Mine went a couple of days ago and not willing to simply fork out £££ for a new unit, which would also have needed coding in, and baulking at the £60+ most are asking just for a replacement ribbon cable, I checked out some Youtube videos on repairing it and decided it was no big deal so with nothing to lose I dived in. The hardest bit turned out to be scraping clean the fresh end of the cable in preparation for soldering but it only took patience a light touch with a new Stanley knife blade. Unlike any of the videos I watched I replaced the little white bridge piece, Start to finish the job took about 2.5 hours. I can post some links to relevant videos if anyone want's them.

Good news! Your 2013 CitiGo is, according to the Philips compatibility checker, type approved to use their H4 LED bulbs. That said, you will need to double check yourself to make absolutely certain. Eureka and Hallelujah! Finally I managed to download / extract / install ECE 2025 on my Superb Combi Columbus SatNav! My thanks go to @100andthirty and @AlistairCookie for the tip to use "7-Zip" to extract files from the ECE 2025 download instead of the built-in extraction software from Windows! 👍 So it appears to me that the problem is not with Skoda but with Microsoft Windows (in my case Windows 10). The 7-Zip program is free to download and use!

Unzip to your hard drive first, then move to USB. Also, try with 7Zip rather than the baked-in Windows tool - I hit the same error using the latter, no problems with 7Zip.

My car (a 2023 Mk.4 iV) very occasionally does this, so on roads where I know the speed limit, I quickly use the ACC stalk to set the correct speed. It's helpful that the "cockpit" speedometer displays all these different settings. What my ACC/PCC also does, though much less often, is to change its "speed limit" to the (incorrect) one stored in the navigation system. Sometimes this data is many years out of date and applies to only sections of the road, even the whole road has always had the same limit along its whole length, whatever the speed limit is/was at the time.

@Breezy_Pete >Dashcams plugged into outlets that stay on permanently are notorious for this problem. I have just learned something, then. Believe it or not my Smart Meter contributed to the issue. The meter flashes LEDs every few seconds and I think probably kept triggering the dashcam. Tomorrow I will try to find a fuse that is only on with the ignition, and maybe fit a two-way switch to keep it on if parked in a bad area? Thanks for the input. Andrew

There is nothing on the Skoda Erwin portal for the digital service history. I think it is just too early for it. Can check on number of owners at work on Monday if any use? I would then compare that with the MOT history. Mot history not brilliant. My 2016 Fabia with more milage on it has only had 1 pair of advisories in all its MOT history. Last V5 issued July 2017. What is the Full Dealer History showing though? Is it lots that was being done or lots missed out be Peters & Lee Motors. Blindly go where none have gone before! The cars history is plenty badly worn tyres from the suspension being pretty shagged for years is it not. Maybe going to be an expensive MOT next year.

Same situation with LEDs as HIDs, the headlamp unit must be Type Approved for LED bulbs.

There's not a lot to them, and access to the belt isn't bad at all, so I'd just go with any local independent with a decent reputation. Just make sure they're fitting a decent brand belt kit (Gates, Contitech, Dayco) and ask them to put a genuine VAG water pump on.

Also there might well have been Service Campaigns / Workshop Actions, Recall Actions, SKODA SECRET SERVICE CAMPAIGNS, TPI,s. I don't know but the answer but normally there is not u huge range of options and the geometry settings come down to a few variants. The sticker would help it would probably have the PRcode for sports suspension. Most tracking places wouldn't need to ask the customer - it's a common car! There are one or two ways you can find out, pay for etka and ket the entire vehicle specification with PR codes. Ask a dealer for this print out - they will probably charge unless they know you and you do service there. Enquire about a replacement spring or damper and in the conversation ask what PRcode is listed for the car's vin. Use some online Skoda vin lookup.

I'd had the errors others have reported with the .zip file from the Skoda portal. There were no errors when unzipping the .7z file from the VW site which is linked to earlier in this thread. As I said before, only the very latest Windows 11 update, currently being rolled out, is able to unzip .7z files, otherwise you need the 7zip software.

@SuperbTWM I did log deviations yesterday on my morning commute, start and end of anyway. Was wondering the same, how does the ECU know what's actually been injected each time, as opposed to what should have been? Busy today, but might get a chance to pop a graph to tomorrow. There were some deviations beyond ÷/-1, but only when driving, and only early in journey (2 or 3 minutes in, up a sheepish hill), not when just idling. It does also start poorly when warm, and also after a few days of non-usage, so leaking may be going on. @Graham Butcher NOx isn't measured at MOT in the UK. On diesels, opacity/smoke is the only thing measured.

It's interesting that stop start is still functioning if the battery is poor. The system normally inhibits stop start unless the battery is holding enough charge for it. That is how I first knew my original EFB battery was on the way out, The stop start very rarely occured. I changed to a Varta AGM and can also recommend them too. My stop start functionality immediately returned after the battery swap.

Well there is certainly more Taycans on the road than I thought, interestingly though it seems that there were just 3,064 recorded in 2020, so maybe some were the subject of more than 1 recall from that year? I'm sorry there's been nothing going on with this thread, I THINK my welder may have a gas leak which I want to investigate before I drop another £50 of gas through it. The days are now so SHORT there's not much light available to achieve anything meaningful. I've been planning though, I've got rust neutralising paint on stuff so i can flat stuff like this back and treat the surface before priming. I think it must have been rubbed back and then just... left. The other side will get the same because it looks like someone else's slightly crap repair is bubbling. Perhaps a controversial opinion, but I think people now have far too much faith in their cars. They’ve never experienced a proper accident or felt the car lose control. Certainly, if they had, they wouldn’t drive the way they do on motorways. The amount of times I’ve seen someone in a crossover tearing down the outside lane at 80 when I’ve only got a few car lengths visibility due to the rain, is insane. There should be something like a mandatory skid pan experience after you’ve passed your test.

You will just have to search through the thousands of listed parameters most of which will be for other vehicles, the parameter is called injector deviation or something very similar, if it comes up as invalid look further and you will find other measuring blocks with the same or similar wording, one of which will be correct for your engine. I find VCDS very frustrating to use especially searching through measuring blocks which often have incorrect descriptions, there are so many to scroll through and the typeface is tiny now the program takes up only a tiny part of the screen space. I'm not actually sure what "deviation" means, there are flow return measurements as well, I think the individual injector opening times can be varied according to their characteristics so they can all pass the same amount of fuel. If anyone knows this subject well could they start a seperate thread? It's something people dont look at until they know they have a problem but I would be interested in doing any balancing of the injectors pro-actively for the fuel saving and to keep an eye on things if one injector seems to be changing over time, that way it can be replaced before it becomes a problem. The good news - with the EGR fix and clean there is a definite improvement in performance. Things I must have got used to before, and only noticed today by their absence, are gone. Such as, slight hesitation/judder pulling away in first such as on entering a roundabout. Bad news - still averaging 1.3 after six revs on the retest. Very little movement and that is after another Forté, the above work and a run beforehand. The terrible news - my son accidentally slipped whilst painting, fell out of his window, as a gust of wind opened the passenger door and the sharp end of his pallette knife has taken out the plate on the passenger door beam with the 0.8 plate value now lost. The boy is fine. So, new MOT booked at my usual place on Wednesday. The place I had it done last week was on a recommendation but they are the only garage I have ever been to where they "don't do emissions", not so much as a fuel cleaner and a speedy run, and my mechanic said not to go back. Seeing as they want a new booking now anyway, I will go to my usual place. Either they'll properly apply a value of 3.0 or do a fastpass (the place last week does not do them) and they tend to apply 1.5 to that so if it starts at 1.3, job done. Will of course update.

This is the exact wording of the test manual, for diesels of around this age. I'm not surprised that some testers don't get it right if they skim read straight to "For vehicles first used before..." Before the test, check the maximum smoke level limit for the vehicle and enter the required details into the diesel smoke meter. The maximum smoke level limit will be the level displayed on the manufacturer’s plate; or where there is no manufacturer’s plate information: For vehicles first used before 1 July 2008, the maximum level is: 2.5m-1 for a non-turbocharged engine 3.0m-1 for a turbocharged engine For vehicles first used between 1 July 2008 and 31 December 2013 the maximum level is 1.5m-1 for all engines.

Accidentally scrape the corner of the sticker so that the 0.8 is either removed or becomes illegible dependant on your relationship with the tester take it back to him/her or elsewhere for another MOT test, they would then have to use the higher default test limit from what others have said. I dont know if that is what is supposed to happen as I have had but one car MOT tested in the UK (to be legal driving it to the ferry) in 20 years but logic tells me that accidental damage to the sticker is the smart thing to do.
