  1. New post-cat sensor was delivered yesterday, and fitted just now. For the first time since purchase, this car is showing no fault codes in the engine ECU. 😁🥳
  2. A milestone! Well done Pete (and ECU)
  3. A couple from this evening 📸
  4. Pull them off and see what you think …. I have put mine in a bin bag in the loft! I think much better without them (and easier to clean too!)
  5. Not sure what you're hoping to achieve here, ie running without the correct oil levels, or how that will cure a software issue. There is a set procedure and temperature requirement when filling the transmission.
  6. Found it! In the main settings screen at the bottom of the list "Mobile Phone reminder sound". I turned it off and did not get the nice chap telling me not to forget my phone in the charging tray. I am Andriod, fully set-up with My Skoda, Wifi connected and primary user. On the Mrs user profile, the setting is on too so... I think I'll delete her (from the car you understand) and try again.
  7. I signed the order form on 03JUN and picked the car up today, so it was just a 1 month wait for me. I got the Kodiaq Sportline 2.0 TSI 4x4 as I don't have anywhere to plug it in and need 4WD for camping and the roads near me are a little lumpy at best. The main reason for the quick delivery was that another dealer had one on build with the Light Pack, Convenience Pack and Winter Pack - my local dealer kindly snagged it for me ;-) A got a good deal as we started of with the "DriveTheDeal" price and got a few freebies added, like mudflaps and roof bars. Also 0% PCP over 2yrs ;-) Similar to mine, you're gonna love it!

I sent an email to Skoda customer service with my VIN and they sent back a very detailed email showing all of the specced extras and various other tidbits of knowledge. Try it out, free and easy :)
  9. I guess best start then. Heres mine, a 2.0 diesel SEL collected on Thursday. Already filthy as had a 100 mile drive home in the rain. Best feature so far has to be the high beam assist, which is a game changer with hand controls. I quite like the traffic sign recognition too, it just adds to to an already relaxed drive. Slightly annoying is lane assist and having to turn it off every time. Worst has to be the gear selector position as it requires a bit of contortion for me. Tried holding the push brake with my right hand and reaching over with my left, but that’s way too difficult, so the solution I have come with so far is hold the brake on with my right wrist while selecting gear, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
  10. Hi, it is I, and I've traded in my lease Polo MK7 for an owned Octavia MK3 to be able to throw a bicycle in the back without having to take out the front wheel. As I like tinkering with stuff I'm pretty happy to be owning a car again. I've had the car for 2 weeks now and replaced the multimedia screen with a newer version to run android auto and have a multimedia experience similair to what I had in the Polo. Still on my 2 months warranty so I am trying to find out everything that could be an issue before I have to pay for it myself. Octavia MK3 Built in 2015 (2016 model) 182000km 1.4 TSI DSG DQ200 gearbox
  11. Even if you are a fully trained mechanic, without some prior experience of working an DSG gearboxes, I would have personally have kept well clear of them and invested in someone who had plenty of experience,
  12. Hang on, OP ran a wet clutch DQ381 without oil? As someone said, I've no idea what you're trying to do besides ruin your car. You were told it's a software issue with the MCU so what on earth are you doing running it without oil (lubrication and pressure)? The P0C2900 code is for the DSG oil pump - common guidance is after this code has come up, to completely disassemble the box to inspect for damage - funnily enough, nowhere mentions what steps to take after this code is thrown from a complete oil starvation. No offence, but if you aren't sure if your gearbox is a wet clutch, and you're relying on a YouTube video, perhaps you're best leaving DSG work to a trained mechanic? You're playing with fire.
  13. Welcome to Briskoda. And what an entrance! All the best 👍
  14. Very common to have lots of unexpected warning messages and (unseen) error codes when the battery gets too low for the car's computer systems and this is when the headlights seem bright enough and well, well before the engine won't start. The battery has to be very low before you get any difficulty starting the engine let alone before it can't start the engine. Usually the first sign the battery is too low for the car's computers is when the stop/start doesn't work when it should, at that point the battery needs charging and sometimes just driving the car isn't enough and fully recharging with an appropriate battery charger maintainer, following the instructions in the car's 'Owner's Manual' and for the charger. A long low (amps) recharge is best. The 12.8v can be when the battery has just been charged and drops given a little time and as has been put drops, possibly a lot, given load. If you only got the car three weeks ago there are three possibilities I can think of - the battery was/is old and worn and should have been replaced (but car 12v batteries are the most oversold car part and very often prematurely replaced rather than properly fully recharged the battery was low and not recharged by the seller before you took the car (possibly car not used whilst on sale) your use of the car and electrical systems in the car has taken the battery to a low state of charge there is a constant drain the battery from a fault or perhaps(?) something you have added to the car(?). The car battery likes 20c weather temperature and self-discharges at twice the rate at 30c and twice again at 40c - and of course during hot weather you use the air-con a lot more and the air-con (and steering) use a lot of electric. If it wasn't for the fact you have booked the car I would have suggested deleting all error codes straight away, though they should resolve themselves if the battery is in a good state of charge and/or with use of the car. You have learnt how important it is to keep the car's 12v battery in a reasonable state of charge to avoid upsetting the car's computer systems, many/most/(?)all of these error codes may have been present well before the engine wouldn't start so bear that in mind if the stop/start doesn't work when it should or you get low battery or other warnings. HTH. Let us know how you get on.
  15. I didn't think that ECU testing did 'Software Fixes As OccyVRS suggested, TVS Engineering would be my recommendation. There are a good few franchises dotted around the UK and my experience of them is very good mainly because they take the time to explain EVERYTHING and not fob you off with vague statements and zero evidence to back it up. '. I would say they want to order a new TCU board which may or may not turn up correctly programmed for your vehicle. (All this programming caper is well beyond my pay grade). If the board is Kaput, then to my mind the Mechatronic IS faulty as it's integral to the unit and its operation. If it were only a simple software problem I would have thought a Skoda dealer could update it for less than £500. Like I said, ECU Testing never give you the full story, I suspect because they don't want you to take it away & fix it yourself.
  16. Latest Updated Speedcams - July, 2025. Here's the latest update of my customised version of EUR Speedcams ( July, 2025 ). They consist of the full EUROPE speed cameras which I've split up into four consolidated poi categories i.e. Redlight Speedcams, Fixed Speedcams ( which now include European tunnel speedcams ), Average Speedcams and Variable Speedcams. They come supplied with my own preferred personal choice of icons, shown below, to match each of the speedcam categories. Remember to Install them as I explained in the first post in this thread i.e. after extracting the zip file remember to open the newly extracted folder and place only the PersonalPOI folder and metainfo2.txt file onto your sd card ( Please Note: a usb stick will not work! ). Also, please remember to select/tick the relevant newly added poi categories and the poi audible warning alert in your infotainment map menu settings after performing the update or they will not display on your map or audibly alert you. Hope you all enjoy them! EUR Speedcams - July, 2025.zip * Credit to jungblume2005 from Gpsurl for the use of his database which was used and converted in order to compile these files.
  17. It's a dq381 2018 skoda superb not too sure if it has wet clutch
  18. The other major issue in this project is coding. The following control units are affected: 09, 17, 19, 4B, D6 & D7. I personally have OBD11, as well as VCP, VCDs, ODIS, and VC Tool at my disposal... I'll provide details once the project is complete.
  19. Hello, depending on how (and with what) you tested the battery voltage, a reading of 12.8 volts should be ok - however, a more significant test is what the terminal voltage drops to when a load is applied to the battery - when the starter motor is operated, for instance. It is common for numerous and seemingly random faults to be reported when the battery is failing.
  20. I got a Mk3 Superb (2.0 diesel 150hp) with 178k km on it (110k m) and topped up the oil in beginning of June, did around 1000km. Now the light is on again and the dipstick shows just under half. Im 99% sure its something wrong with the car but just in case... is this much oil usage normal?
  21. I'm tempted to pull them off, so I'll likely swap for the caps next week. I'm beginning to think they're better without. A cracking car tho!
  22. nta16 accurate description. In Scala located above the fuses.
  23. When you unplug the connection cable, make sure multimedia is open, the on button will be disabled.
  24. I dismantled it using these tools,
  25. @Carlston typo in your post above, I'm sure you meant to write 1ZE for the front PR code rather than 1KE. Good reminder about the rear disc depth "gotcha". 👍
  26. Thanks Gammyleg. Think I've seen something suggesting that cabin temperature sensor is accessed by (1) Removing side fuse box cover on drivers side (rhd) where you can see the very top of sensor coming up. (2) to access sensor you remove knee height cubby hole on drivers side screwdriver and 4 torx screws plus another one. (3) then look up and see sensor. (4) twist/turn it and then pull it to remove it. (5) disconnect it put new temp sensor in. (6) reverse steps back to beginning to complete. Gonna order new sensor online and give it a shot when it comes 🤞🤞
  27. Very helpful and generous to go to these efforts @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits I don't believe the dealer network is as clued up! I have you in mind as you suggested via PM (thanks again) but today I had a call from Skoda who had been doing some investigations too, had spoken to my dealer, and had agreed that they would work together to source a Skoda OEM retractable system and let me know lead times, if it will work, and costs. I'll share what transpires in the hope that it adds to the already useful info given above and helps others, and of course will be in touch... Thanks again.
  28. Who knew checking oil level could be so complicated. I always check mine when cold or tepid and aim for top end of area B on the stick. Never failed me yet. Luckily my 1.6tdi uses next to nothing between 12k mile oil changes, maybe half a litre or just a touch more.
  29. I was able to reset the module using a BT obd scanner I’ve had for years (originally used for Bimmercode on my old F31) with the Car Scanner app. What PetrolDave said still holds true, if the module is locked, you’ll need to pay to get the right tool/ software.
  30. Hello, I removed the connection cable socket of the multimedia sound touch bar. I only control the sound from the steering wheel.
  31. Hi great forum :-) My dear nephew just got a skoda fabia 2012 1.2. Looking for a bit of info. I remapped well over 40 1.9 PD engines, but know nopthing bout the 1.2.
  32. Or diesel 1.2? Or 1.2 TSI? So many 1.2s. 😆

    Welcome to Briskoda @SJx 👍
  35. Thanks nta16 and rum4mo 👍 The car has been serviced annually, with proper bits (checked) and it’s in for another one now at the same time as the checkover. They’ll do a live check tomorrow, but so far they say it’s a blank on the sensors and readings. Faulty sensors, EPC came to mind, as did fuel quality (French supermarket and sometimes E10) and coking. But the starting issue hasn’t been consistent or regular. It gets an Italian job up an Alp once a month… I’ll give the injector fluid a go. I may have overfilled oil marginally I think recently, a dipstick check was 2/3 but I didn’t realise the camber (towards the gearbox end) at that spot, so a cautious 200 ml top up might have run slightly over.
  36. Here are the current towbar installation restrictions for the UNECE Octavia Build dates 01/04/24 to 25/08/24 (CW14/2024 - CW34/2024) - Updates required prior to installation 26/08/24 to 24/11/24 (CW35/2024 - CW47/2024) - Updates required prior to installation 25/11/24 to 06/07/25 (CW48/2024 - CW27/2025) - Updates required prior to installation 07/07/25 onwards - not currently supported (Not currently in existence anyway) Cars with outstanding updates will be charged for the updates so it's advisable to make use of your warranty and have them performed by your local dealer prior to visiting us.
  37. It seems to me that the weather conditions are irrelevant. I’m told it’s a software issue where some of the “modules” don’t shut down properly and so when you go to start the engine the “computer says no”! As with all IT issues, switch it off, lock it and start again!! They have no fix for it so basically they are selling brand new cars with a known issue without telling the customer. They are relying on customers just putting up with it as a minor irritation. If it happens when you really need a quick exit it really isn’t a minor irritation. I have been in discussion with Škoda Customer service and my dealer for the last 6 months and I’m now moving to a refusal of the car as it’s not fit for purpose. A great shame because apart from this issue I think the car’s great!

Not all fault codes clear automatically, in many cases you have to fix the problem and then clear the code. I've used VCDS for nearly 20 years, I like its comprehensive coverage of all the modules in a modern Skoda (not just the major ones), the free for life software upgrades and the great online support (if you have a genuine one not a clone or copy). No it's not cheap, but compare it to the cost of a diagnostic visit to a dealer and it doesn't look so bad.
  39. Over on Arran. Hanging around the shore and snapping whatever. Using my 100/500 with a 1.4 tele converter. A little short still.
  40. From quick online search of OCU - ? "What is the OCU(Online Connectivity Unit) The OCU stands for Online Connectivity Unit It's a telematics device that LGE is developing for the Volkswagen vehicles It is a small box installed deep inside passenger cars, and in charge of wireless communications in. GSM, WCDMA and LTE network It provides voice and data call functions and various online services requested by VW" ?
  41. Hi I ordered a PHEV SEL with a number of extras, order placed week two of Jan and given a date of April 15th for delivery, received June 13th. Whole process was a nightmare, somebody was fibbing. Culminated in it being here “next week” and the. Arrived the next day. Communication was shocking and I did all the chasing….
  42. Arrived today. Kodiaq iV SportsLine - Love the colour … and I suspect those wheel covers will come off soon!
  43. Been there done that. In fact it was 2 years after I bought my Superb (2nd hand) that I realised I had a virtual pedal. Wondered why the boot kept closing for no apparent reason when I was loading shopping in & out of the boot.🤣
  44. Hi, My Superb Mk3 Estate has gone this morning with its new owner after 136500km and 7.5 y.o. He's really happy and so am I, since he told me his new Mk3 will sleep in a garage, which I couldn't do.
  45. oh yes, just don't do it. TDI's aren't designed for anything under 10 miles. I've had several TDI150's and they all need a good run to keep them happy.
  46. My new baby . Thanks to a good friend she is looking her best . (Look at that shine all him ) My 4th skoda second kodiaq.
  47. Just got this one of the day I collected mine. Fifth Kodiaq but first mk 2.
  48. Ill pitch in then. Its a race blue Phev with all options except for leather.
