  2. You can probably pick up a replacement alarm horn very cheaply on the secondhand market. Much easier to just change that than start from scratch. Car alarms are almost useless anyway, immobiliser does the work these days.
  3. It did have; unfortunately it was unreliable and I suspect a previous owner/garage may have messed with it - siren looks battered. I just want to fit a new system for reliability.
  4. Doesn't it already have a factory fitted alarm?
  5. You don't have ECO mode selected by any chance do you?

  7. Ohhhh - so essentially vibration was disappearing when haldex disengaged - once you’re up and moving the car is basically front wheel drive. Makes a lot of sense. You’re right though it should be every 2 years and clean the gauze on the end of the pump as well as change the oil. It isn’t in the dealer workshop manual but all decent independents know to do it (although always worth asking just to check). Anyway, glad all is sorted!
  8. No warning lights or codes on garage’s diagnostic
  9. Hi All, I was wondering if any knowledgeable folks out there have any wiring information and connection locations to install an aftermarket car alarm? I have a 2012 Fabia 1.2 TSi. Many thanks, M
  10. The wheel will fit. Is the 10 year old tyre OK, and as far as being big enough is it pretty much the same circumference as on the Mk4?
  11. I am considering a Mk4 Octavia (2025 onwards probably) and would prefer to have a spare wheel with it. I've had a 2016 Mk3 Octavia since new and used the spare wheel two of three times. I believe that the wheels are universal, i.e. that I could use the spare wheel in my current Mk3 on a Mk4. It's sold as a space saver but its a 16" 205 so plenty big enough. I believe I can just save buying one in the replacement car but would be good to confirm. Any thoughts? Thanks Jon
  12. 2023 66000 miles serviced 3000 miles ago spark plugs done service before last rattle is coming from opposite side to gearbox .noise and loss of power under acceleration
  13. @Westie99 Best give some idea of things, Age and miles cars done, & when it was last serviced? What has it had done at the service, spark plugs changed? Did the clutch get replaced yet?
  14. Well, today has been an interesting day. Collected my, new to me, Scout and when I got home, about 14 miles, someone knocked on my front door to tell me there was a wet patch under the front of the car. Aaahhh. What the heck. OIL!! I cleaned and checked the dipstick and it was DRY!! Called the garage and it is getting taken back first thing tomorrow. Plus the Bolero panel has gone blank. Nothing at all. I'll do some digging.
  15. Hi there I have a Skoda Octavia Etec 1.0 and when you apply throttle to accelerate I get no response or when I do a horrid rattle it seems to be coming from the drivers side of the engine anyone had this or any idears thanks Paul
  16. Garage, which is skoda independent, has been exploring number of possible solutions. They have looked after car since I bought it. Car is still in one piece. I will get codes to share.
  17. What have they actually done since getting the car? and is it dismantled? Time that you had the car moved to someone that knows a bit more than those sitting with your car. A good idea to get the fault codes that are logged.

  19. Hello - Thank you all for your support on this matter. I drive a 2015 Skoda Superb 4x4. 93k miles and it passed its MOT back in July after some required changes. The problem came in the following week when it suddenly lost all power, went into limp mode and has been in garage since July 22nd. The light came onto the dashboard saying something referring to engine management warning. Garage is having real problems diagnosing what it could be. I can try and get ODIS codes if that would be helpful. Thanks Mark

  21. Hello everybody, I have cca 135Hp after stage 1 remap.I heard that 160 HP is not fantasy with turbo fro 1.4 tsi 04E 145721B. Does anyone have experience with turbo swap?1.2 for 1.4?Does it fit?
  22. What is the exact make, model and year of the car?
  23. @jaychen What is the law or regulations in Australia (or is it Austria) on a Decat / DPF removal?
  24. There is no REGULAR Servicing scheduled, advised or recommended for a DQ200 DSG which has 2 oils and a tiny filter in the MCU. This is not to say that you can not change both oils, but a main Dealership might not be prepared to, but a Service Desk person might advise it is done and will book it in, and then have no idea of the cost of Servicing a DQ200 DSG. Get done at an Automatic Gearbox specialist if getting done.
  25. Are you UK based? How does your car pass the MOT? No way to pass diesel particulate test unless DPF is in place...
