@peter3197 @Skoffski I've just renewed for the year for £389 per year with Sheilas Wheels (cheapest one on comparison website) - I've literally just got off the phone with them and got a quote for adding the remap and lowering springs to the policy which worked out at an extra £100 per year which seems very reasonable :whew:

Lowering springs, rear anti roll bar and intake kit have all been fitted.

The sound is miles better than I though and the handling too! It feels like a different car, the handling has been asbolutely transformed. For someone who isnt planning to go to track days, Im glad I went with the springs instead of the coilovers. The rear anti roll bar has made the front end so much grippier, its fantastic!

Final update for the Fabia - custom catback exhaust fitted on Saturday AM by Top Gear Doncaster (Powerflow).

The exhaust still retains the back box (largest one they had) and has retained the standard look so there is no visible exhaust tip.

The sound is excellent, its a deep rumble but not over the top and not boomy on the motorway.

It certainly does what I intended it to do - it has improved the turbo spooling time meaning now it delivers power from lower revs and it revs hard all the way to 6k!

Overall very happy with the result!

And the project continues!

Coming soon will be a sports cat and a stage 2 custom remap by JBS which should take it to circa 150bhp.

JBS also recommended uprated clutch and brakes so that will probably happen at some point too.

As a longer term goal Ive also enquired with JBS regarding a new turbo which they confirmed they will start testing soon - this should see the Fabia reach 190 - 200 bhp or in other words it'll be a Fabia VRS!

So, this is where it's at... Spoke to this company to ask about the turbo who unfortunately didn't fill me with confidence so the Fabia remains with 130bhp.

I've been doing some digging and it seems the turbo from the 1.4 TSI 150 is straight bolt on into the 1.2 TSI blocks so I am potentially considering looking into getting one of those and then getting a custom remap. For now (upcoming months) it will definitely get a downpipe and stage 2 remap which should see 150 bhp ish.

What is it you didn’t like about RTMG?

@AMD87

So what they do is they provide a reconditioned turbo however they dont remap the car accordingly or fit the new turbo. Which isn't ideal but I could work around but then when we started discussing the potential purchase they said that they cant garantee the turbo will fit and they had a few customers who had to change some aditional bits to make the turbo fit which I really didnt like the idea of having my car at the garage and then getting a call from the guys saying the turbo doesnt fit

I don't know who it was, when I spoke to the guy it sounded like a "one man band" kind of thing to be honest - are you aware of what happened then? So what exactly was wrong with the wastegate?

I know the guy that runs RTMG uk but he hasn’t spoke to you so he’s thinking it was one of the guys out in Greece.

I'll see if I can get hold of him then - considering the costs of custom remap for a stage 2, perhaps it would be wise to get downpipe done and then go straight to the turbo and skip stage 2 since it will need a custom remap anyway after its all done

@AMD87 Quick question which I can't find any info on - Considering the car is already remapped, after the turbo goes in can I literally have the guys adjust the map for higher boost or will it need a full custom remap? I'm having issues finding someone to do a remap for it at a reasonable price that's all..

If you’re lucky adjust it but possibly a full new map
