  1. This evening's moon is not quite so impressive
  2. kodiaqsportline. It is on variable servicing, and we were told when we purchased it that servicing would be every 20K miles. The car was purchased new in Dec 2019 with a service plan from the dealer (Arnold Clark Skoda in Inverness) for 4 services and 2 MOTs with no time limit. It was serviced after 11 months at 15000 miles, then again at 21 months at 34000 miles. I assumed it would get another service plus MOT towards the end of this year, and the same again towards the end of 2023. That would be 4 services and 2 MOT. As I mentioned earlier, the problem is that it now requires an 'oil service' cost around £180 according to Skoda, after just 4 months and 7000 miles. My suspicion is that they did not reset it follow the last service. N.B. Arnold Clark (AC) Skoda in Inverness went out of business just after we purchased the car, but following confirmation from Skoda UK, (to keep warranty good), it could be serviced by any AC service center so long as Skoda parts were used. Which I assume they have been. So it is being serviced by AC Volvo in Inverness. And when you say "If someone forget to reset the indicator - big deal, nobody should expect a £100 freebie for such a minor oversight", it is a big deal to me if I have to fork out £180 for an oil service after such a short period because someone, (who I paid) forgot to reset the indicator.
  3. My kids do and I want to control windows to stop fighting ! It’s 2022- HAvent had wind down windows for 15 yrs!
  4. 100% wont be a straight swap, Ton of buttons needed coded in there and huge chance that the wiring is different.
  5. @Kobycat The AA responder can check fault codes, check the battery and get the car going. They have all the gear just as the Halfords employee, but have more than ideas and actual training and qualifications.
  6. Thank you so much, man! My wife was choosing the colour, and the interior. Must say, she's got the taste 😛 Btw @Craigzad, awesome photo! 🙂
  7. Got Thule. They look nice as well.
  8. One of the last few pieces of the inside. I Swapped the facias of a facelift citigo so the stereo out the gti will now fit straight in. Dashes are a different shape in facelift up’s whereas citigo kept same dash throughtout. Now it will work with no component protection worries. Also received a steering column cowling today that’s from a facelift as they are different to original. So just need the switches next to heater out of a facelift with the stop start and heated seat buttons to finish off
  9. I purchased a Skoda Karoq in December 2019 with a service contract with local dealer. Car was serviced on 07.10.21 at 33900 miles. Last month, after just 4 months and another 7000 miles, the 'OIL SERVICE' warning appeared. As far as I'm aware, the car is on 'variable' oil service, which means the the service warning will come on when required. (As opposed to 'fixed' service warning of 12K miles) Given that an oil service is well over £100 these days, my question:- "Is 4 months and 7K miles acceptable between oil services?" Or could it be that the dealer did not reset the vehicle computer when it was serviced? Any thoughts or advice on this?

i got a call today, my car has arrived at dealers this morning, it's now waiting for a pdi, she said it wont be done this week but probably next week, then she gave me the usual bull$hit about they are really busy, they just got a large delivery of new cars all waiting for pdi, but i will put you at the top of the list 😀😀😀 so not ready to collect for almost another 2 weeks. but i cant complain, ordered mid october 21, so 5 month wait is fairly quick
  12. We're all VAG customers on here. Well apart from you that is. You however seem to spend all day on this forum corecting others. I've just had a look at the past week - do you realise how many posts you've made? And it's not just replying - it's urls and researching the internet and going over past posts. Makes me wonder what exactly is your game? You seem to love going off a tangents and completely messing up the subject thread. and it's not just Kodiaq or Karoq, it's EVERY topic on Briskoda. Talk about obessive! Who the hell are you? The amount of time you must spend on this forum.... scary !!! As I say with advice like that, no wonder the majority of people have unrealistic expectations.
  13. That's interesting, I've found them to be a massive improvement. Much more and it would be too much for stock springs. 9n my car, it feels like my old cupra Leon with dcc on mid setting. Just realised you're talking about octavia. If it was the vrs, the stock springs are a fair bit stiffer than the superb, so the former B6 would probably be better suited than the konis (as that golf gti owner discovered).
  14. I think I prefer the consistent support of the B6. The actives feel less reliable in their ability to control the wheel movement. When I fitted the B6s to the Octavia it was an instant improvement. Call it 8.5-9/10. In comparison the actives were about 4/10. Compared to 2/10 for the stock. They are better than stock but not as confidence inspiring like the B6s. I'm still considering swapping them out.
  15. Would you not be better asking them?
  16. If you have swapped the EFB battery out and the issue has gone away, that’s an indication the old EFB battery is not performing right. Stop Start not working that often is another indicator of an end of life battery. If you put the EFB back in and the issue returns, it’s definitely the cause and best practice would be to replace it with the same spec, higher rated EFB or pick an AGM of same case size. You can get a charger for it to see if it will recover a little but if it’s not OK in a frequently used car, recharging won’t help so just swap it out anyway. Short term, the standard flooded battery will be ok to use as a substitute but the cars charging set up for EFB will work it harder than the battery spec is designed for. You won’t notice much difference, it just wears out quicker requiring replacement sooner.
  17. Any diagnostic device will talk to the gateway only, in term this will talk to all other modules. The issue with carista is it wont be able to extract all the useful data from a fault packet, sometimes even getting confused and reading the fault code incorrectly.
  18. Hydrogen could power an internal combustion engine and not only work as a fuel cell. A ICE revving is a negative thing for the technically minded compared to the plateau of a EV car. Top two quickest accelerating cars are EVs and ICE cars way behind in the acceleration stakes. I am sure some felt sorry to see steam engines without sealed crankcases ie not seeing those conrods whizzing around. Lots of EVs now do over 300 miles range, bit on the pricey side to buy initially but taken over 3 to 5 years the cost is much easier to deal with. https://ev-database.org/compare/electric-vehicle-longest-range#sort:path~type~order=.erange_real~number~desc|range-slider-range:prev~next=0~1200|range-slider-acceleration:prev~next=2~23|range-slider-topspeed:prev~next=110~450|range-slider-battery:prev~next=10~200|range-slider-towweight:prev~next=0~2500|range-slider-fastcharge:prev~next=0~1500|paging:currentPage=0|paging:number=all Add to this the much less harm EVs do to children and vulnerable health due to the NOX and the banning of Russian oil and doubling of fuel prices should get us to EV land sooner rather than later. Looking to forward to seeing more EV motorcycles, I suspect the riding experience will be pretty awesome.
  19. We would be failing our moral duty of care if we didn't point out when something illegal was being asked about.
  20. If someone forget to reset the indicator - big deal, nobody should expect a £100 freebie for such a minor oversight. Not owning a Skoda, or any VW group car for that matter, am I right to say you have no experience of dealing with VAG dealerships? It's just so wrong to give people unrealistic expectations. OP - whether it be fixed or variable servcing, none of those mileages are making sense to me. You said you bought car in Dec 2019 and you bought a service plan. Was the car new when you bought it and was it the 2yr service plan people are offered with a new car? How many services has the car had since new?
  21. Completed a 400 mile round trip last couple of days, first leg was across mid Wales, return trip via M5 and M4. What a difference, I reckon in the dry my superb is quicker cross country than my octavia, you can hurl it into a bumpy corner without any issues. It's possibly slightly stiffer feeling than the octavia too, but on the motorway it still feels smooth and relaxed. It's actually fun to drive now, whereas before it definitely wasn't.
  22. I like Knipex stuff always good quality, slim and strong! For these "constant tension" pipe clips, I bought a Laser Tools version which is just a "rack" sort of tool, originally for taking the large constant tension clips of the charge pipe on EA211 1.2TSI engine, it also works very well, and as it is short/squat/flat, it came in very handy when slacking off the heater hose on my B8 S4 to slide back far enough to bleed the air of the system, using normal long handled pliers was just too awkward as these clips were partly under an overhang with the firewall in front of them. I've also got pliers that have swivel inserts on the jaws, they were bought for something else, but work on these clips very well, though that pair of pliers were cheap and nasty, but maybe good enough for long enough for a DIYer!! No answer on the extremely small sheared off bolt head other than it looks like a wheel bolt for a roughly 1/6 scale same car!
  23. Exactly the same. She hates black trim. Just ignored her and went black magic sportline anyway. She chose grey for her new car - with chrome trim!
  24. I have no idea if this will work: Ordered August last year.
  25. Norway are sitting on lots and eventually will start mining, and Scotland has as well and that seems to be someones little secret for when Scotland can profit and not have to just allow the UK Government to squander the nations resources.
  26. For video while driving contact MTL. I personaly have this function enabled.. It's qul to have on long drive with kids in car - let's say that the watch some cartoon etc.. But for Android / Apple this can not be done withouth root access to phone device..

  28. i pray and sure its worth the wait, but theres waiting and theres waiting waiting for some its now waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting
  29. I collected my VRS last Friday, so they do arrive eventually 😂 All the options I wanted were included, so nobody needs to worry about Canton not arriving. It’s a fantastic car and well worth the wait. Good luck everyone!
  30. The war in the Ukraine will be a bit of a hindrance to the EU, UK, Europe and global to electrification of transport and battery production. That is unless Ukraine stays under Ukrainian control. https://electrive.com/2021/11/08/european-lithium-secures-ukranian-lithium-deposits/ PS Now the price on nickle is a major issue. It never rains but it pours, but that is why Russia is a true Super Power.
  31. Confirmed by Skoda and VW Group that Enyaq production is stopped from Thursday 3/3/22 due to components from Russia/Ukraine. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/faq-russia-ukraine/ Further down it says It is not feasible to produce incomplete vehicles in this case due to the nature of the missing parts. We are addressing the situation by adjusting our production programme and completing pre-produced cars that are missing the parts we now have sufficient quantities of. Sounds like they need to work out how to get alternative parts, so I would think unlikely to restart soon.
  32. It looks like a really good product and certainly a very good price for a wireless charger accessory, even with the added postage. Thanks for making it available.
  33. This ended up being a damaged wire for the camshaft position sensor - strange that it didn't give any codes.
  34. So I ordered these and installed them today. They're actually better quality than I was expecting: aluminium and fit perfectly to the new style paddles. Good purchase.
  35. Thank you 👍 loveing it so far my first venture into Skoda too coming from various vauxhall corsa models.
  36. If all else fails give this a go https://youtu.be/iA9Sz8RndMo
  37. @Iggy_ZG @Craigzad Scala is a stunning car, looks awsome! Congrats and enjoy
  38. Given that the Scirocco uses a Golf platform and the Fabia is a Polo there's very little chance they'll be a straight swap.
  39. I would really like to get feedback. I sold about 10 charges and received only 2 reviews. Maybe I can make it even better. This is PETG, but the phone in Silicone cover does not slip ---- I'm not trying to make money on this charger, it's just an opportunity to add some convenient functionality at almost the cost of parts. (PCB+cable+Prusament galaxy black+print time 2h+assembly+ebay fee about 5 eur..) First I did it for myself, then for all my friends with the same car. And somehow, over a bottle of beer, we decided that it might be useful for someone else.
  40. I didn’t buy a Superb for belting around twisting roads. It’s a comfortable quieter car than the VRS. Yes the L & K seats are wider and don’t squeeze you in like a an Octy VRS. It does however, fir it’s size, take bends surprisingly well in DCC sport mode. I wouldn’t like to do the same bends without DCC, even with Sportline seat bolsters it will be more of a handful.
  41. Being able to come on this forum and talk about Fabias is worth the price of entry. 😉 Hopefully things like the mats, door sill protectors and cleaning indicate that this one is loved just as much as our other vehicles... it's just that this one is more akin to a careworn teddy bear rather than the figurine in a glass case. It's an offer of a free oil change service and MoT, which I might as well take as it's only due the lesser of the two VAG services for a low-miler anyway this year. It'll get its full inspection service at the interval in 2023. The 3 VAG vehicles I have at the moment are quite different products, but the one common thing seems to be the lower suspension arm bushes. These squeak on all the standard front-end (i.e. not R/S3) MQB-platform cars I've had, including the Fabia... which half qualifies as I believe it has the front section of an MQB platform bolted onto the original Mk1 Fabia chassis?
  42. & i thought Shmee was as annoying as you could get.
  43. I'd love a V60 but boot a lot smaller than Octavia or Superb. I'd really love a V90 cross country, but as long as a bus...and again boot smaller
  44. Hybrid, sooooo yesterday. Fully Charged swipe at them............
  45. Some background on hybrid car users experience. https://octopusev.com/ev-hub/disadvantages-of-hybrid-cars
  46. Put your smartphone away when you are driving, the rubbish that it is telling you is making you anxious! The lambda sensor switches high and low several times a second either side of the Lambda 1.0 stochiometric ratio, your app would have you believe that it is doing it every 10 seconds flipping from a very lean mixture to Lambda 1.0. It simply is not plausible, rubbish in = rubbish out.
  47. Loom swap today old one out swapped the steering column over too to save any coding issues. Added some closed cell foam under the carpet. New one in just dash and all panels to put back in. Stop start module and beats amp to mount under seats, abs sensors to connect up. Aerial to swap and headlining to refit. I’ve got next week off so no more progress till then
  48. This could be due to the battery health, if it has still got its original EFB battery, then it will probably not now be in "tip top" condition, other reasons include normal length of journeys and frequency of use. Edit:- I'm guessing what you really mean is that the car does not "auto stop" most of the time.
