Finally got a hold of her yesterday. 🥳 Mhev so only slight off electric topic! Hope remains! Seems the extended wait was somewhat beneficial in the end for me too as there are front sensors included which was an add on to the Ambition trim at the time I ordered but they seem to be included in the MY23 price packs here now. Now to figure out how to get Skoda Connect up and running.
  2. I have the same 272.sportline plus. Late 2018 68 plate. Velvet red. it is 7speed dq381 better box. Does rev lower at motorway speeds. It has gpf AND it still has exhaust flaps if you are that way inclined lol. Amazing car and mine is lowered on koni special actives with H&R springs and has the box and engine mapped. With r600 induction , Racingline elbow and pipe and turbo muffler delete.. golf club sport discs..370bhp 530nm. And still returns high 30’s sometimes low 40’s on a steady run:
  3. As you can see in the photos below, it's the style of that particular bump stop. It's the sports/lowered suspension version and has a height of about 56mm. The standard ride height version has a height of about 65mm. 56mm sports/lowered suspension bump stop 6Q0412301A https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/6q0412301a?search=OEN+6Q0412301A 65mm standard ride height bump stop 6N0412303A https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/6n0412303a?search=OEN+6N0412303A Skoda parts catalogue 3 6N0412303A rubber stop for shock absorber 2 PR-G01,G02, G05 3 6Q0412301 rubber stop for shock absorber for models with heavy duty suspension 2 PR-G03,G06 3 6Q0412301A rubber stop for shock absorber for sports suspension 2 PR-G04 https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/FAB/225/4/411/411011
  4. Well I didn’t stay away too long! Traded my GTi pp mk7.5 in at the weekend as need a bigger car again. New motor shall be unveiled soon… mk4 VRS 2.0 TSi hatch. Tis not Blue… but Hyper Green, a silly colour 😂 Still got my motec wheels so they’ll be going straight on along with my R600 intake from the golf. ST XA coilovers are on the way along with some Maxton part as well. Photos shall be added soon.

  6. I guess it depends on your expectations, I imagine the 190 TDI pulls very well with a load on the back I think@silver1011 Tows a good size caravan with the 1.4?? 150 and IIRC is perfectly happy with its performance
  7. @silver1011 tows a big van with a 1.4 TSi so I doubt you'd have much issue with a 2.0TSi..
  8. The foam kit including jack and everything except the spare wheel itself might cost about £50 from a Skoda dealer. From ebay it might cost about £100. On ebay, the parts might not have the correct OEM part numbers and might not be correct for the car. 5E3012115A is the OEM part number for just the foam for the full size spare wheel. The similar 5E3012115 (without the A at the end) is just the foam for the skinny space saver wheel. However, check with the dealer to make sure that he supplies the correct parts for your car. skoda parts catalogue https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/OCT/585/0/012/12000 Don't purchase this one in the photo below, as it's only for a skinny space saver wheel (unless that's what you want) 5E3012115A is the foam for a full size spare wheel shown in the photo below (perhaps just 205/60R16 or 205/55R17, maybe not 225/45R18 if the tyre is inflated but maybe 225/45R18 if the tyre is deflated). The 5E3012115A part number might be for just the foam without the jack/tools, etc.
  9. I've got an original 1971 version, and that isn't magnetic. The moral of the story is don't lose a 2p coin down a vent unless it's one of the later copper plated steel versions or you won't be able to retrieve it with a magnet.

  11. I've only ever towed with my Kodiaq so maybe not the best person to compare diesel versus petrol, but as the guys have suggested, my little 150PS 1.4 TSI 4x4 manual with a miserly 250Nm of torque copes really well. It pulls our Bailey Jive (Pursuit) with an MTPLM of just under 1,400kg. There was one occasion on a long motorway incline with a strong headwind where I had to drop from 6th to 5th. Here it is with four passengers, a full boot and full roof box... I can't remember the exact calculations I made, but if I remember correctly I wasn't too far off the 85% car to trailer weight ratio recommendation... I would image with the 2.0 TSI and the benefit of DSG you will be absolutely fine.
  12. Sorted it now, tied a magnet to a thin length of headphone wire, removed the air vent above the radio screen and lowered it down j til I could hear magnet hit the bottom. I drove around a few corners and hit the brakes a little extra to get the coin to move around and luckily it stuck to the magnet. it was a 2p, so relieved this worked I was ready to start taking the dash apart!
  13. That's exactly the reason why I was saying it's not normal... Because most similar cars don't have this effect clearly visible, while other cars have plenty of condensation - when all exposed to similar conditions. I remember @toot was mentioning recently on a different topic: you go through a large parking filled with cars that were there over night in cold, foggy or rainy weather - few cars will show plenty of condensation, but most of them will not. Which would obviously mean that condensation is not a standard feature for all cars, but it's either a design failure of a specific brand on a specific model or a defective headlight. The question I asked weeks ago still remains unanswered by "condensation experts" around here. Where do you draw the line between "normal behavior" and "warranty replacement"? There's no line on the headlight marked "above this limit we replace the headlight", there's no standardization as to what's the outside temperature and the air humidity to achieve a certain amount of "normal condensation". Obviously, the dealer response will vary from dealership to dealership, as it was the case for other obvious fails presented on this forum (e.g. software updates, steering wheel replacement etc.) It's ok, don't panic; you're not expected to understand... p.s. I'm hoping not all of your 9.2k posts are as useful to this forum community as you last posts on this topic...
  14. Very often they only check that they're not too high. They could be pointing at the floor and still pass but you'll have no useful light output.
  15. You are on the current latest version for 02xx versions.
  16. Welcome, it sure does seem you have a fair Skoda collection going on.
  17. Yes I Totally Agree With That 🤪 But For The Superb The Brake Lights Are On The Outer End On Both Sides And Mainly It Is For The OCD Freak Inside Me 😝
  18. because safety, brake lights are better visible with single fog
  19. Well, I think it's another cash cow for the main stealers. All you need is a hygrometer check at 2 years, then annually to a change.
  20. Hi I am SquashyPigeon (Don't ask). I am from NZ but lived here since '99. I'm new to the world of Skoda and am so far impressed! My wheels are: Skoda Superb Estate SE L Executive (2018), 4x4, 2 litre diesel. Looking to make it as reliable and as efficient as possible (But not by just leaving it parked).
  21. Welcome, seems like you have a nice choice of motor there 🤝
  22. Dealer has now commented that it is a known problem for the light housing, not the bulb, to go faulty and cause these types of issues. A new one is on the way but for now I've just left it disconnected.
  23. Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything. Sorry I didn't get a reasonable chance to test the horn on my wife's car with the ignition off, I'll try later just out of curiosity now and let you know. If you've got a good garage that you can trust you're ahead of the game. Plugging in a scan tool or error code reader just looking for error codes can often come up with no errors, as I put it's a diagnostics tool but not the only one, and not always the most appropriate one. An electrical problem like this is best approached as such but I'm sure an auto-electrician would also do a scan to see if anything else comes up in case it's related. Now you see why I put about not taking my terminology as gospel as I have a faithful troll that seems to hang on my every post without reading them properly or in context, that's without him sometimes being wrong, bi-directional scan tool is a term used by others not one I invented. 😁 Modern cars have lots of downsides, especially the VW computer programs, but this could just be a basic problem that would also be on a car from past decades. I'd be very interested to know how this is sorted as my wife has a 2015 Fabia but it's also good to have a solution for all others in the future. Cheers.
  24. the spare wheel is really expensive (220€) from the dealer but the whole kit with tool and surround is surpringsly not (60€)

I was informed that my petrol VRS left the factory 19th November, I collected it 13th December. So, fingers crossed you'll have it very soon. Enjoy 🙂
  26. Brown is generally an earth, black usually an ignition switched 12V. I'd just be pulling (firmly) all the other ones emerging from there, hoping that will bring the brown out. Wherabouts in the UK are you?
  27. That’s probably alright then, I live in Devon, some days my commute is about 3 or 4 miles other days it is 20 odd, but Devon miles so hilly. I appreciate that the superb is a big old barge, but at about 6’6 I need a car that I can drive comfortably. I was just surprised to see the FE so much lower than the fabia was despite the size and weight differences. I know I have a very frugal driving style so didn’t want to go trying to chase down problems that don’t exist. I have no idea about when the spark plugs were changed, that may well be a good shout. It was “serviced” by the dealer when I bought it, I doubt the sparks were done but would assume the air filter was? A while back I had a Peugeot 1.5 diesel (no turbo) that thing was amazing it took an age to get to speed, but I could hit 60+ mpg with it round Devon. Shame the rest of the car fell apart, because the engine was rock solid
  28. As you said, it is probably air pressure valve which is located behind rear bumper I think on the left side 😀
  29. I do trust this garage,I've been going there for many years.
  30. Yep, I have one, DSG is excellent, can be used as an auto or manual
  31. 1. The bug started after approximately one year of ownership, the "Travel Assist Unavailable" + "SOS failure" started popping up sometimes multiple times in a row. The dealership replaced the steering wheel (with the heating option) and updated the software after that, the errors stopped. After around 8 months after the new steering wheel the problems started again and this time the dealership said that they couldn't fix it and that I must wait for the new software update. 2. The bug appears every time the car is started after a minute or two of driving sometimes even on startup. 3. It seems that the bug appears less frequently when the car is completely warmed up (after 10-15 minutes of driving) but it never disappears completely. And it happens less often on the highway than in city driving. 4. The bug happens regardless if I use the Travel Assist or not. 5. I do not have the dongle. 6. The yellow lights for the Travel Assist and SOS Assist errors remain on for a minute or two then disappear, sometimes they disappear instantly. + a couple of other observations, the error messages often coincide with me turning on the indicators in like 1 in 5 times.
  32. Probably depends on your driving. I generally average mid 40's mpg and nearly 50mpg on a not to energetic run with my 1.4tsi Superb. I don't commute (used to be 64-70 miles a day!) anymore but I do have a regular 5 mile journey to my gym so that might keep it higher. One thing of note is it takes nearly 3 miles of the journey on the way there for it to warm up and the trip computer shows mid 30's to start with but is back into the mid 40's by the time I get home. I suspect if you're just driving very short distances the the economy would be in the 30's. I find the 1.4tsi rather load / hill sensitive re economy as well, however nearly 50mpg on a run is amazing for a petrol big bus. Having said that my previous 1.9pd mkI Superb also took ages to warm up
  33. Don't mind admitting that I had to google that
  34. Thank you so much for your inputs! We are very relieved it is not a problem and that we have saved the expenses on getting a mechanic to look at it.
  35. And badging. Wheels make all the difference. L&K spec looks nicer, but one can quite reasonable expect an SE L spec car to be a minicab 😂

  37. Yes the quote was clutch and flywheel. It's in next week for its service and MOT and they're going to test drive it and comment further before I agree to anything. I asked if anything else required not covered under the plan, yes it's due a cambelt that will be a discounted price of £539 because you have the service plan (down from £793). Here's hoping there's no other costs!
  38. Edinburgh airport park and ride. Max charge time before penalty 30 mins. 2 rapid chargers not starting, a Tesla Y plugged into a charger and not charging and the other 2 occupied. After 20 minutes I got on a charger. 23.4 kWh was £8.19. 35 pence a kWH and that takes me 70 miles. Need to use the charger again tomorrow twice to have enough charge to get home. Nearest PodPoint rapid is 50 pence a kWh now.
  39. Hi GordoGT, mine had a cold starting issue, it would (randomly, not every single day) crank a lot before starting. However, it always seemed to start quite violently regardless of this. I seem to remember it used to start smoothly without shaking the whole car. I have since parted with it. I was a great ride, comfortable and economic, but I just couldn't take its quirks anymore. Sticking with the old, trusty Astra until it dies... Cheap to run, super cheap to maintain.
  40. Update - my car is being driven back to me today by the dealer having had its software update. I am told it is all fixed so fingers crossed. I've had a basic spec Karoq courtesy car for the past few days which is good although in my view not as nice as the Superb. To be fair to the dealership since the service manager (rather than the sales person) has been involved they have been good to deal with.
  41. Have you had the beam aim checked?
  42. No but problem is related as disconnecting the nearside boot light fixes the problem. Either the bulb, housing or diode is no good and therefore messing up the electrics. I'm hoping dealer will replace under warranty this week. I will report back to the couple of threads on here...
  43. I've towed with a number of "normal cars", and you want 2 things in the tug:- Tug mass Torque at and around towing revs. You're better placed to know which engine does that better in a Kodiaq than I am.
  44. On a return trip home from Cairnryan a couple of weeks ago, I got an average of 41.09mpg. Delighted with that.
  45. All mounted, tested. Brake pedal feel is the same, braking power is the same i would say under normal driving. I will have soon a track day and then we will see if the bigger surface will help with cooling / brake fade.
  46. Today we test fitted big brakes with a 390mm brake disc. Everything fits more or less, but the gap between the wheel and caliper is to close. Waiting for wheel spacers next week and then will go to MOT to try to atest everything and get it written into the cars papers.
  47. I went for the ST XA suspension as KW did not have anything available at that moment. Now its nearly flush with the tire, but i got like 2 cm more drop back and 1.5 cm up front. I'm really happy with it and there is no ride quality difference from stock. Wheels are 9 wide i think and et43. This is without any spacers. I did not need to have the ACC calibrated, asked in few places including skoda service points. And i can even say that now i have a felling it recognizes the cars better when they are in front. No idea how that works, but again maybe its a felling.
