Finding a decent Mkiii Octavia
Looks like damage from when someone was over zealous with an ice scraper.

Question re; Bilstein B8 front shock - 50 or 55mm strut diameter?
I always thought the estates had the 55 and the hatch had the 50.

Has anyone fitted a "resonated" Scorpion exhaust to their VRS?
I had the BCS exhaust on my mk2 as it was used to develop the Octavia line. How come you didnt get another Tony Banks one fitted?

Central locking issue?
Most quote a couple of weeks to get booked in. I know my local Skoda in preston took two weeks for an alignment.

Central locking issue?
As it is a 2019 model you still have warranty. I would let Skoda worry about it 👍

Power drop before regeneration.
I find running on Shell V Power diesel helps keep the engine running better. It does cost more but I find I get better mpgs aswell. Plus it has additives and cleaners to clean the fuel line and injectors so win win for me.

Best shock absorbers for 2015 Octavia
Not the mk3 but on my mk2 VRS I had the Eibach springs and they were more comfortable than the standard springs. Also they were low but not too low to cause issues over speed humps etc.

Air Filter change interval
I change mine every 10,000 miles irrespective of whether it is needed.

Octavia 1.5 tsi ‘20 plate manual
No manufacturer is free from the odd faults. If you look on other forums of other manufacturers they are all filled with woes and faults etc. If you like the car and it has warranty then I wouldnt worry too much.

Where best to buy a used Vrs Estate
Personally I would always buy from a garage as you get more protection should the car have issues. It took me over 7 months to find my Octavia, as I wanted a specific spec and colour on my VRS. I found mine at Arnold Clark in Hexham so travelled 140 miles to collect it.

Rough start - facing uphill
Do you meana rough start as in the engine not starting correctly? Or rough start as in starting to drive away when going uphill?

Octavia VRS DSG DQ250 and DMF Quandary
When the DSG was serviced. Did they do an adaption on the gearbox? I have found with my DQ250 (albeit not AWD) sometimes does not always adapt correctly so I then do another and it works fine. Also I would question if they got enough oil in as that can lead to running issues.

Best induction kit for sound on a mk3.5 vrs petrol
If you are after the best sounding you would be better looking at an open cone type of filter.

Tyres
Goodyear Asy 5s are quiet. I have the 19s with 235 section and dont get a huge amount of noise.

Octavia 3 RS very loud AC noise
If it in the uk qnd it is the fan motor then yes it will be covered under the consumer rights act 2015. A lot of garages overlook a few things hoping the owner will just fix it themselves.

2015, 1.6 diesel glow plugs - how to change.

Octavia 3 RS very loud AC noise
If you only purchased your car a few weeks ago and it was from a garage. It will be covered by used car warranty so let them repair it.

Skoda Octavia 3 5e full autoscan wanted
Probably the easiest way is to speak to Skoda who will recode the control module back to factory standard.

DSG question
My DQ250 can be a bit jerky going from 1st to 2nd when cold. But that is simply because the oil is cold and the oil viscosity is thicker. Once warm it is nice and smooth.

Tracking and Alignment
Skoda in Preston charged me £75 for a full alignment. You dont need the radar adjusted so they are just trying to get money out of you. I woukd question why they need to run diagnostics.

GPF fitted?
Any reputable tuner will be able to tell you if the car has one fitted and make alterations to suit. However I wouldnt map your car as it is still in warranty and would raise the TD1 flag. Unless you can affors to fix it yourself, generally it will void any engine claim or gearbox claim. I would wait till it is out if warranty and then do it.

GPF fitted?
You won't notice any on the road performance difference with 5bhp less.

Octavia 184 2.0TDi Remap - Reliability issues?
It is a side effect of tuning. The more diesel you inject to increase the power. The more ash and oil residue is created. This will fill up the dpf quicker and cause it to regen more.

Octavia 184 2.0TDi Remap - Reliability issues?
My only worry with the increased torque is the effect it has on the DMF. Mine is DSG and some standard cars DMF have failed. You would have to avoid doing lots of accelerating hard in high gears and drop down a gear to ease the strain in the gearbox. Also consider a DSG tune to make best of the power if you are DSG. The gearbox has a torque limiter and can reduce the power.
