Bugger, I guess mine will be the same... It will be great if they let you know what it was?

  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

I'm already annoyed with this restarting every other day..

I have the same issue. At least, each 48 hours, the system reboots itself.

I put out all the usb sticks few days ago and I had no reboot in last 4 days...will test it at least 7...

So usb sticks with mp3 mught be a problem?

Sorry for my late reply. After 7 days not using any USB in the car, I had no issues at all. After that, I've tried another uab stick for music and had no problem. To verify my theory, i put the first uab again and restart issues began again.

So i took the uab, formated the usb with exfat or fat32 (really not sure) format and deleted non mp3 files (covers, picturers, etc) from the usb. Currently I have no restart issues...

Hope this will help someone...

For example, I don't use anything in the usb ports, but the reboot happens. I use Android Auto on a wifi connection on every trip. Can it cause restarts?

Sadly I don't use any USB devices either, and I use only occasionally use Apple Carplay so it looks like none of that is the issue sadly causing my re-boots.

Mine started to reboot after the update to 1896. Until then, it was smooth AF.

I am having other friends with 1896 for the cars that were made for 2021, early 2022 and they all say they are facing the issue randomly.

So, I believe that this is a bug within the software that may get resolved in a future release.

I had the reported booting / rebooting problems Whist in France a month or so ago .

Tried all the usual fixes including disconnecting the battery , all to no avail .

Got so fed up I arranged an appointment with nearest Skoda dealer in Provence .

On the day of the appointment the car infotainment worked perfectly without any problems .

Dealer took the car into the workshop for 20 mins and it was returned to me with no fault codes showing and

continued to work perfectly .

Back in the UK supplying dealer checked it over and could find no faults .

I was told there is a more up to date software package but it was decided to leave it on the current system as all was working

properly .

I attach pic of current configuration .

You can try to update to 1896.

However, mine started to reboot after the update so I am not sure that this will resolve your problem.

Hi all, back from workshop today. They told me that they had done a software update which should have solved all my three problems. Infotainment reboot, travel assistant bong-bong alert when steering wheel heating is on and once a blackouted car.

Now, its just to see if this is true, no problems today so far...

My infotainment is still on 1896, so i have no clue on what

See what happens if you can get revision 1900.

That's what mine is on, it has already done several updates, but I don't know what they are but the car has settled down nicely and no faults so far. 🤞

Some kind of update will be installed, we will see what will change 😀

Yep, had that today too. It did list what it contained but very unhelpfully AA decided to obliterate the message and so I couldn't read it.

I take it, the system downloads it and then updates it when the car is stationary/engine off for a considerable amount of time for it to update itself.

One or two reboots then a few days later its boot loop and black screen of death. Goodnight 5f module. Software 1898. How the hell are these things going wrong on 2023 models its ridiculous.

Anyone got any mk4 jokes. It's laugh or cry.

On the first drive after the update, the multimedia made a black screen and restarted. 🤦‍♂️

Later, another update appeared in the update queue.

Well it finally finished updating or upgrading itself today, don't know what its done to itself, but this is now what I've got on my car.

Has anyone had the re-boot associated with an Orange PDC warning? Mine is starting to system reboot (media) every few days, always in the first 5 mins of a journey and recently it has been preceded by a PDC warning... It seems to be happening more and more, now it recently re-booted twice before it worked properly. Compared with the issues I have had in the past this is just annoying, but if it keeps getting worse.... and the warranty runs out in November, so keen to chase this one down. I am on the latest software.

My own issue precisely! I have had OCU replaced in November and everything has been working brilliantly until…. recent daily now several times daily reboots preceded by PDC (but I associate that with the reboot) And….my warranty runs out sooner than yours….in September. I have zero expectation of post warranty Skoda support…free of charge.

So my VRs has started rebooting randomly, seemingly whenever I change mode or disable start/stop - I always change the mode once per drive to turn off the stupid engine sound, and S/S annoys me so I often turn that off after. It's started freezing then going black and rebooting. Probably only 1 out of 5 drives but still 1 too many. Also, only ever in the rain but not what I would call heavy rain at all, I've had front PDC warnings and front collision assist or whatever it's called warnings. Call me mad, but I want that working more in the wet than in the dry! Might book it in for a look over if it doesn't calm down. Mind you the car has done 600 miles in 2 months so I suppose this is actually a way more frequent problem than some people, when you put it into context!

Sadly mine took the over the air update a day or so ago... system re-boot again this morning so no change for mine. Might have to book it in so its recorded as a problem, even though I know they wont fix it....

Almost a week since update at workshop, no travel assist alerts and no reeboots, keeping my fingers crossed😬

@Bial, Can you share the software versions that you are running on? Thx

I do not have any ODB11 to check but infotainment is at 1896. It did not change after the update at the workshop.

Same thing here, got an update notification on Monday and ran it on Tuesday. Somewhere during a trip on Wednesday it notified my that the update was complete, but mine is also still at 1896 🤔

Sadly, one reeboot this weekend. It came with a parking assistant fault. After two seconds error cleared and stable again. However travel assistant error when using heated steaaring wheel is still gone.

In Spain, several persons that live or passed by near the France border, reported this issue of the infotainment restarting continuously. It turns out that disabling the logos of FM radio stations "fixed" the problem. Supposedly there is some issue with the logo of one or more French radio stations. Hope it helps for some of you!
