Very smooth DSG gears switching after VCDS Adaptation
I do this on obdeleven. I have never bothered with the adaption drive as the gearbox will run the tests when you drive normally in D. Doing the adaption run just speeds up the process. Also I looked into the direct drive mode for the throttle. All it does is put the throttle into sport mode. So if you have a profile switchover button you can just leave it in sport.

Stolen: Race Blue Vrs Combi WA14YZU
No need to pass the Police the VIN as it recorded against the registration on the Police National Database. It will also be added to the hotlist, so if it triggers an ANPR camera it will send an alert or if a traffic car drives by it will ping up on the screen. My bet is that this car will be used in crime without a doubt. They used to steal high power Audis and Ford's about ten years ago but a Skoda will be less conspicuous. Also Police use Skoda cars too, so even less so. The opp. may get fines for speeding etc in the post over the next few weeks if it is on the originals plates. Just quote your crime number and they will get wiped off. Also the same for any parking fines etc.

Dump valve noise sort of?
Mine does this. It is simply the noise made when the turbocharger is still spinning and compressing air. But there is nowhere for the air to go if the engine is stopped. So it makes a whooshing sound in the intake if that makes sense.

Skoda octavia 2.0tdi 2017 problem with hot start
I'd def get it to a vag specialist who can hook in vcds or similar and see what it is doing.

Skoda octavia 2.0tdi 2017 problem with hot start
Sounds like you need to take it to a vag specialist. However that being said, how long is it till the engine stops after start up?

Vrs sound generator obd availability to turn it on?
All that does is reset the structure borne actuator factory settings. Basically like a hard reset and sets the volume to 100%. You are right with resetting certain modules like brakes etc. But this one is safe as I have done it when I reverted back to using the actuator, which was quickly deactivated as it annoyed the hell out of me.

Vrs sound generator obd availability to turn it on?
Have you tried going into basic settings and resetting of all adaption values?

Front assist and Acc not availble - Skoda Octavia 2016 model
You can reset the alignment via obdeleven. You then have to go on a 20 mile drive with traffic so it can recalibrate.

What stock turbo is in the VRS TDI 184?
The engine does not lend itself well to tuning. The most that has been made in the UK so far is 286bhp. But that is with a lot of money spent, new turbo, fuel pump etc. You can get a remap which will take you to around 210 to 220bhp max. That is about where the turbo maxes out. Intake wise you can fit an mqb blanking plate to cover the hole on the back of the inlet pipe. https://www.akstuning.co.uk/shop/home/582-genuine-mqb-air-scoop-trim-plate-5q0129849.html Remove the snow grate and open up the hole on the left side of the intake. If you google pikey R600 mod it will become clear. Filter wise the standard paper filter supplies more than enough air for a modded 286bhp car and also the same filter supplies the Golf R with a lot more hp. So not worth changing to anything else unless you want extra intake noise. You can fit better chargepipes from Darkside Performance which gives about 5bhp and helps the engine breathe better during acceleration. They are only £180. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-aluminium-charge-pipe-kit-for-mk7-platform-vehicles.html You can get a silicone turbo to airbox pipe but that is really just for aesthetics as they don't offer any flow increase over the standard pipe. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/turbo-to-airbox-tip-silicone-for-mk7-platform-2-0-tdi.html Some people have the dpf removed and egr blanked but it is pointless if you ask me. You still have a catalytic converter fitted before the dpf and straight after the turbocharger, to me that is more restrictive than the dpf. When mine has issues I will just get it cleaned. If you take a look on Darkside Developments they have a page purely on what was done modding the CUNA engine. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/Blog/mqb-platform-ea288-engine-tuning-184-cuna-cupa/

Brake pad knocking
Brake shims will stop the knock and pad rattle. That is what they are made for. Always fitted them to my cars when changing the pads and never had any issue.

DSG Noise between Gears under load 1.4 TSI
If you have full dealer history or can show you have had genuine parts fitted each service. You may get a goodwill contribution. I would let a vag gearbox specialist take a look as it might just need a reset. Either way they usually have access to the software updates and will be cheaper than a main dealer.

help! Another Apple Carplay issue....
Have you tried holding the main power button down till it resets and restarts on the radio? I would also fully uninstall carplay and do a fresh install on your phone.

Tray under front bumper coming off?
Looks like it has been re fitted wrongly after a service. Easily sorted with a jack and about 5mins of time. You will need to purchase some screws. Or speak to the garage you purchased the car from to sort it.

DPF - VCDS Levels

Air Filter change interval
I just use a flat head electricians screwdriver as it is thin and long enough to reach through the side to unhook and hook the damper on and off.

Vrs sound generator obd availability to turn it on?
I would presume so. Might be worth a look.

Wider tyres
Ideally you need to alter your dampers to something that is better damped. Ideally you want a firm dampers with softer spring to get a comfortable ride. However that isn't possible unless you get springs made to your spec and that will be costly. I fitted Koni FSD on my Fabia VRS along with eibach springs and that made the ride very compliant on bumpy roads. But you could still push on and they would firm up. Mighy be an option to think about but it will cost just under a grand to sort it. As for axle tramping try not to apply too much power with the wheels all at once and best as you can, feed the power in. I know it is not as easy as wired throttles of old. You could also consider a remap with a linear throttle map.

Please help me fall in love with my car...
Sounds like you got a bad one. But you as you know you can get that with any manufacturer. I could tell you plenty of horror stories from BMW owners. Sadly it is down to cars being too sophisticated and software driven. Hopefully your next car will be hassle free and an enjoyment for you 👍

Please help me fall in love with my car...
They are great cars. Have you the latest software on your radio? There are also updates for the DSG. Perhaps a reset would help. I love the Octavia as yes they arent the best car out there. But value for money they are outstanding. I am on my third Octavia now and still cannot find a car to beat it.

Under-Bonnet Thermal Insulation
You dont want the dpf or gpf too hot all the time else it will fail. Certainly with the dpf if it gets too hot it will think there is a fault and not allow a regen.

2015 Octavia mk3 vrs Brake pad change
If it is a 2015 you should have 340mm front and 272mm on the rear. The spec should quote what pads fit the disk. I don't know if yours will have a wear sensor on or not.

Air con - strange behaviour
Thought it might be low refrigerant. Glad you got it sorted.

Vrs sound generator obd availability to turn it on?
Simple answer from a fellow 184 TDi owner. Don't bother as it sounds very artificial. The natural engine sound is better under acceleration.
-
EGR adaption
Well the reset has done something as my car was doing 64mpg on the motorway. Took photo when I had come off the motorway and got to my destination. That was over a 55mile trip. Normally I'd get around 54-55mpg over the same drive. Given this is a DSG in normal mode and not quite as economical as a manual, it is impressive.
