  1. Good God! I just looked that up and it's a real thing!!!!!!!!!!! I thought you had sneezed while typing and that letter combo came up by random
  2. Now that could be true and I wouldn't put it past someone who names her cars wilberpog and keeps a George in the cellar for a rainy day...
  3. Good luck for the future! I hope you make a good recovery from your illness.
  4. I have no problems with a 40HP car and 0-60mph in 20 seconds. I was just pointing it out as having so little power is quite unusual these days. If they made a 40HP electric Duster I might be interested. It might only cost about £2000 extra if the manufacturer didn't increase their profit margins as a Duster wouldn't cost much more to produce. However, that would upset the applecart and reduce sales of more expense cars on which larger profit margins are made. The lack of rear legroom in the Dacia Spring is a joke, although it's not the only cheap car that has that problem. It must be easy enough for manufacturers to make a car 2" to 4" longer so that there's a decent amount of rear legroom.
  5. You have to look at the small reflection in the back of the shot.... ... or do you?
  6. I think you will find they are 😛 I might give up and post something a bit more obvious next, if anyone is still interested
  7. These photos might not even be connected to any car she's buying.
  8. Check the loom between the A pillar and drivers door by carefully pulling the rubber boot back. A known fail point.
  9. Here is possibly the same item as shown earlier, except from a different manufacturer - parts sharing eh
  10. It wasn’t those so much, they are now sorted, I’m getting divorced and I don’t need such a big car and I can now charge one so I thought I’d try the GTE.

Just back from the dealer after a service and 3 software updates, I went from a B suffix to an F, 1668 to 1810 and no hardware was replaced. First brief play about suggests THIS is what should have been launched with the car much more responsive, Bluetooth actually connects, android auto wireless works, remembers settings! FINALLY. Felt like driving a new car off the lot again when I drove out the dealers
  12. I never got less then 600 miles to a tank on a remapped 2006 1.9 PD TDi. However I drove it for economy, the remap was simply to have the power & torque when it was needed on a mid range overtake, I also ran the tank to close to empty every time always going 50 or more miles beyond when the fuel computer said zero miles. I would usually refill with 55-58 litres and have driven 650-700 miles If you are enjoying the power (and why not!) doing urban journeys and not using the full tank capacity then 500 miles seems reasonable. On my first tankfull I wanted to see what the maximum economy was and also just how far I could drive beyond the "Zero miles remaining", I drove really slowly on the motorway and autoroute journey to France, probably 60 mph then spent the week going for long drives exploring local roads free of traffic and getting to know the vehicle, I drove like I was on an economy contest, the car ran out of fuel at 850 miles. The vehicle was not remapped for the initial journeys, I did it after 6 months, the economy did not seem to be affected aside from the first tankfull when I was enjoying the novelty.
  13. A quite honest video from Mercedes which strongly suggest using lower current wall-box charging at home rather than fast public chargers and even setting maximum charging current to 80% rather than 100% and only reset to 100% if needed on that occasional long journey. It repeats itself in the second half to reinforce the messages, they really do want to push the better policy of slower wall-box charging rather than using rapids.
  14. When we walked to the dealer from the parking lot we walked past beautiful Steel Grey Octavia vRS Combi. Steel Grey was THE ONLY color me and especially my wife wanted because it’s just soooo cool color and our Fabia 1.0TSI DSG Monte Carlo Combi we traded in was Steel Grey and we both loved it. Our plan was to order FWD TDI vRS Combi without almost any extras. We walked to the salesman an he said THE COLOR is discontinued! Aaargh. I was thinking maybe that new green or white. So we then asked is that new Octavia vRS outside sold. And salesman said no. Well turned out it was Octavia Combi vRS TDI 4x4 with almost asl extras but pano roof. It was the only one that color in Finland left. I was oh ****e that is expensive model… So I said to my wife and salesman that I have to go walk around other cars and think about it. When I came back my wife just said to me ”honey we already made the paperwork and I signed, It’s ours and we get in 5 days!”😁 ps. That Steel Grey color cost us 14K€🤣 pps. On the drive home I asked my wife what happened. She said ”Have you forgot, If I go to buy car I don’t want to wait months and months I want it now and I wanted Steel Grey no matter what, I don’t care how much it costs if I want it and If I want something I will always get it!” I was like okay…women😁I have to admit 4x4 is very useful in Finnish snowy winter and it’s a great car to drive😊We both love it.
  15. Review said the Dacia Spring would do 100 kph in ECO code ie 62 mph but 125 kph out of ECO and that is 78 mph so 8 mph more than the UK national speed limit. I got knicked for 80 mph in a 70 mph A road down the bottom of a big hill. I bet one can knicked for a similar speed in the Spring in the right conditions.
  16. For being a boy racer. I mean I am, but that's not the point 🤣
  17. I have FLAC for home audio & then a MP3 file in fixed bit rate at 320kbps lossy for the car..& I have the dynaudio system in the car... The car is not the best place to try to hear the differences in a top end MP3 -vs- FLAC debate....stick to MP3 at 320kbps fixed rate. P.S. I use dbpoweramp for all my ripping & conversion needs...
  18. OK I am an idiot, it wasn't the car, it was the new garmin dash cam, I have it out of my eye line behind the rear view mirror, but it was beeping if it thought there might be a speed camera in the area, garmin must have a GPS list of possible sites....
  19. @skomaz if you put your thumb over the grill in the pics, it dramatically changes the look of it and its much easier to look at. @Lady Elanore if youre happy with it, and are in a position to put tge money in it.... why not?? enjoy it when it arrives, and enjoy the anticipation of said arrival
  20. Sorry Amanda but ewww... However iTs yours and if you like it that's great.
  21. So they are from the car you're buying? Or are we guessing random cars?
  22. Ha ha. I have 5 bikes at home and can only ride one of them thanks to dodgy knee syndrome 😞 I'll be honest, I've been spinning the images around so that it's not totally obvious which way is the correct orientation.
  23. ah've ad a luke, an ah rekun, yer rung..
  24. Small update, saw a set of Fabia 2 floor mats, brand new being given away so I asked for them and... A mere 150 odd mile trip to get them but it was worth it. The original mats are now in the mk1. Its not much on camera but I think its made the interior look a bit fresher. They even came with these mounts for all 4 mats. Basically just screw them into the carpet, dead easy to do. The front of my car had the standard clips but the rears never did so the mats would always end up getting scrunched up. Oddly the rear mats themselves had the holes for clips to go through but the car didn't. You should be able to make out the screw in mounts in this photo. I only needed to use 2 pairs of them for the rears so I have 2 more pairs I can use to secure the old mats properly into the mk1. Averaged just under 59mpg for the whole trip, not terrible. That brown down the sides is just from todays driving, by the time I got it home it was even worse So its getting a wash, even if it will be just as dirty come tomorrow.
  25. Well, if it wasn't connected, it wouldn't display any location, even a wrong one! Based on this, I suspect you may have got a drop or two of water into the aerial base.
  26. I hope the lady has done the Simply Clever thing and the Car in Front will be a Toyota, a Yaris and a Rally breed one.
  27. I've been checking Hyundai and Kia earlier...
  28. I think that’s something under the shiny bling bits. it look familiar right enough from the diesel bros workshop… so now I’m thinking it’s a Korean suv
  29. I've just realised that the car I'm getting might share some components with a different marque. This is possibly a clue, or possibly adds to the confusion. Depends on your viewpoint
  30. Have some inspiration, Amanda.
  31. I had a dreadful experience with my usual dealer, but I think in retrospect it was a lot to do with the young sales assistant who got a bit carried away with what she thought of as a slam dunk sale. My selling of the M4 to another dealership in the same group was a much more pleasant experience and I got the price I wanted too, which was a win. The car, I think I have bought - well PCP'd, was done with a phone call to a chap I know down South and it was pretty much done and dusted with a phone call and a couple of emails. I think the only way I could have beaten his price would be to join the Armed Forces and claim their extra discount - that many manufacturers support I should add (it was as high as 18% recently and it's well deserved imho). I think if the timing had been better, I would have looked at the M2 very seriously, but it's over a year away and possibly will be quite expensive with almost zero discounting. I still like BMW. But to be fair I like most car brands. I've still owned more Fiats than anything else and I still love their small cars. "Fiat Panda Cross, one day you will be mine....but not next year "
  32. One more nice car … thought you left/ got the hump with the bmw garage last service. do bmw use shiny silver bits… don’t know. car icons been a while since in a bmw, seem to recall a lot of orange that’s all I had or is it….

If the car is running fine I would clear the code and see if it comes back. It could’ve had a funny moment and it does happen, quite often it seems with the code. 16395/P0011/000017 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced) Possible Symptoms Power Loss Possible Causes Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) faulty Fuel Pump Relay (J17) faulty Mechanical Timing not correct, including Chain and/or Belt timing. Possible Solutions Check Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) Check Fuel Pump Relay (J17) (applicable for vehicles with J17 only) Check Mechanical Timing I would keep an eye on it, if you’re worried. Take it to a garage that you trust to do a few checks.
  34. Awesome upgrade those KW V2!! Together with the rest of the modifications I think they have completed this new level of performance and are allowing you to use it more often and to a greater level than before. Always wanted to be able to justify those on mine when I had it but didn't manage so I am retroactively jealous 😄 (in a positive way) Photos are good but go on, give us some in-depth feed-back about what has changed and in what way! PS. Still not as fast as a Mini around corners though 😁
  35. A smaller estate should do us fine, but living up a lane we both like the higher seating position of an SUV that makes it easier to see over hedges for oncoming vehicles (especially on one particular bridge). The SEAT Leon ST we had was a great car and we almost replaced it with the 4x4 version, but went with the Karoq for higher seating position. We stayed SUV-ish with the ID.4, but TBH there wasn't an alternative to an SUV with a battery at the time we were looking. We have a reason for an SUV and SWMBO does feel safer in it.
  36. This is similar to the battery care section in the manual of my ID.4. VW go further by suggesting you keep the battery between 40% and 80% SoC in cold weather. (UK probably don't count as having cold weather). VW also make it clear that 80% is recommended for normal day to day driving, 100% only for long trips - Tesla also recommend this limit although Elon tweeted 90% is also fine. The information on battery care is easily found via Google too. The problem going forward is all the company car drivers jumping into EVs for tax reasons right now without really thinking about it, they just want to get in and go. As they don't own the car and get a new one every 2-4 years from the company, they don't care about the battery - that will be someone else's problem. So they charge to 100% all the time, rapid charge all the time, park up for days with low/high states of charge. Ex-lease EVs might be the ones to avoid in future.
  37. Ooooh we've got a jigsaw!
  38. I have acquired the two seats from a wrecker to go into my Karoq so I'm only dealing with the one passenger seat deploy. the drivers seat did not deploy. I now have a UK dealer i am dealing with and all I need now is to get these powered seats, well... powered and working in my non powered seat 2018 Karoq.
  39. Bit blurred, but eventually there might be enough to make a full car picture
  40. Last octavia was rallye green, and although I loved the colour I got sick of being judged. Went for something a bit more stealth this time around and opted for black magic. Don't know why they stopped the rallye green though.
  41. Aye I'd say a brake disc too.

  43. This is why you will have to keep talking here on Briskoda about your Mini, so that we can keep telling you that we disagree. (Without admitting that we hardly bought our Skoda just to satisfy a personal need). 😂
  44. I finally got a retractable towbar fitted at my local Skoda dealer - nice neat job and a reasonable price too. I had thought that the new Combis got electronic release but this one is manual
  45. Is there any other colour?

Hello, I have been following this topic since I ordered mine (Skoda Octavia estate iV Style) in the middle of May. It had been produced fairly quickly after the order and I think at the end of June it was just sitting waiting for chips. It arrived in Finland about 6 weeks ago and I finally received it today. It was ordered from a leasing company. Color is Quartz Grey, the main options were DCC, HUD and Canton sound system. The salesman told me that ordering a new car now takes about 9-10months before delivery. He also said that Canton was an option delaying the production because of missing chips.
  47. Anyone thought about how to change the USB-C ports to always on?
  48. Finally, after months of deciding what to install, after other months to receive the suspension kit, here they are !! 🤩 KW V2 with dcc deactivation
