  2. Got self-adhesive laser cutted liners for Karoq from a local company 😍
  3. . They look really good. Especially the door pocket liners. I'd have a set of those in a flash. As far as I'm aware you can't get anything like those in the UK, though I'd be c*ck-a-hoop if someone knows better. Does your local company have a website, by any chance? Might they be persuaded to ship abroad? .

AR-1 now on the car, much more grip from the start, doesn't have to wait two laps to make time. Here are the links for the youtube videos of this month trackdays

  8. Why do you want regular feedback? What difference does it make to you if a dealer says "I'll contact you when we have an update" or says " I'll contact you every week with a status report"? It won't make the car arrive any sooner, you won't have any more details, you won't know the expected delivery date any time sooner, so what's the point of regular feedback?
  9. There’s posts on here somewhere about doing the fix yourself with washing up sponges
  10. Had a go at adjusting the linkages on the gearbox, very easy job. Hardest part was removing the airbox and battery to get to them. Greased some bits on top of the gearbox and sprayed ptfe spray on the ball socket in the car. Have to say for a few hours work its made this car SO much smoother changing gears, always took a while to get into fifth gear, and reverse could be a bit of a pain too. Now it feels almost buttery smooth getting into any gear, almost exactly what I was looking for. On the topic of gearbox stuff, short shifter never came, complete and utter ****show with customs had it sent back to england. Got my money back anyway which has paid for another thing that should hopefully be coming next week. Hopefully. But honestly now with everything greased up and aligned I'm glad It didnt come, no need for it now. I have a plan for the bushings on the cable ends. The ones on the car feel really soft and while I know some companies do make metal bushings to replace the ones on the car, I think I might be able to tighten them up a bit without spending much at all to do it. Next day i'm out I'll tear into the mk1 and see if the cable ends on it are the same as on the mk2 (they should be), I'll remove those, do a bit of work on them and swap them into this and see if it makes any difference. Can't hurt anyway. Also, found my vRS intake was rubbing against some coolant hoses. Not too bad yet so I simply put some of that heat tape over the rub spots as a layer of protection for the hoses. When I was so far in the car I checked the turbo out, feels like its in good shape still touch wood. When I did that turbo damper "mod" ages ago I cleaned out the intake hose and infront of the turbo of oil coming from the breather, and there was a fair bit of oily goop. Checked it today and there was barely any goop there to clean up. Fairly productive evening then.
  11. Looking well for its age, only thing I would do is get some mudguards. Even the universal moulded ones are fine. Imagine it might be a bit hard to get original mudguards for a mk1 these days. Otherwise I'd save up over winter and get some new shocks/springs in it, definately makes a big difference from worn out original stuff. You never know, might find yourself some low mileage shocks/springs on Facebook Marketplace and the likes. Worth a shout anyhow.
  12. No sorry I don't and I might have given you a bum steer there as I can't find it only a valve (which I'd have thought would lead to a drain passage/tube(?)) perhaps forget that and cross that bridge if you come to it as I'd guess the exit is under the car too. Just seen run4mo's post and my guess would have been just r/h/s of centre width line of car but sheer guess that could well be wrong. Thinking about it you'd probably have to remove the wiper arm(s) to get the plastic cover off but there enough flex to get in there, employee a small child if need be. I've never cleared the drain channels on the Fabia as although it permanently sits outside it's rarely under trees, if it's like others I've done care, time and patience pays, doesn't have to be a lot of time or patience but not rush or Billy-big-*******s look how clever I am in how fast I can do this (not always very well or balls something up). If you can sort it and post photos we'll all know for future reference. Why these things are so top secret is always beyond me, should be in the Driver's Handbook. VAG are just so full of secrets! 😁
  13. The AC condensate drain is located on the engine side of the bulkhead "well down towards the centre from the LHS" but it is covered by the sound proofing which makes things a bit tricky to uncover/reveal. Normal when it chokes the water drain to the inside of the car but probably not via the pollen filter. I'm sure that I've looked at this on a same age Polo, and the rearmost edge of the water deflector slides into and grips under the windscreen area, one way to remove that side is to use a loop made of a cable tie and loop it over one end/side and pull from same the RHS to the centre and repeat that form the LHS - I've not bother to put that to the test, if the Fabia is the same as the Polo I don't know but I'd image it would be, so I've just forced a hand and arm under that cover if and when I've had to. We garage our cars so not much ends up down there, but anyone that parks their car outside and near trees hedges etc should check that area once a year and cleared of any nasty stuff.

  17. That might still be OK. Piggy-back fuseholder (example) in that position 30 with 15Amp fuses in both parts, then cut up a spare fuse to leave just one bare contact and solder it carefully to the end of the wire coming off the piggyback. Make sure the whole part that normally goes into the fuseholder is as it was. Plug that into the contact of position 47 that isn't always live (the one going off to the accessory socket).

  22. Different engine maps, and maybe, repeat maybe, camshafts. Beyond that, if I may, won't the Webasto make the car more saleable in future even if you don't need it?
  23. Nice thanks, I've ordered one of these 🎉 Will have to wait till next week for it to arrive and try it out. That gives me the weekend to resurrect an old Windows laptop 😬 See you on the other side 👋
  24. Cable example: VW Audi Seat Skoda USB Interface for VAG-COM 409.1 or VCDS Lite - most VAG 1996-2003 (gendan.co.uk) (what I have). Cheaper ones can be had via ebay, but can't make any specific recommendations. Avoid ones that come with software on CD, likely to bring spyware with them, and the software is a free download! Software Ross-Tech: VCDS-Lite: Download Ross-tech's function chart (Functions - Ross-Tech Wiki) suggests that Lite can do coding even in its unregistered state, but I can't personally confirm that as I have registered mine and never tried beforehand. Well worth trying to do what you need on the unregistered version, it'll just be greyed out if you can't do something, I guess.
  25. This is absolutely extraordinary, I must be the only person here who has actually USED Rivnuts and I can categorically tell you that they are plenty strong enough because the bolt you wind into the set Rivnut actually tightens the fixing clamping it even harder.
  26. Depends on whether you want to use solar or a smart charging tariff in the future. If you have any intention of using solar, look at a Zappi or similar. Do not get a Podpoint as they are incapable of moderating charge rate to just use your solar power. If you're using a tariff that has cheaper power at a fixed time of day (I have 5p/kWh overnight on Octopus Go) any schedulable charger is fine. Podpoint is OK for this. There will be more sophisticated tariffs coming - for example https://octopus.energy/intelligent-octopus/ or Agile Octopus - where the cheap car charging period changes according to demand. for these you need a proeprly smart charger and Intelligent Octopus only works with one for the time being. I think complex tariffs and solar compatibility are essential as different charges at different times of day will increasingly be the normand will certainly be the cheap way to go.
  27. Just did a 100 miles run, it actually sounds like the rear drivers door is not latched, fingers crossed for Monday and the dealer check
  28. https://www.graficar.com.tr/product/skoda-karoq-konfor-seti They ship worldwide, EN version of the website is available. They are using my pics in their website 😃
  29. Not quite. More expensive cars are more likely to be "prioritised" by car manufacturers for two reasons. 1. They make more money on them 2. In absolute terms they help cashflow (as irrespective of point 1 above, by definition selling them means more money into the company) The argument to the counter is that, generally speaking, more expensive cars need more chips (but incrementally not more to offset 1 and 2 above). In terms of Skoda, I would think that, given the above, the Kodiaq would be prioritised. I wouldn't want to be waiting on an Octavia at the moment.
  30. Quick snap from inside the front door. Morning beading.

The Audi has had so much done now since the last update. Serviced by me, New disks / pads and front brake calipers ABS Sensor replaced Cambelt and tensioners done New tyres all round. All this work resulted in a clean MOT a few weeks ago, and it's hardly been driven since.
  45. Hi, what are you saying about this on Superb III Combi 2020 L&K? Is it in tolerance of factory, or it is definitely bad fitted front doors? Look at this rubber and bad alignment and this which is aligned correctly: And what about this in the bottom? It is not in same level, front doors are little bit to the outer side. Car was bought as new (~8000km) and seller told that it is accident-free. Your thoughts and your photos please. Thank you

  49. @Kenny R that's quite promising! It leads me into my answer to @SashaGrace response... I'd not even consider putting it up for private sale to be honest. Partly for the reasons you outline but mainly because I can't stand the kind of people you have to deal with. I've been buying and selling cars and motorbikes of my own for over 20 years now and the hassle and bother I've had over £100 let alone £18k is unbearable. There are some good people out there but its a pit of idiocy and scum. I remember I was selling my hayabusa, I was in the pub watching the football and some geordie bloke rang me up telling me he could get them 'much cheaper' where he was and he could only give me 2.5k for it, he would come get it that day, when I declined he gave me all sorts of abuse. I sold it on ebay for 5k but these people exist. I'm sat with 2 guitar amps I'm selling and I'd rather take the loss than put them on ebay lol I would look to shift it onto WBAC or Arnold Clark or similar. It has got another 6 months on the warranty and it's mint but I don't want the bother you get waiting for that right person to come along.
