017, my radar is just going crazy

On the picture my car is backed against a wall (the wall is behind the car) and it just shows the 2 front side sensors.

Most of the time it shows the sensors with all the green lines out without talking the distance of the obstacle in consideration.

Then it stays on forever

Wagster, you seem to have the same Unit as me. What settings did you put and how do your radars react? Also do you have the driving mode that pops on the screen when you press the button? It works for FUBAR with the golf 7 setting but nothing works for me.

BTW those are not radar they are ultrasonic sensors.

The radar (when fitted) is for ACC and Front Assist and is located in the centre of the front bumper area,

Ok miss translation. In Frances we call them reverse radars (literal translation)

Finally I did a system update then got MQB and now things seem to be in order

It is an update of early December.

Now install Sygic 😀

It's only only the ACC line that the voltage is dropping to 9v. The main 12v feed is steady.

I will investigate a bit further over Christmas.

Mine is currently set to what is in the photo but it works on a few options. Have you tried changing to VW MQB or PQ? Also have you ran the upgrades for the MCU?

All my proximity sensors work as they should.

Yes the driving mode options pop up on the screen when I press the mode butto
