Ever seen a Tesla Roadster? Well, there is one here that is in quite a bad way, but it seems is in safe hands if he can get the parts. Tesla has none, apparently. This should be a good one to follow progress on.

Also i found that the oil temp readings on the maxidot display are exactly the same that obd11 shows, of course the maxidot only shows oil temps starting at 50Celsius. The coolant temp needle isnt as accurate as obd11 shows, i think in most cars the needle works that way that the real temp could be between 80-95 and the needle stays at 12'o clock

You could run the webasto pump via obd11 for some time with the coolant bottle cap off and see if the coolant level goes down or air bubbles come out the bottle. Also if you havent used the webasto after you changed the pump run the webasto heater for one time

I think that number 15 is the dsg thermostat

Probably just his metal pipe that runs across the back of the engine, or one of the connections where rubber hoses join onto it? Can't view your video unfortunately. Seems like wishful thinking that you'll get far without removing intake manifold. That's probably not too difficult, especially if you can get some light behind there and have a 'mirror on a stick'.

Have not seen any recent updates date with Anazon but mulyblad works for one of the other big parcel operators. They are developing optimal tactics and they face similar issues with thd more remote areas and electric vehicles. In urban areas the EVs are clear winners increasingly on cost with diesel prices going thru the roof. The tri county area here, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire have some remote places to deliver too. Not so bad in summer but the challenge comes more so in winter time. With ranges on the EVs lower the ICE vehicles have advantage with all the waste heat they produce where EVs ecen with heat pumps have significant range reduction and running costs narrow but eith vastly elevated diesel cost the numbers need to be re run. My lads company will open up intermediate depots during the winter months. The reason I suspect are several and the busier times with Nov, Dec, Jan sales as well as travelling issues are all factors. But as above each year the EV vans are getting 10 to 20% better range but also cheaper whereas ICE vehicles seem to have pretty much flattened in their performance though i am trying to read up on the next generation of hybrids but the jury seems to be out on just how good they are compared to full BEVs.

Is that what a reliable source is saying about the ferries range? Like most electric vehicles its performance could be much less in the winter than summer unless they have a batteries condition routine in the winter time to get the batterues in tge optimum temperature like we do with our EV cars that have battery preconditioning. Oil driven ships gave RAS, replacement at sea, military vessel ms oftvhave woeful ranges compared to merchant vessels. Good thing about Electric vehicles in the battery tech, energy density ans lower costs are heading up for density and down for costs by about 10 to 20% per year so any shortage in performance in the battery pack could be addressed quite quickly. It is not like marjne diesel engines which are generally in for the life of the vessel and scrapped with the vessel.

Thanks, these are great suggestions! Now that you mention it, I have removed the webasto (or aux. heating) waterpump and never bled the coolant system after that. Maybe that could be the issue instead of an open thermostat? I also own an OBD11 but I've never looked at the readings for the coolant or oil temp, will try that. I might also try and bleed the system, see if that helps. If I decide to change the thermostat I'm gonna let a mechanic do it. I've spent the entire summer working on my cars this summer in my driveway, and draining coolant is so messy lol. But I'm glad you managed to do it yourself!

Hi. I had the same symptoms in my 2015 2.0 Vrs Tdi manual gearbox, last year with about 225kkm back then. The car took really long to reach operating temp and i logged my car with obd11 while driving, my coolant temp never got over 82Celsius even in summer so my thermostat had stuck open. I changed by myself a new OE Gates thermostat and also emptied the whole coolant system of the original G13 coolant and changed it to the new G12 Evo variant. The filling of the new coolant and getting air out of the system was pretty fiddly because you have to use something like Vagcom or obd11 to run all the electric waterpumps in the system, my car has four pumps: the main water pump driven by the cambelt, it has an electrially operated "sleeve", an auxiliary heating pump, charge air cooler pump and my car has factory webasto, it has also its own. There is also a procedure in vagcom and obd11 where the car runs the air purging process in the main coolant circuit and the secondary ones. You really need to do these so no air is left in the system. I would say almost certain that in a manual car there is only one thermostat in the engine. Also you could check that after a hard motorway drive your upper radiator hose should feel hot, dont burn your hand and if your fan is on watch for your fingers. Also you could check if your coolant temp sensor is giving logical readings if you have access to an obd tester.

Usb C is the secret. If its got one of those its a mib3. You come across people who don't have navigation but that not in the UK. Cut down infotainment unit. Best of luck. It can take a time to do it. I could go on, but its the wrong thread. 🫢

I've not had the AC checked for leaks, but it works fine. I have changed the pollen filter. I have not noticed any drips under the car for a while, which makes me think that a blocked drain is likely. Where is the drain hose from the AC?

Thanks,I’ve just finished downloading from the update portal, this is how I used to do it with a previous Octavia, been away from ŠKODA for a while & just bought a Karoq 1.5 tsi sportline, Dsg, the head unit has the knobs on it even though I’m assured it’s a Columbus & got the usb c ports in the cubby in front of the gear lever, I keep getting pop ups asking to update the software, so the sim must still be working

You do use that usb indeed. There is a pdf of how to do it. Attached is the VW... same as the Skoda. You have jumped threads thou this is mib2 high but you are asking instructions on mib3. I have answered that here but on the wrong thread mind you. Assume you don't have the connected service contract hence you are taking the file update approach. I have a Karoq 2021 71 plate & it has I Believe the Mib3 Columbus unit, it has no sd card slot,do I just use the usb inputs to install the file, I’m currently downloading the ECE 26.6 map update on the ŠKODA update portal

When I change my struts from Amazon did not see any springs like that I managed to do it by pulling back the rear trim and disconnecting the wiring connector inside the back trim

Hello Our 2014 Skoda fabia 1.6tdi has developed it's third injector issue and the problem is we're currently in Madrid (from Exeter). The coil warning came on about 150km ago with the familiar rattle and we turned it off and on again and we're able to continue gingerly. We're due to drive back to the UK from here over the next two days but now worry this will just reoccur more seriously in a few hundred km or less. So our only option is to either find a garage here or risk it and rely on the breakdown cover if anything happens. If anyone has a suggestion then we'd be all ears as it's been so stressful I can't think!

Are your headlamps projector headlamps with an H7 halogen bulb in them or are they projectors with a Xenon gas discharge bulb (D2S bulb)? Do you have headlight washers fitted as standard at the factory? Edit never mind you said they're halogens. If they have the projector style fitting, they're crap. You might as well have a pair of old carriage lamps on your bumper. Hi there, I've got myself a rather fantastic coolant leak. It literally drips out as soon as I fill the expansion tank. The leak is coming from somewhere under the air inlet manifold. It's dripping down onto/around the coupling for the thermostat and coolant delivery pipe (?) that runs along the engine block under the inlet manifold. Video in link: I'm getting a cheap endoscope to try see more as I just can't face pulling the manifold off. But is this gonna be a cracked cylinder head/gasket that's letting this by?
