Goodby old VRS, hello new VRS - first impressions, brilliant - a big step up!
  2. As others, read the written terms and conditions, and especially any exclusions, very carefully before agreeing to this.
  3. Interesting clouds this morning
  4. Hot made no difference, but putting the car level did. My front only has a slight slope, down on the battery side, but that made 300ml difference. So I vacuumed a bit out and now it's sitting towards the top of the hash area, with say a mm spare, when hot, level and rested for 5 mins. I won't make that mistake again. So it seems 3.9L is correct.
  5. When Hyundai released official consumption data for models of their Hybrid Ionic (I think) I was surprised at how much difference there was between the lower spec model with relatively skinny small wheel/tyres and the higher spec 'sporty' model with larger wheel and wider low profile tyre. These were derived in laboratory conditions but not far short of what the OP seems to be experiencing.

Yeah, it all boils down to Skoda at the end of the day. I've been at the dealer - they have shown me on screen what information they have - not much. I've written a polite, but confronting letter to the local importer. Not that I demand my car ahead of the queue, but they should do a better job of managing customer expectations and providing at least some feedback and status updates on the order. They replied back that they are sorry, but, quote "...currently all the processes are not normal." At least they've promised to forward my feedback to Skoda. If we complain to manufacturer directly or via importers/dealers that will probably not make our cars come sooner. But just maybe that will help folks at Skoda to see that customers are not happy and they need to do a better job in terms of providing timely and accurate information
  7. VCDS Version 20.4.2 Engine- Advanced Measuring Values: IDE 00433- Oil ash volume IDE 00434- Soot mass calculated IDE 00435- soot mass measured IDE 06059- oil ash mass IDE 06060- filter ash load limit I hope it helps with your car and with your version of VCDS.
  8. Yes it does...but not that much, on idle you should get 12-13 hpa. What is your value now?
  9. I got an update from my dealer. Order date June 12th, SportLine 2.0 TSI with a lot of extras: blindspot, 360 cameras, canton, etc. December 17th , dealer offered to remove Canton from the extras list to speed up production. January 11th, got unconfirmed production week - 4 January 27th, car is in production, estimated delivery date to Latvia - 2-3 weeks.

That's actually what the garage recommended on the phone so they're going to give me a price when I drop it in.
  11. Skoda UK and Skoda main stealers, based on the contents of this site
  12. I had this problem. Took to the dealer who diagnosed old fluid, this was changed. It did not make any difference. Second attempt slave cylinder was changed .This fixed it
  13. Okay, so I got the car used pretty recently (like a month ago) but due to exams, I had to postpone all the maintenance. So this weekend I changed the oil, filters and the CTS, but no other electrical device. I followed your advice and bought one from Hella (it was still fairly cheap, but Hella makes good quality parts, right?). So after changing oil, I removed the air filter housing, removed the old sensor and plucked in the new one with a new O-ring - and removed the old one obviously. I then gave it test ride, the dash gauge climbed up to 1/4 - as before. Didn't really think anything of it, since it was pretty short ride. But yesterday I rode for hour and a half and it still climbed only to around 1/4... I haven't checked any reading from the OBD2 (although I have one, but I cannot get it until friday), but now I feel kinda stupid doing this whole thread based on a gauge on a dashboard haha. Yeah, I should probably check the OBD and get back to you all... P.S. This is my first car and I don't know - at least I didn't until like last week - much about car maintenance, but I just wanted to take on the challenge and do as much of the stuff as possible myself, so I'm sorry if I sound like a moron to you...

One SD card slot is for the media, the other one is the Nav. Both cards should come out easy by pushing them in and they click out themselves.
  15. That grey is a nice colour, and I shall be looking out for it, seeing as you are within three miles of me and my white one. 😁
  16. Look forward to seeing it. your car looks fantastic - and I bet it turns heads.
  17. Update. We eventually got around to looking at this again today, I had made some long wooden wedges to slowly exert more force on the tailgate inner panel rather than just pulling and It did come off with more force applied, without damaging it. The rear wiper motor was dead so a used replacement has been ordered from a breakers yard on Ebay. Thanks to all who responded. PS all the spring clips holding the tailgate on have been silicon greased up for future easy removal hopefully. Pete
  18. Bickertons wouldn't do it when I asked them as it's not on the Skoda to-do list. I'm booked in for a service/MOT next month with an indie and they're happy to do it (for a fee, naturally).
  19. Blimey, that's like a Betamax or VHS question!
  20. And from just down the road in Tring...

Congrats! The lights on the previous model are in my opinion really fugly.
  22. Hello Do these take the same connectors as a 2013 Citigo? Thanks Mike

I used the Hammerite underseal with waxoyl. A small tin, which I’m sure is all you’ll need, was about a fiver I think. Bought it from Amazon IIRC. A lump came off the jacking point when I lifted the car to remove the alloys.
  24. I suspect the wheel / tyre combo is quite a lot lighter, which should account for some of the difference.

They lie, because they (dealers) also don't have information and don't want to lose customers. So they say it will be soon and so on.
  26. Yes the VW ID family and other MEB cars do heat the battery at low temps. It is scary the amount of electricity used if both cabin heater and battery heater are running - I have seen 11kW draw while stationary! So power use on a cold commute of under 20 miles is pretty horrendous and the source of much ire from the ID community. VW are aware and claim it will be fixed in a major software update in the spring (too late to test this year!). It makes the car expensive as a commuting tool in winter. My cost for January has averaged 8.8p/mile while summer is more like 6p/mile. VW have stated there will be a service campaign in spring to upgrade a couple of components to make them updatable over the air and replace the 12V batteries with a different type to fix an issue with some cars going flat. At this time V2.4 of the MEB software will be installed to handle the updated bits. Then "shortly" after this V3.0 of the software will be sent out over the air to allegedly fix a bunch of the known issues. (At least this is my understanding of how this will go) So presently bad ju-ju in the cold, but kudos to VW as they seem to be spending quite a bit to get it fixed.

Seems a bit odd that they need to lie unless BMW are directing it. My brother in law is waiting for an X3, the salesman spoke to him at the weekend and told him that his production date jumps from day to day on their system. It has been moving around in both directions and is the same for pretty much every order on the system. My dad has a Ford Kuga coming and the factory gave a March delivery date and have since moved it forwards to mid February along with most orders they had on the system for March, seems Ford have managed to get their house in order atleast whilst the rest of the market is still scrambling around.
  28. I'm an idiot. The pictograms in your second picture do indeed appear on the label. Thanks for taking the trouble.
  29. Showing your age now......... My point (which was a joke) and seems to be misconstrued (as usual ) is that my wife (and "probably a lot" women) really would not notice the cars handling had changed, unless the tyres were all flat!!
  30. Booked the 280 into my local VAG independent garage (a minute from my house!) for the following: Fitting the Koni Special Actives Wheel alignment Haldex service Refit my front bumper undertrays after I ripped them off on a high kerb Possibly remove silicate bag in coolant expansion tank, TBC!
  31. Admittedly not as exciting as new brakes or other upgrades but I did fill it with petrol this morning (Tesco Momentum in case you wondered). 88 quid! 😲 I almost fainted. Maybe next time I fill up I'll start a gofundme page
  32. "Surely with that set up you get rubbish MPG" You'll be surprised when it's not on boost all the time. In other, once I've got the body work/rusty bits sorted... Time will tell.

@szking If you get a puncture the TPMS will give a warning. So put on the tyre / wheel which is an emergency spare and reset the TPMS just as you do if you adjust tyre pressures, fit new tyres or refit the punctured one. That should be it logged to not give a warning, if it does try again. It is the Skoda standard spare tyre size and what is supplied to fit and you to be able to use without a warning. Just the one the Dealer got you is the wrong one.
  34. BCM is the module that controls some of the power distribution and it is it that forces "unwanted" supplies to sleep to minimise battery drain as well as switching of some or most loads. No it is not coding that can be done using VCDS, it is the firmware that gets re-flashed and so when you check that module with VCDS the S/W issue gets changed after a re-flash. Edit:- being able to identify any changes to S/W is quite handy as you can see if the dealership has carried out updates during servicing of cars still under warranty. I asked the service receptionist at the first SEAT dealership I took that car into and he "confirmed" that the techs do not know the S/W changes or if they have been successfully made and the only way that they keep track of S/W updates is by logging them locally - that must be BS as the displayed present S/W issue/build must or should mean something to them if VW Group bother about configuration control. So in answer to my question to them "don't you know if controllers have been updated already as you must need to be able to do that so that you know what route to take to solve known issues?" they just said "no, if in doubt we would just request that S/W update and the online machine only confirms that an update has been passed down to that controller". Sounds like fun but I'd hope the workshop techs know a lot more than that! Yes, very annoying having a car and wondering if it will start after not being used for a few days, after the first unsuccessful fix, where just the clockspring assembly was replaced because they thought it might be causing this problem, we went away on holiday and left this car at the airport carpark, but I put a jump pack in the car, on our return, the car unlocked and almost started once, but not the second time, I trusted it to start and released the key too soon, but the jump pack worked! Sorting this car out became a battle that I was not willing to give up on!
  35. Cars all done totally different to drive the power is continuous not in n out like it was before well 😃
  36. Has the salesperson given you a hard copy of the T&C,s to read before you might enter a Financial / insurance deal?
  37. Hello! I'm new here. I made the account just to give a little hope to those who are still waiting. I visited this forum every day while waiting and got a lot of information and a little hope. My own waiting period was 5 months and now I have been the owner of a škoda for 1.5 weeks. I know how difficult it is to wait, especially when there is no car to move on a daily basis. This is exactly what happened to me. I sold my old car in August 2021, not knowing that there is a shortage of cars. I ordered my Scala on August 13th and the car was to arrive by November of course this did not happen. The first few months were in complete silence, in late october I got the first update. The update was such that there was no update, not even a production week. At the end of November, the initial production week appeared, but nothing definite. December passed in silence. On the third of January I received a call that the car was finally here. I received it on January 12. my order : Scala Ambition 1.0 TSI 81kW DSG - steel gray Extras: -Net partition between luggage compartment and passenger compartment for my dog -Heated windscreen - Parking sensors at the rear -Wireless SmartLink for Apple CarPlay: -Black 16 "light alloy wheels HOEDUS AERO, tires 205/55 R16 -Automatic dual-zone air conditioning" CLIMATRONIC " - Luggage compartment mat rubber -Safety package, rubber mats, vehicle -winter tires Hopefully you get yours soon!
  38. So, my Fabia III estate in Denim Blue has passed the baton to …
  39. Hey!! soo I received my H&R springs and Eibach spacers (10mm/15mm) and had them done yesterday 😈😏 My car has DCC and I did all works in Skoda official dealership. I can say I thought the ride will be harsh but to my surprise - it almost did not change!! What i noticed is no more stupid roll-overs on comfort, car handles tight and awsome. As sport car should handle 😈 regarding DCC settings - feeling is that every mode got a lil bit stiffer, like 10-20% tops. For me - its advantage and nice thing 😅 of course springs need to adjust properly over the week but overall - car looks SO MUCH better now 😍 Now waiting for my Maxton kit to arrive 😅 below pics before and after + some extras 😈 Insta @vrsmk4
  40. First impressions: car feels pretty good, cornering is good, brakes are good, steering is numb as any electric one nowdays, engine feels powerful, dsg is ok, nothing more, once it finds right gear it goes, before that it does take some time. we did almost 200km today after getting the car, i managed to push just around 170km/h, felt like nothing, i wanted more but saw police in waze and here we can only drive 90km/h. interior seems fine for price, audio system is afterthought, they probably spent more time to create fake sound instead of making canton something more than stock sound system, that being said i do not think it is worth to get it, now, my favourite topic- all these aids: lane keep assist - it is annoying, we have pretty bad roads, so we do try to avoid some bad spots going around them and then car thinks i am falling asleep, and it starts to correct me, that is something i would like to keep off all the time for my own safety and my nerves. next, emergency braking, i did not got any input from car other than flashing warning when i stopped aggressively after another car, but that is how we drive, so if that thing does not brake it is ok, it can flash i dont care about that, ACC- that i liked, a lot, takes time to adjust myself and get used to controls but they are fine, and car seems to understand everything there, that is smart feature, seats- after volvo, i could not find comfy position after 200km, will try tomorrow again, memory function is a bit dumb tho- in order to get to my settings i have to hold my assigned number, pressing is not good enough. sound isolation, it is just ok, obviously not german quality but i will not travel 200km/h every day. start stop - seems that this feature can be on, does not bother me much, works fine. Tried to figure out PROFILES, since we will be 2 drivers, so tried to see if there is point to have them if they save seats/mirros, nothing worked yet, again will try tomorrow and see, since we had both keys in car gas tank size is joke, not a deal braker but comparing to old cars 68L this is meh. fake sound is - meh, i have it in normal mode as well. things that i really like, digital dash is amazing, even waze navigation shows up there, BTW- android auto wireless, works flawless. i had issues opening trunk with my feet, not sure why, i thing i have to learn that magic spot.. ========== Overall i am happy, especially considering price of the car. seems like a lot of things that are not so good, but i do understand that its 2021 and aids are there because people stopped thinking at some point so cars have to do that for us, and sound isolation etc, well i did pay just 30k, so that is ok. i would suggest this car for this price range for sure. its midnight and it has been a long day, just wanted to give my opinion, i hope this is understandable i have sold my DSLR so my phone photo skills are what they are
