Thanks pab567, updated without any issues.

After the update, under VCDS you may have a 1555 'Check Software Version Management' code that can't be cleared via Clear DTCs.

This can be cleared using VCDS and this guide:

Has anyone needed to clear loads of fault codes after doing the update?

 

Just want to be prepared as I've got VCDS on my laptop but I've not actually hooked up my car even though all the software is installed I remember having USB connectivity issues the last time I tried to connect to my laptop to unlock a ton of features that were disabled by the factory such as cornering fogs and traffic sign recognition etc

Normally only one, the one that says a firmware update has been done.

Like everyone else, I'd like to update the firmware if possible.

 

I have a few questions, firstly I bought this MIB2.5 and retrofit to a Octavia 2015 build date 15/05/2015 from a really helpful guy from Sydney AU. I think the MIB originally came from Bulgaria or Turkey as both countries appear in various menus. 

 

I have recently updated the navigation but had to change some file/folder names to the EU to make it work. Is there a way of changing the country to AU of the MIB unit so I don't have to change other things to "fool" the MIB to thinking it's still in the EU?

 

@ PAB567, I follow another thread you have written on and commented on that ability to have the colour folders instead of the monochrome carousel and I'm wanting to know how to change this. I have been on youtube to find out about Skins and connected my OBDeleven to see what can be changed but there isn't an explanation of what Skin1,2,3.......8 actually means. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

 

@bladerara you have the latest SW

@asavvyman check you PM for latest SW. I don't know if your unit has been reworked and with what solution but basically for having AU maps on SD without changing folder name you must recode byte 03 in 5F from 01 to 08. If this doesn't work then additionally license for AU maps shoudl be installed.

To have the colour folders instead of the monochrome carousel is not a piece of cake - it requires hacking of SW download and then updating with hacked 04xx SW.
