P176F00 "Clutch 2 closes unintentionally", returns after clearing. Sensor or mechatronic?
And what do you expect after 65,000 miles without an oil and filter change? The manufacturer claims 80,000 miles without service—lol, that’s advice for the gullible. As a rule, transmission fluid in these models should be changed every 60,000 km (35,000 miles). Sure, the service schedule says engine oil gets changed every two years... lol. Of course, the engine will last as long as the warranty holds, but afterwards—you'll be left wondering, "What was I thinking?" For RS models—and especially TDI models—the engine oil should be changed every 10,000 km, and the transmission is a whole other story. RS models are driven much harder and pushed to the limit—you really need to change the transmission fluid every 35,000 miles.

The state of early mk4's in 2026?
I had 2 rs tsi 2021 and 2022 year. the problem is not so much in the software, as the problem is in the mib, those devices were assembled with old processors where procurement was in chaos due to covid. there were no chips, so they used old chips. only octaves from November 2023 use new chips and a stronger processor. that with old models is a lottery.

2011 Octavia 2.0TDI 140 CFHC Fuel Filter Confusion
Thanks for the help chaps. But wow why on earth is getting the right fuel filter so blooming complicated Trouble is the previous owner old boy said he replaced the fuel filter a couple of years back but didn’t log the service or the part used hence yes I could see what filter is currently fitted by removing it but I don’t really know if he’s fitted the correct filter anyway as there’s so many choices even some only 1mm different on height etc.

Skoda app auxiliary heater not showing
Good afternoon Gent's, Need a bit of advice. I have a Octavia iV 2021. I have installed the My Skoda app, i activate the 3 months free subscription for Care Connect and Infotainment Online, but i can't find all the options from those sections. For example the auxiliary heater, or charging location, not showing at all on the home page. Any advice helps. Thank you in advance

Estate vRS 2.0 TSI 245 PS DSG - fluid change or not
https://www.facebook.com/reel/2854277254907176 Here you can see a short video showing the condition of the transmission fluid in a Peugeot—a vehicle for which the manufacturer claims the fluid never needs changing. Lol, they’re just waiting for you to have to replace the mechatronics unit—and a repair like that costs between €1,800 and €6,000 here in Croatia. Bon appétit!

Estate vRS 2.0 TSI 245 PS DSG - fluid change or not
lol..By all means, stick to what the dealers tell you. Any competent automatic transmission specialist will tell you when the fluid and filter need changing. You could change the fluid at 80,000 miles for the DQ381, but you can't see the actual condition of the fluid inside the transmission. It is madness to change the fluid without changing the filter; such fluid will likely damage the mechatronics unit, causing the transmission to jerk and making gear shifts unsmooth. The transmission normally shifts up after 1,800 RPM; if it is shifting at 1,900 or 2,000 RPM, you have likely already reached the 60,000-mile mark. This device changes the oil in 40 minutes; the housing allows you to see the oil change process and the condition of the oil being replaced. You buy a £30,000 car, yet you can't change the oil after four years.😇

I remember there being a short and a longer housing and filters. Suggest measuring the housing length/dimensions to help you get the right part.

Armed with VIN, it appears to be the part number shown in the green box. The one below the green box is for the housing (3C0127400E) that is greyed out within the orange box of 'Pos. 1s', so I'm assuming that is not suitable for yours. No idea why your housing has a misleading part number label on it. Probably a 'subassembly' that doesn't exist in the spare parts catalogue. 3C0 127 434 filter element with gasket is a mere £41.15 + VAT from Skoda. 😆

Tow car of the year
How can it be tow car of the year when the only completely working towbar is the overly expensive fancy dancy one???

Car swap queries
We've sold our caravan and swapped our 2019 Karoq Edition 2.0 190PS 4X4 DSG for a 2020 Kamiq SE L 1.5 DSG. The Kamiq was from our local Skoda dealership and met our requirements by having: Reversing camera - to assist in reversing out of our drive. Variable boot floor - to allow the dog's crate to fit when the rear seat is down Heated front seats - for Mrs SDA's bad back Amazingly there was only one other Kamiq with that spec. on Autotrader and that was 200 miles away in Devon. We collected the Kamiq last Friday and there are several odd issues: Smell - the interior has a strong odour of white spirit that wasn't there when test driven. Missing floor mat - the driver's floor carpet mat is missing, though the other three are in place. There again I guess it gets the most wear. Missing lever - the driver's seat lumbar adjusting lever isn't there. The stub of the adjuster is there but no lever. The passenger side is OK. Missing tools - there is no spare wheel, but there is the foam tool kit tray which only contains a locking wheel nut and a jack winding handle. No jack, tyre compressor, tyre gunk or anything else. It would be good to know what it should have as standard.

Would the 1.5 150hp Scala be a good highway cruiser?
also tried a 1.5 Monte Carlo trim, much sharper, but nearly 50% more on price for similar age

Would the 1.5 150hp Scala be a good highway cruiser?
hi, I just moved from a Seat Leon FR130 to a Scala 150 SE with DSG The cars are about the same size externally, internally the Scala cabin is a bit smaller, but the boot is larger, which works for me. The controls are more reminiscent of my 2016 Leon FR 150, as is the power. Maybe the handling is'nt as sharp, but that's down to tyres mostly. The Scala is a softer ride and with D mode is an easy motorway cruiser. Price , a bit more than your budget, but not much, 6500 miles, <1 year ex demonstrator. Took me while to find it, still would have preferred a manual, but it seems they are no longer around

2011 Octavia 2.0TDI 140 CFHC Fuel Filter Confusion
Hi folks, Can anyone advise which fuel filter is correct for my application? I’ve searched the usual parts places eg GSF, Opie, ECP, Parts in motion, Autodoc but not one of them tell me the exact fuel filter to use. I’ve done a little research it’s for my 2011 Octavia Mk2 2.0TDI 140 version with CFHC engine code. I’ve even noted the part number on the canister 1k0 127 399 CL but still can’t find any reference to which filter should be in the canister. I’m assuming the canister part number is superseded and the after market fuel filters are referencing the later number perhaps? Anyone help? TIA Nick

Any luck with intermittent limp mode fault?
I sought help from citizens advice and write a letter describing the problems to the overall Company and setting out my rights and what the law requires. I received a reply saying that they will take the car, leave me with a courtesy car, and give the car a run around and basically sort out the problem....to we will see!!
