  2. No definitely the R5. I had hopes for the R4 but back seats just as restrictive as R5, boots is good but just not as good a looker as the 5 IMO. Discounts on R4 and availability better accordingly.
  3. I am interested in the upgrades and more so the cheapest of them. Wish Renault brought the "Five" version, was 95 hp, now 107 hp and now FLP which is what I was expecting my 40 /43 kwh version to be.. Should be well under £20k with the EV grant. Not sure Twingo will sell that well. Sandero EV should though. https://media.renault.com/the-renault-5-e-tech-electric-range-gains-fresh-appeal-with-greater-efficiency-range-and-versatility-right-from-entry-level-along-with-new-colours-and-features/?lang=eng Increased range for existing versionsRenault 5 E-Tech electric is now even more versatile. Both battery options – the 40 kWh Urban Range and the 52 kWh Comfort Range – gain increased range through aerodynamic enhancements (lower body and new rearview mirrors) and optimised battery electronics. The 40 kWh Urban Range battery, available with the Evolution and Techno versions and paired with a 90 kW (120 hp) motor, now achieves an WLTP range of up to 315 km, compared with 312 km previously. While the 52 kWh Comfort Range battery, available with the Evolution, Techno, Iconic Cinq and Roland-Garros versions and paired with a 110 kW (150 hp) motor, now achieves a WLTP range of up to 430 km, compared with 410 km previously . An optimised Five versionStill available in the 95 hp / 40 kWh configuration, the current entry-level Five model is set to become more powerful, more efficient and more versatile in just a few weeks. It is set to swap its current powertrain for a new, compact, lightweight 80 kW/110 hp motor, from the same family as Twingo E-Tech electric. It will be powered by a 36.5 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery with cell-to-pack technology, designed to optimise energy density in relation to its size and weight. The result is a WLTP range of up to 305 km, with no compromise on performance since the 0–50 km/h sprint takes just 3.5 seconds, for a responsive and enjoyable driving experience. And for even greater versatility, alongside the 6.6 kW AC onboard charger, the new Five level trim of Renault 5 E-Tech electric will ship as standard with an 80 kW DC charger, allowing it to use fast-charging points.
  4. Toomys in Basildon say that you can have a choice of 5 R5s in approx 2 weeks, or 33 R4s in anything from 2 to 5 weeks time, so maybe lol-lol's dealer was thinking of the R4?
  5. Hi, do you know this 4b module parameters for Skoda compatible with Passat B8 2017? Same module number. I need activated for DLA, i also have A5 camera and high led. i just coded using VCDS. Thank you. If anyone have this parameter can share to me.
  6. Dozens nearly new, demonstrators advertised in the UK. Just in Scotland new in stock, Parks, John Clarks, Arnold Clarks, Vertu etc etc.
  7. Pretty confident if you wanted 2 they would move one.😉
  8. Only 1 R5 in the Midlands that I can see. Being a Baggy i fear for my life going to Dingle Berry land !
  9. I have read that as well. I always use their belts though. I tend to change mine every 5 years or 50-60k whichever comes sooner and so far havent had any problems with their pumps and tensioners. Last one I did was on my old 1.9tdi bxe and the belt, pump and tensioner after 60k were as good as the new ones I fitted. Not sure what water pumps have metal impellers According to google Hepu and Graf have metal impellers but most others are plastic Hepu cat https://www.hepu.de/en/parts-catalogue/ Alasdair
  10. Ok go to renault and get it in a fortnight? https://www.renault.co.uk/new-stock.html?model.code=R5E
  11. Where I live and travel in Scotland from Aberdeen to Dundee to Perth Glasgow or Edinburgh and further north and south there is a total lack of Renault 5 EV,s parked or being driven. I see more Alpines than Renault 5,s . There are Renault dealership's around

  13. Hi there, need advice/help on the following issue on a Roomster 1.4tdi 2007, rear door lock. The original problem: Rear passenger door would not open from either handle. the actuator wasn’t making a squinty noise when unlocking off the key fob/ internal central locking. With the door locked managed to get enough of the door card off to force the lock open. The solution (i thought anyway) Replace the actuator however , every actuator i’ve bought once fitted would not open the door from either handle, but only after the central locking had been engaged. After a lot of wiggling and pulling the on the latches i managed to get the door open to remove the actuator i’m on the 3rd actuator, which is a brand new main dealer part. Same problem, once fitted you can open and close door but when you central lock it you can’t open the door from either handle. eventually after banging the outside of the door the door half opened and then i used a small angled tool to release the latch. i don’t believe all 3 actuators are faulty especially as the current one is brand new. (the previous second hand ones would not even half release by banging the outside of the door like the new one has. I removed the new actuator, and manually simulated the closing of door. i can open it even after i central lock it (remember it is not mounted onto the door). Does anyone have any experience or advice they can offer? thank you
  14. Yes, indeed.
  15. Had a look inside with a Borescope and took these pictures. Definitely some marking on both the valves and the pistons but nothing on the cylinder walls, bad enough to warrant replacing the valves? Not a small job! Also no sign of the piece of spark plug! Working theory is that it's been smashed up inside the cylinder and blown out the back. Next step is to do a compression test.
  16. See my comment above. One might seriously regret putting one's deposit down. 38% of customers on Trust Pilot only give this dealer 1 star..... https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.cars2.co.uk?stars=1
  17. I will check the Moduls for you, to all setting on the table and send you with the Other Things
  18. Could be wrong and doing a disservice but there are a bunch of dealers who say that can get you a car, take your deposit and only fulfill the order weeks or months later. This might be one of those case as I gather they are clustered together in a certain part of the UK !
  19. Sounds very tempting. I’ll have a search and see what the control modules would cost. Wiring harness is £40 from Ali. Success with the parking sensor retrofit. Just a bit of coding to tidy up.
  20. I tend to concentrate on the numbers rather than the text. Comments are deductions and not hard facts like the numbers of the 1.8M sample stating EVs drove 444 miles more than ICE on average. The good point is that driving miles were down thru Covid and have remained lower since the Covid outbreak. One also hears, supported by numbers who are visiting camp sites, towing and not towing, were down and the cost of driving to them due to petrol and diesel prices was a major factor being mentioned. If one has chosen an EV camper, ID Buzz, PV5 and now the PV7 coming out next week, this may not be anything like the issues with cost for putting in the go-go juice being so different EV to ICE.
  21. We have some success! New module works without any dataset changes required. No DTC on park assist module. However I do have 2 DTC on module 17. I did enable byte 5 bit 4 as per some instructions I found online, but carscanner doesn’t have the same long coding helper that vcds does so I may have done it wrong. @Cairus can you tell from the following what I’ve done wrong? 22. So it would appear that the dealer misinformed lol-lol then. I just accepted that he was right🙄
  23. Hey Alasdair, How you doing? I asked on FB too and read that Gates are good on the belts but outsourced the other parts in recent years and gone downhill. I threw it in Google AI and said the same. INA has been recommended as the top kit you can get

  26. My Citigo has suffered the not too uncommon issue of the hose supplying water to the rear washer splitting inside the rubber connector between the body and hatch caused, I believe, by opening and closing the hatch putting it under stress. Having got that waffle out the way I was going to just insert a connector but that may well make it less flexible and cause another split so perhaps replace the whole hose. After a bit of dismantling I have found it in the roof lining by the rear hatch where it plugs into a connector. So 2 questions, can I just replace that length of hose (approx 1.5m) and if so is it 5mm internal diameter or second idea, anyone know the part number of that piece of pipe with the connectors so it can be ordered off Skoda? After that I'll bail out the water in the rear hatch!
  27. Have used Gates belts and kits for 40 years plus on loads of different cars etc and never had a problem. Alasdair
