  1. Just replaced the sensor with this And jobs a goodun all working fine, started the car and had errors but drove a few meters and they all cleared. Will do a proper vcds scan and clear later but working a treat

  3. I would add to that - and costs to customers as well as quality of service provided. The 12 tonne electric vs 20 tonne diesel rubbish disposal vehicles failed on that last point.
  4. All things being equal in terms of operating costs, less diesel fumes and particulates being emitted in towns and cities has to be a good thing.
  5. Another vote for the 1.5 150 PS, seems a strong engine to me.
  6. Just check out the city to city electric bus routes in Scotland now. Busy busy busses stopping into towns, it is a brave new world. Some places moved with the times.
  7. @lol-lol The one i have can be set to 13 or 16 amp. I will take the car to Braemar tomorrow and then charge at InstaVolt after 8.pm to see what the charging speed is like.
  8. @ZJZ I am having Cross Climate 3,s fitted on Saturday. The size is 205/60 R 16 V 96. I thought worth giving a try as selling at less the Cross Climate 2 & + Cold nights arriving here already.. The tyres the car i got today are a mixed set & the grip was crap even in the dry.
  9. I think it's a case of removing glove box - fan motor etc is behind
  10. Difficult to get a clear shot of the moon this evening although it was pretty colorful behind the clouds🌛 No such difficulties last night though 🌛👍
  11. That's a fair comment, I shall examine tomorrow. Thanks.
  12. 10 amp. After midnight. Michelin CrossClimate 3,s going on Saturday. Surprised that they are cheaper at present than CrossClimate 2,s or +. 205/60 R16 V 96

Hello everyone, happy to be back in the Briskoda community with my 2013 Skoda Superb estate!
  14. I've used something like this, dampened but not too wet, and it worked pretty well.
  15. Hi, I just figured this issue out. I unzipped the file onto SD card but left all the files embedded under a sub folder in the SD card. Once i cut them from the sub folder and put them all in the 1st layer of SD card it then worked.
  16. It's fine. From 100% and back country roads climbing and coming back down in D setting it was showing 4.7 miles on leader regen. Sitting checking, In Sport it shows 151 miles range and in ECO 189. Showing this once back home.
  17. It isn’t just the BCM that’s protected by SFD2 (ie VWAGs implementation of the UNECE R155 R156 security measures) Many modules are protected however where there’s a will, there’s a way - just not for DIYers
  18. Of course 😀👍😂😂 Tell you what tho, The acceleration when flooring it is NEVER gonna get old!!👍🚗👍🚗👍🚗
  19. You need 308 then you can go to 324,330,332 which are the the three common known ones. I’ve got an EU version. I’lll jump on the PC and link to it in a bit
  20. @SkOmk4 You're a legend, that managed to give me the confidence to proceed! Thanks a bunch. I'll contribute back with a Match DSP setup once i get it all dialed it. Just got a microphone today. A little thing i could also contribute back is that there is a small lid in the compartment for the charging cable that shows a cable connected directly to the frame. That is actually the negative lead from the battery. So i didn't even have to take out all of the styrofoam and undo 8 bolts, I could just have made do with that single one... It was so conveniently placed that I suspected it might be for exactly this reason, but I didn't dare touch it until I was certain. Ended up just undoing that it it worked as expected... Again thanks a bunch, couldn't have done this without your help!
  21. I wonder who Transport and Environment actually is and or funds it, that is the real question as there will another report created somewhere by someone that will counter that one. It is so difficult to decide which is fact or fiction these days, why I like to look beneath the stone and see if there is alternative possible reason for things. Its a bit like the old joke, how do you know if a politician is lying or not, if his lips are moving, he's lying. Trust has to be earned and we have all been systematically lied to over the years by people who we elect to office to do great things for us and our country when so few of them are experts in anything and they listen to the lobby/thinktank groups who are in the employ of rich powerful people who are keen to get a particular result.
  22. Pop the starter out and see if theres any clutch material visible. On my sons it was covered in fibres. You may also be able to see inside the bell housing. Weird thing with his was one side was about half worn but the other nothing apart from shiny metal. I reckon the rivets gave up due to age. His is an 06 plate and I assume original clutch. Alasdair
  23. Believe or believe not, as Yoda might say 😏

  25. @Ootohere Ok, look, I understand that electric buses exist, geez, we have them all over parts of London and we have had a few of them go into thermal runaway as well and they were pretty well reported at the time and caused massive problems with road closures etc for hours on end. In fact I think the London was one of the first places to try out alternative energy buses even, we hydrogen buses a few years ago as well, which were hailed as the future, where are they now? The point that I was actually making was that unlike the single deck intercity coaches like those that you posted, which spend most of the time actually moving at a reasonable speed and so use less energy to keep up the moment. Compare that with a double deck town service bus which has bus stops every 500metres or so, plus traffic jams and traffic lights, road junctions etc which force the bus to stop and pull away again, these use use significantly more energy per mile then buses and coaches going from town to town. Don't forget that while you in your car decide that you are not going to use the A/C or heating etc to maximise your range, you cannot expect fare paying passengers to make the same sacrifices that you do, so the want heating or cooling, they want to sit in a lit interior, they have powered doors, route signs, information screens etc all drawing power. Because of this they also need to have chargers located at the terminus at each end of their designated routes and will take around at least 10 minutes to top up the batteries ready to make the return trip where they repeat the process all over again Perhaps this video will assist in explaining this and I again make the point about the chargers will actually make changes to such bus services extremely challenging as the infrastructure needs some pretty major construction not to mention a good grid connection. Plus of course, given that in many situations the routes end up in the middle of housing estates, would you be prepared to have one of these chargers that London Transport transport are using outside or in view of your house?? Its a case of location, location, location 😉 Ps, I see that the deputy mayor is once again repeating the lie that each year 4,000 people in London are dying from poor air quality, pure fiction. Edit: My bad, the type of charger shown is located at the depot/bus station and tops the bus up when it arrives there. This video shows they can also plug in.
  26. Happy "World EV Day"..... whatever that is. World EV Day There's also a "Sun Day" coming up. https://www.sunday.earth/
  27. One would certainly hope so, but that also assumes that they are given the correct figures in the first instance, i.e, diesel gate?
  28. I would say an idle pulley... however, you should not expect an exact answer at distance

Is the hose long enough to cut 1/2” off the end and re-seat it as a makeshift repair? If not, could you cut it and add a section of copper/metal pipe on jubilee clips so you can get a clean inner section of the hose reseated? Again as a makeshift repair? Is the hose straight (ish) and simple enough that a generic coolant hose of the same bore could be suitable? But before any of that, if the hose isn’t damaged, have you tried releasing the clip, getting the hose moving, and then putting the clip back on, but rotated from its current location? Might provide an easy fix. Gaz
  30. "Normal graceful degradation" failure of the fan rheostat.
  31. There's a significant difference in torque and power between the 2 engines, if funds allow I'd go for the 1.5
  32. @classic there might be a clue there as I think someone mentioned something about being the first or early adopter? I guess someone has to the guinea pig in to discover the problems?
  33. There are plenty videos covering Dundee City Council and the Electric Vehicle fleet which now has 8 electric bin lorries. Plenty Renewables electricity available there though. I will put up again for those that maybe have not seen.
  34. I guess we are reading his sentence from our differing perspectives but the way he continues is what makes me interpret it the way I did. “From a cost perspective I would replace a diesel van for an electric van and I wouldn’t even hesitate,” he added. “On a HGV I wouldn’t even look at an electric one unless we got a load of grant funding from the Government. We should be looking at diesel with HVO because that is the best value choice.” I don’t know how they expected the electric ones to work out when their diesel lorries can carry 40% more weight. It seems to me the council ordered inadequate vehicles and clearly their charging infrastructure isn’t good enough. There are private bus companies like Arriva and Stagecoach running huge fleets of Electric buses and installing reliable charging systems, so clearly the sums must add up or they wouldn’t do it. Also they don’t replace a diesel bus with an electric one that holds 40% less people.
  35. Thanks, guys. I'm reluctant to take spanners etc. to the car at this stage, since I've only had it a few days, and it's under warranty for a year. As far as I can tell the flap is just hinged on its top edge, and doesn't seem to have fixings for springs or any other kind of control. I've been in touch with the dealer who sold it, and sent the same photo and video, so it will be interesing to see what they say. For now I've also put felt pads in a few places to mute the noise it makes when it opens or closes. I'll post an update if/when there is one.

Ignition switched feed from fuse 19 in cabin goes to pin 8 Permanent feed from engine fuse 4 goes to pin 1 Permanent feed from engine fuse 25 goes to pin 32. Pin 47 is earth. CANH (Powertrain) bus connection on pin 12, CANL on pin 13.
  37. Not necessarily, many scan tools may be able to read the code and help with diagnosis and if appropriate resets and/or clear code(s) but not all repairs are just a matter of plugging in a scan tool and just deleting error codes, checking, cross-checking is needed plus often diagnostics and further testing or checking with other diagnostic tools including the human senses. I agree with Gizmo's post.
  38. Cheapest way would be to contact a local member who has HEX-V2 or HEX-NET VCDS.
  39. Just adding another relay 484 example from 2007 Roomster, works after resoldering.
  40. Hi guys, On a bit of a punt here... My i40 had smoke coming from the engine bay. Opened it to see oil spattered everywhere. The engine is smoking from somewhere on start up. More when accelerating. Emanating from somewhere to the right of and further down than the filler cap. Also, it looks like a significant amount of oil is leaking underneath. The car is very noisy - rattling, which increases with acceleration. Any ideas on what could be going on? I've posted a few pics. Any pointers gratefully received. Joe.

  42. The busses that I was talking about were the town buses, driving routes across towns and cities from from one estate to another which have frequent stops and traffic delays and where of course there is a need to maintain interior lighting as well heating/cooling etc. Surely electric buses follow the same rules of physics where they require far more energy to get them rolling each time they come to a stop at bus stops, traffic holdups, traffic lights etc, than it does to keep it trundling along motorways between city to city?
