Skoda have a Audi S8 killer.
  2. WLTP (which applies to all cars not just EVs) is not meant to show what you can get in the real world but to provide a figure from a standardised test so you can compare one car with another. So long as you realise that then it's a useful measure. But I regularly exceed WLTP on the Enyaq in daily driving. Was getting 5.5 m/kWh this morning
  3. Was the transmission in manual or drive when the video was shot? I'm guessing manual as the transmission would normally shift up to 3rd well before 5k rpm if in drive. In manual it will still upshift to 3rd when it gets close to the red line revs. Either way, something is seriously wrong, and I'm not sure why you haven't returned it for a refund. Of course you may have got an exceptionally good deal on the purchase price.
  4. Glorious autumnal colours this afternoon 🍂

I picked up my new Octavia Sportline in Royal Green a few weeks ago. I haven't yet seen another Skoda in this colour, not on the road or at a dealership. Has anyone else got one in this colour or seen another on the road yet?
  6. 2014 Estate, 95K miles, owned by me from new, but KESS system getting erratic, so asking for some advice please. The key fobs were both given new batteries 9 months ago. The keyless unlock/lock has worked faultlessly from new until a week ago. The car always locks/unlocks on the key fob buttons, but: Sometimes the touch to open will not work, (both doors), unlock button works. A few moments or minutes later the touch to lock will not work (both doors), lock button works. Sometimes everything works! When working, the touch commands will work in quick succession if I touch the right spots correctly. I feel the touch sensors on the two front door handles are working, but i also think the sensor that picks the touch up and fires the whole system is intermittent quite suddenly from working 100% to less than 10%. I guess the touch and button signals are not the same circuits? Is there a control unit for this or is it all part of the security/alarm etc system. I presume the button sensor is in the rear view mirror housing? I'm worried the key fob will start to fail too. Any comments please as to an explanation and of course a fix! Might have found the issue just. The fob that is never used (but had it's battery changed same time as the most used fob) seems to work buy the KESSY touch 100%. As it has just sat in the draw since the new battery I presume the battery is stronger than the well used fob. It will work by touch when the used fob fails to respond to touch. Will change the battery in the well used fob. I have tried the 'life-time' batteries at Timpsons and they failed in months, the batteries SKODA dealership uses are much better.
  7. I’ve used both extensively over a number of years/cars. Good All Seasons are plenty good enough to get you home or to the shops. Deep snow up a hill, they’re probably acceptable when it’s fresh, but yes it’d be better on winters. Slush that’s refrozen would be much better on winters. All seasons do have an advantage on our typical wet roads or dry cool vs winters IMHO. Gets very cold or icy and winters win. Both are hugely better than summers in winter though. Essentially how severe is the weather you’re expecting, how often and are you just needing to get home or to travel? Only you can tell, which trade off (storage & changing vs worse performance in more serious conditions) works for you.
  8. They're giving out big deposit contributions, that coupled with the pretty big equity I have in my MK4 is what's temping me, monthly payments are coming out cheaper for the MK4 FL!
  9. No, only the orange glow plug light at first, but it came on after unloading from the recovery vehicle afterwards
  10. Yes, the current CrossClimate 2 is still a good tyre. However.... ... Michelin nearly always cost more than the other top brands. Many times in the past I have been happy to pay that premium for their superior ability or comfort or longevity or whatever. However, with the CrossClimate 2, here and now in late 2024, Michelin is still charging more than other manufacturers for an old design that has been beaten on ability by three newer designs. That is not such a compelling proposition: pay more, get less. Interestingly, Jonathan Benson (tyrereviews.com) found that the Pirelli and the Continental offered better comfort than the Michelin. Yes, some of Bridgestone's summer and Eco tyres are truly terrible.
  11. I had Cross Climate 1s and 2s, on my previous car, didn't notice a difference, although perhaps in hindsight the CC2s might have worn quicker, but theres so many variables with wear rate (road surfaces, tracking , load to say nothing of driving style and roundabouts). 30,000 miles from the CC1s 22,000 from the CC2s which is not in the same league as the Michelin Premacys that were on it from new (50,000 miles) Had Goodyear1 Vector All Seasons on the a previous car and they were excellent in 3-4 inches of snow, and the wet. Brother has Goodyear All Seasons on his Yeti. I'll be switching to All Season as soon as th eoriginal Bridgestone Dueller's get down to 3mm or I discover the limitations.
  12. Holy smoke. Well that is how it is. Lots of earth moved in Australia to get minerals and much else shifted around the world. Nobody is stopping producing batteries or the recycling of them. The Donald says when he is President that they are going to drill baby drill, and frack like they have never fracked before. I do not see him saying to Elon Musk that the production of batteries must stop in the USA and no more EV,s are to be built.
  13. Thanks Ootohere I'm aware of Arturps thread but didn't want to hijack it, because as you spotted it's not in the UK. I wouldn't go as far as to say the dealer was lying, but they have known to be mistaken on many occasions. Also, surely dealers get demonstrators in before general orders are taken?

Here’s my 2.0 Diesel Sportline, just after its first wash after I picked it up at the end of 2021.
  15. As far as I'm aware, the glow plugs are only heating on a start up, especially on cold start - they should not affect engine operation once it is running, I think you should be looking at the injector fault for your breakdown.
  16. The Tyre Section of Briskoda is pretty useful and has the subject of Winter & All Seasons pretty well covered, and brands and types.
  17. @domhnall I did and do know all about how for comparisons. Pretty much all the BEV WLTP,s are battery gross or net, say 50 kWh and say they do 5 miles a kWh. So 50 x 5 =250. But as we know that might really really for many not even be 4 miles a kWh, so 50 x 4 = 200. But really really the average is 3.7 miles a kWh, so 185. maybe at worst in UK cold weather 3.5 miles a kWh. 175 when doing OK. Great to compare once you know which are nearer to the Possible, Tesla, your Skoda or what ever, and Stallantis vehicles maybe nothing like the WLTP figures.
  18. I have 18" Cross Climate 2 on our 2023 1.5 TSi Karoq and older versions are fitted to both our SEAT Mii & FIAT 500. I'm yet to experience much in the way of snow and understand they are now bettered by other options, but nonetheless remain a sold choice for year round use👍
  19. Better safe than sorry . Background to this solution....... Tried the warranty route via all-in-one plan . Initially rejected as was a 'trim " issue . I replied that this is a 'functional ' item and skoda direct said to put claim via dealer and they would treat it as a warranty issue. Surprise ,surprise Skoda refused the claim ! Hence the simple DIY FIX . So don;t waste any time with a claim
  20. Is your 2nd enyaq the 80 ? I bit the bullet and decided to go for an ev with an Enyaq 60 in Sept. So far very happy with it but i haven't yet been far. Seems to suit my average weekly mileage of around 100. to the point where i don't see the need for a7kw charger at home. Do you think I will change my mind when i drive 256 miles to Devon next summer? Once i get there for a fortnight stay i have destination charging for tootling around whilst there too.
  21. Thanks, I should probably have created Thanks, I should probably have created a new thread because the first post was a read herring which is due to the way I read the codes. My own fault and probably derailing the thread a bit now! Gearbox is running fine and only throwing up the one non specific code than now that I'm reading it just turning on the ignition and in park. Engine speed inp.circ P072600 Reckon I have the problem figured out which the main code is P032200 - Ign./distributor Eng.Speed Inp.circ to do with speed/ crankshaft sensor which seems to be a common sensor to fail I'm taking it to a garage next Monday anyway so should get to the bottom of it then.
  22. When I had an automatic dual clutch transmission in which the gearbox and mechatronic unit shared the same oil Oil changes where essential. i would be changing it more often than every 64,000km. I would also add a caveat to that of time and use too. Mainly urban journeys or towing (extra load) mean more gear changes with possible lower miles so at least every three years Gearbox swaff ,small metal filings, will build up on the solenoids making them stick or sluggish and eventually render them useless. (They are magnetic)
  23. Well, taking out the dash is not terrible, but taking apart the cluster is slightly tricky. Anyhow, Best not to cover up the warning light. Its the car trying to tell you something! Best find a friend with ODB11 or VCDS to find out what the actual problem is.
  24. Had the original CCs on a mk2 Octy 4x4 and they were excellent. I'll certainly be going for those or something similar All Season when our current Falkens need replacing. The only downside is they seem to be a bit more expensive than competitors.
  25. Not that size but a 19” on a different vehicle. They’re very good. Had full winters/summers and cc2 on an Octavia and not as good in deep stuff/ice but much much much better than summers. Both the wife and myself run them now as we don’t currently get the snow load to justify two sets of wheels /sensors /storage.

Nice…..I do regret not choosing that green colour with beige interior.
  27. Not sure on your car but i thought the rev limited was at around 4,700 rpm. As it is since you say the dealership has a good DSG mechanic, they should keep you right. Be sure that all is well or maybe just be full of BS. They will be able to explain the fault codes you have, and if you have not cleared them they can and try the car again.
  28. Naturally not driving it to 5k revs ordinarily. Revving it intentionally to demonstrate the issue with the blip/splutter/ engine dieback that is fair less noticeable during normal driving, much more noticeable in sport mode and the video above speaks for itself when revs up above 4k revs.
  29. Was careful to cool it down after each session, not leave the handbrake on etc. Opened the bonnet and let it idle between sessions to cool it as much as possible. Few people came over and had a look, Some very fast cars and drivers, did my best to keep out of the way and keep pace. Didn't want to leave a bad impression. Think I did fairly well for a first time out, the semi slicks were a big help, but otherwise it handled pretty decently for what it is. No calamities, kept a decent pace. Car held up very well all things considered. Was able to drive there, do a lot of laps I think I got roughly 60 laps in all said and done. 1.5 mile course, and get home. Tyres are fairly done for, ridiculous how good they felt. Nearly 171k on it now so it is due another full service. And test soon too.

I have the same car and despite taking seats out many times have never come across anything resembling this. Google image search suggests it might be an upholstery washer? https://upholsterywarehouse.co.uk/products/washers-50mm-diameter
  31. I think he means £200 more than the non-edition what’s left in existing stock models
  32. And the closest I'll get to a Bonfire this week 🔥 😀 20241103_170436.mp4
  33. A couple of shots from a local flower show and a quick visit to Beamish
  34. They have just been facelifted. The only new models coming are BEV,s with the Elroq & Epiq.

It looks like £1 to me. 😉
  36. On my 21 car, the adjustment isn't in settings. It is in Vehicle, then settings, then lights. If you do find it there and change the setting, don't just select and then go back to menu as the setting will not change. You must go back until you are on the menu screen.
  37. This is the lowest I ever went when I had an Enyaq. Timed to perfection as I parked up at home 😁
  38. I had 2 Superb estates, one diesel one petrol and they absolutely lived up to their name. in 2021 I got an Enyaq 80x, much as I liked the Superbs, the Enyaq does the job equally well, but is quieter and smoother, on Wednesday I changed the 80x for a vRS. I’m not going back to ICE, there is nothing an ICE can do that an Enyaq can’t, not load lugging, not long distance (>600miles), not comfort, I proved this over 3 years. For clarity my cars are not company cars.
  39. Please post the VCDS scan data.
  40. I plan but the plan never works out. On the latest trip (Livingston to Kidderminster at 300 miles) I planned to stop at Preston, but by Carlisle my big mug of coffee 3 hours earlier meant I nearly wet myself by the time I got to the Tesla chargers at Todhills. Then the car was too full to charge at Preston and the traffic on the M6 was so bad that by the time I got to Stafford it was close to 2pm and I was ravenous (plus my bladder was urging me to stop). So my plan just went out of the window and I went with what the car told me was available.
  41. Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works However since last year the costs for my official access has really increased to an absolutely crazy amount, hence why I ask a small fee. I can't do this for free anymore. If you don't want to pay a fee, fine no problem for me.
  42. Hello Eddie, welcome to the forum. That symbol is, as you thought, an indication that you may be too close to the vehicle in front - this indication is from the front assist radar system, the same sensor that performs emergency avoidance braking if the system thinks a collision is imminent. Retrofitting ACC when you have standard CC will require (at least) a replacement control stalk - and possibly other hardware changes.
  43. My 2.0tdi estate came with Cross Climate 1's which i didn't rate in the wet and when it came time to change them I was looking for something else. But the Cross Climate 2's came out and the reports were their wet handling is much improved, as is aquaplaning resistance. I was glad I tried them, they're a great all around tyre but esppecially good int he cold/wet. I'm a service engineer, driving between 20k - 50k miles per year, often on nightshift, driving cross country, here in cold/wet Scotland, so I am picky !
  44. Sorry - I can't see an edit button... What I said here isn't quite right. So the lights work with the doors as they should, which is the main thing. The lights work in the 'on' position too, which is great. The 'off' position doesn't work though, so if the doors are open, the lights can't be turned off. They do still time out though after a few minutes, so it's no big deal.
  45. That's as registered outside the vehicle rather than inside the cabin. My previous Dunlop SportMaxx2s are listed between 68 - 70db and were quite noisy. Current Michelin CrossClimate 2s are listed as 69-71db and are MUCH quieter. Go figure!
  46. It doesn’t need to be “mapped out” We can add the option to switch between ACC and standard cruise control for you. That way nothing is lost, and the option is always there
  47. Unintentionally pressed the tailgate button. Pressed again to stop it opening. I decided to drive on a short distance to find somewhere quieter to deal with the tailgate, and found it closed itself when driving off.
