  1. Well, after a 7 month wait, I picked up my Sportline facelift today. All options present, including Canton, and the electric child locks with the family pack.

I ordered my 1.5SE estate with tow bar fitted in March 21 & was advised Aug21 for delivery. That kept being pushed back with no confirmed build date, until last month when they advised it was being built. Yesterday they said it's waiting to be shipped and I could choose whether to get it as a Feb registration or hold off until March. I hope the wait will be worth it!
  3. A few more from this afternoon .........
  4. Lovely in the afternoon sunshine at Attenborough nature reserve today

from what I can find looks to be 120,000KM or 75,000miles in dusty climates or 210,000km or 130,000miles in "normal" climates, which imo would cover the UK. Certainly should not fail this early.
  6. Also spotted both the RAF and a Ryanair Lear45

I got a pdf in mail and one day later another mail with a link to the Skoda Connect site, urging me to create an account. I did, the same day. Silly me... I can just stand in the rain, looking at a car silhouette on my app that even isn't Octavia. But the rain will hide my tears.

You got an umbrella ! I got some paperwork, I could hide under that in the event of rain I guess

Cam belt failure is very very non discript. what failed, was it the belt -if so, how was it a pulley - if so, how need to know all of this before blame can be placed anywhere at all
  11. Thanks again to everyone, especially the links to YouTube. It turned out to be the pump distribution valve attached to the pump. I replaced the pump assembly with one from gsf, accessing it from the wheel arch after removing the wheel and liner. Not too difficult a job.

Just contacted my dealership to ask if they received any official news (from the factory) concerning any potential further delays generated by the last weekend's fire in Mlada Boleslav. The answer was NO; no info from the factory, no info from Skoda Romania towards local dealers, no obvious changes in the production schedule at the factory... Telling me "you have to wait 1 year for the car" is way better than telling me nothing and keep me in the dark indefinitely...
  13. Best thing to do with a post that doesn't interest you is not reply, obviously. If that's the general consensus, it's soon going to drop out of view. 🙂
  14. Biggest problem for me here is that this was not posted in the existing "VRS Review and Photo post", or the "Fabia Gallery - Mk2" section. Like Sep, I have no interest in how a car looks and visit this forum section to get or give technical support, be that mechanical or electrical (for which I generally rely on the likes of Wino).
  15. I'm back !! Been away from Skoda for a while, but collected this 2.0 Superb Sportline Plus today. Looking forward to using this cracking forum again :-)
  16. Good evening ladies and Gents, thought it was about time i started a thread about my car, i know there's a few fabia's with a similar spec to mine but i "think" i was the first to have the RTMG hybrid in the UK, although theres now quite a lot and some have the upgraded 380rs whereas i have the 360rs, will add photos soon when i get on home laptop. I only ever had one target in mind for the car, to be able to get my kids in it to do dad stuff, then go to Pod and suprise some people. Current spec is as follows. Wossners forged pistons ZRP forged rods Custom/Universal intercooler, Custom 3inch exhaust RTMG 360rs Hybrid turbo with upgraded actuator etc RTMG Diverter RTMG carbon intake RTMG Kevlar clutch RTMG turbo intake pipe RTMG ecu and tcu mapping RTMG battery tray (turns it 90 degrees) RTMG coil pack adapter R8 coil packs AEM water meth setup iBoost boost controller with meth controller as part of it. (brilliant bit of kit, boost by gear/rpm, full obd monitoring etc) 312mm Brakes Corbeau Bucket seats. Full Wrap. Being fitted in 2 weeks, - RTMG valve springs and BC racing BR series coilovers, after that i don't really know what else there is to do on the fabia lol. other than going big turbo but the cost doesn't interest me, thinking of buying a 7 seater then i can put the fabia on a diet.

Yep, I've noticed in my 12 years on here, some do like to see fellow members in predicaments and put the boot in given half a chance............
  18. 1 point
Sadly, certain members here turn into fokwits occasionally and post most unhelpful and unsympathetic comments. Apologies, I hope I don't fall into that category. You are in the realm of building a case against whoever, in the first instance its the seller of the car, Consumer Rights Act. As 6 months has passed the onus will be on you to prove the failure is as a result of some fault or not reasonable. Have you talked to the seller? Did they sell the car with warranty? What was the car described as wrt service history?
  19. 1 point
I would not consider 65k high mileage, irrespective if it's a second hand car or not.
  20. 1 point
Will do, it’s exactly as picture from handbook as in my original post, with individual tyre pressures indicated.
  21. 1 point
To be honest we asked Skoda customer services about the life of the cambelt and was told "I have no clue but I suppose I could find out" so they rejected the claim without the info on the life of the part. Like I say happy to have it recovered from one garage to another if required. I'll talk to my garage tomorrow and ask for full diagnostic info.
  22. 1 point
Was serviced at 20k, 30k, 46k, 60k and 63k. Service records show first 2 were oil services then an extended scope service, then oil and filters change then an oil service. Info came from an VAG specialist garage and its what VAG have informed them.
  23. Excellent service from East Yorkshire Retrofits, had my reversing cam done a couple of months ago.
  24. That's 'cos they stick out and protect the doors... a bit at least, so in theory reduces the risk of expensive body repairs. Or something like that anyway. I'm quite happy without, but you're right, does look nice!
  25. 1 point
Dude, seriously, buy the right size, there's a list in the handbook with the correct tyre pressures. The car is a Polo under the skin, not a Golf.

Of course Skoda dont make many things, but you've only to look at all the brake threads in the Superb 3 forum for instance to realise their rear discs in particular are complete sh1te. Reflects my own experience. Sourced from the cheapest supplier and great for the dealer network who rely on that regular overpriced business. Discs and pads are made in countries all over the world, many including Bosch are made in China as well as Italy. Some brands use multiple suppliers, its very fluid and constantly changing, driven by business economics. There are 3 or so big parent companies that have many sub brands, TMD friction for example https://tmdfriction.com/aftermarket/ aftermarket brembo pads and discs are a Chinese company using the Brembo branding, much like Eicher. I'd like you to prove that statement. Eicher is an Indian brand. Most of their production is in India. Brembo is an Italian brand, their production is worldwide including China https://www.bremboparts.com/europe/en Aftermarket is not the same as OE, they are often better. In the UK, Eurocarparts have exclusive rights to use Pagid branding. Pagid is a brand owned by TMDfriction. All pads have to comply with ECE R90 What is clear is there is a large market in counterfeit pads and discs. Thats why you should never buy from the likes of ebay unless you are absolutely sure of the vendor. Not only unknown quality but very likely non compliant with ECE R90
  27. Greasing rubber to matel bonded suspension bushes is a complete bodge and I don't care that Skoda may sell a special grease or have a TPI saying to do so. Rubber to metal bonded bushes were introduced to create maintenance free suspension free from grease nipples. They slather grease over the bushes because they are allowing metal to metal contact under certain conditions which they should never ever do, the bushes are either worn, incorrectly manufactured or more likely the suspension and bush design is not fit for the purpose. I would use a suitable lubricant to diagnose where the creaking is coming from and then inspect carefully to see where there is metal to metal contact. The bushes will never make any noise in their designed range of movement and articulation, it is why the company who was the major worldwide OE manufacturer for decades and the patent holder was called Silentbloc.
  28. It's in the VCDS tried and tested thread but as said above might differ for the FL models or VRS models. Quoting for above thread: To turn off the dipped beams for CH/LH: Change the following channels: (8)-Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lichtfunktion C 6 from Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv to not active (8)-Leuchte7ABL RB1-Lichtfunktion C 7 from Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv to not active For maximum illumination change the following channels for the LED DRL strip to be 100% brightness for CH/LH only - it wont affect any of the other operations (side light, DRL etc). (10)-Leuchte2SL VLB10-Dimmwert CD 2 from 35% to 100% (10)-Leuchte3SL VRB21-Dimmwert CD 3 from 35% to 100%

My A3 pepperpots came with that size fitted, I had to replace the whole lot with 195 50 15 because they were much too big.
  30. 1 point
Exactly what my dealer said yesterday. I sent them some links about the last weekend fire but they don’t know anything and haven’t received any information from Skoda… Obviously they are up to date but Skoda can’t say to their customers that they will get their car someday in 2023. That would mean a great loss of customers.
  31. I think its only available from dealers or TPS (trade only), ask your mechanic to check.
  32. You're assuming I've checked... 😂 I opened the bonnet for the first time a few days ago to put screen wash in (that tank must be huge - although haven't needed to use it much until recently due to all the good weather this winter!). If the car doesn't tell me there's something wrong with it, I'll assume it's quite happy and so won't check. Except tyre pressures once every few months. And before someone starts having a go... it's a not a classic Jag or anything like that - it's a modern car with a proven, reliable engine that's more than capable of surviving happily without me fussing over it unnecessarily. Edit - oh, and I passed 2,000 miles this week too.
  33. One reason for misfires on the HTPs, though mostly the single-cam 6-valve ones, is exhaust valve damage. This might show up as a lower compression value on that cylinder compared with the other two.
  34. Can you repair the servo pipe better to temporarily ensure that it's not leaking at the cracked sections? Self-amalgamating tape reinforced by a few cable ties is probably better than anything else bodge-wise, and what I've done on my Polo recently as a stop-gap until I replace it. I keep meaning to see if the one on my other Polo is the same and in a better state, as that car's off the road.
  35. Which it what it says in the manual
  36. 1 point
It should definitely…and I totally hear you…the most annoying thing about everything is this lack of information. I hope something will move on soon.
  37. Hello Ahsan I popped up to Newcastle just to see the Angel of the North in person. You've got some stunning scenery on your doorstep 😎 Gaz
  38. That’s what I did with mine, bush by bush, until I had found the culprit. It always seems to be my front left (UK nearside) ARB bush that gets creaky. To be completely sure I took the bush out rotated it and put it back in the opposite way round, which made it silent for quite a while until I bought some new ones. I think the problem seems to be the rubber goes hard over time. Thankfully new bushes and stretch bolts for the ARB are only about £20 or so.
  39. The only time I see these messages is when there are some minor changes to the software, and on inspecting the 'notification' area on the infotainment system they always seem to be connected to the 'shop' area on the system. It's interesting that your software version is 0278 as this is yet another level being installed in the factory but not by dealers! Your maps seem to be updating correctly, but again from my experience this happens in the background without any notifications to the driver unless you actually go to check in the system settings. Chris
  40. Sorry, not wat u want to hear. Again, if u search this forum about retrofitting the facelift taillights, u'll c plenty about the bar itself, including part numbers. No, the bar cannot b done by itself without doing the RVC and boot button. Also the outer pre-facelift taillights r not compatible with the bar trim. I too don't have deep pockets either. So I improvised and made my own chrome trim, that covers the boot, and taillights. My taillights r also vinyl wrapped with a light smoke tint. Stoked with the finish. Confuses the **** out people.

Congrats man. At least Skoda keeps some customers happy. They will need those in the future.
  42. Welcome! From the owners manual:
  43. As I said before MOVE the coil pack to another cylinder & if the fault happens again it should show up with the fault for the cylinder you moved the coil to....then you know its the coil pack. If however the fault still shows as "cyl3" then you know its not the coil pack & its something else...

Comfort edition, (with the Bilstein B4, its not so comfort anymore 😁) Fog lights front and rear, electric mirrors, front electric windows, central locking, power steering, FM/AM antenna, and a small light in the trunk. No A/C, no ABS, no Airbag.
  45. Info is available a few pages back, but it’s a VRS ordered first week in august. Canton, ACC, family and winter packs and a few other bits.
  46. As it has 2 SD slots and no CD drive I think its an Admunsen 2 head unit.
  47. . Hopeless, old fruit. Should have tried harder. Here. .
  48. I know this is from vw, but it may help you in your case against skoda........ sunroof surround - VW Golf R MK7 Chat - VWROC - VW R Owners Club Good luck Red
