Took delivery of mine on the 14th. Its a great great car. Ordered on 9th February 2021.

It is; pull once for front fogs, pull again for rear fogs.
  3. Well then your car didn't get scanned. Why did you even start this thread? 🤣
  4. Blimey, I'd be amazed if it's the original engine, especially on LPG.
  5. Don't listen to it, some things cannot be unheard

I must have missed that, thank you for pointing that out though, as I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. However, you will also see that I have also suggested a faulty lighting switch, such as a component level failure which may be the cause of the OP's problem. I merely explained how the switch worked to @nta16as he wasn't sure.
  7. And now the headlight slotted in a treat, and lines up as it should do. I can actually see the adjusters now. I can also now easily remove the headlight with the front plastic bumper fitted.

Blue light actually reduces the effectiveness of your night vision and means that the lights then need to be brighter than they would be if they were yellow, it's why they used yellow headlights in Europe for so many years.
  9. Yes it is, I've been here more than ten years, you can't make the stupid noises with the standard system, you have to either fit a noisy system like the Miltek or a straight pipe from the turbo back. Easiest of all, buy a petrol car with a hard cut rev limiter which cuts the spark but continues to inject fuel, pops, bangs and flames just like a real rally car.
  10. So this will be renamed or there will be a new one "My felly is DONE FOR No2" ? 🧐

A tell-tale will always be illuminated on the dashboard. Otherwise there's a fault somewhere in the circuit. There's also a possibility that the wrong lighting switch is installed, such as one from a model where foglights were not equipped. Here is one from a Fabia with fogs fitted. Here is one from a Fabia without fog-lights equipped. As you'll see, one is missing the graphic to indicate that the front fog-lights can be used. I think this is what you meant, and if so, I hope it helps.
  12. You need to get someone to check for error codes. The glow plug light does not necessarily mean any glow plugs are faulty. Also, glow plug failures do not normally cause a 'limp mode' situation.

The circuit is very simple. Light switch to fuse 65, then to bulbs and telltale input to clocks. With lights on and switch pulled out one click (or two) check for 12V at both ends of the fuse 65 slot. If you have power at neither it's the switch, if you do have 12V there, it's the fuse or the wiring onward towards lights. Haven't had the front bumper off recently and forgotten to plug them back in again when refitting?

Each to their own I guess, although at least it's half price presently😁 My initial post though was regarding it's stated anti-corrosion properties (related to E10). Based on my observations using E10 petrol in my 3 cars I have reverted to E5, given an apparent fall in MPG with E10.
  15. @Thefeliciahacker I recommend creating a new topic for the head gasket job because this one was hijacked as usual.

Maybe give them some Pedigree Chum?
  17. Saves pushing a button. How did I ever live without that? Battery lasts 6 months instead of 15+ years. Risks easy theft of car, nip to the shop, jump out and while waiting to pay the man, hey your car is gone! No, I forgot, jump out, pull my faraday pouch out, unzip it, put the key inside, zip back up, place on pocket. So much easier and quicker than pressing a button. I wonder at what point insurance companies say that car was started with a key and so won't pay out.
  18. Disable Keyless locking. Its in the manual somewhere iirc. Most pointless invention ever.

Well its finally here. Octavia 1.5 TSI SEL stock (no extras except a full size spare wheel and jack) in Graphite Grey. Ordered form Lightcliffe Skoda in Warrington on 14th August 2021 and picked up from the dealer on 13th January 2022. The original estimated delivery date at time of order was 31st January 2022 so the car arrived two weeks ahead of the order delivery date. I originally ordered Quartz Grey but this was discontinued for the 2022 model year and replaced with Graphite Grey. Very pleased with the car although have only done a limited mileage so far. 20. More Lakeland views today. scratted around in the dark looking for my head torch that I knew I’d packed. By time I found it, it was light enough to walk. Missed the first top and sunrise by 8mins. However this is the longest walk I’ve managed without significant pain in my leg. Even managed to buy four mtn rescue folk a round as they were out training their dogs. Plus no actual bar under high crag… enjoy it later fellas! one for the gold miners… no sign of Parker! got to love a bit of industrial blight
  21. My SEL iV with optional black wheels and LED interior pack in petrol blue. Straight off the delivery truck so it’s not clean (I will address that with a full detail) but so far I like the colour and the car itself!
  22. I haven't had to use the fuses... yet. I mustn't shout that though, because it could be listening. I used the 50p to cover a little bit of the £132.50 bill for a wheel bearing replacement though.
  23. I had considered Osrams, Lee. However I was getting a better deal on a pair of Philips +130s from Amazon for my dipped beams, I had them on whilst I had the old units too. My high/main beams are just a set of Osram OEM spec bulbs and do the job nicely. I also swapped in a set of Halfrauds 501 "whiter" sidelight bulbs since I had one that was only working if knocked or jolted (cleaned connectors etc to rule out bad connections) and that's all my local branch had in stock, so those went in today. My next move is a set of indicator bulbs as my current ones are shedding their orange tint quite badly. I have a pair ready to go on whenever I have the time, since the current ones are still legal... at least for now.
  24. Check the stiff vacuum pipe from the brake servo to the inlet manifold, it also has a non return valve half way. Look for splits at all the joints. BZG is IMO a pretty decent engine, 3 pot HTP engines get a lot of unjustified criticism, but the real reason is because they were cheap bargain motors, a large number of owners are cheapskates or just plain ignorant and never look after them, service them on time or correctly. Oil changes are frequently ignored, incorrect oil used etc. A death sentence for any ICE At least the BZG has a decent roller cam chain instead of the disastrous inverted tooth chain abomination of the EA111 tsi series. I think only the most well serviced examples will see over 150,000 miles and 200,000 miles would be exceptional. Don't think I've heard of any HTP engine reaching that mileage. Any engine or gearbox can of course be repaired/refurbished but most will get scrapped prematurely when major issues occur as either it is deemed uneconomical or the owner just wants a change or doesn't want to get involved or take a risk as there are many cowboy garages around ready to rob you blind with shoddy and overpriced work. My 2009 fabia has a BZG engine on 102,000 miles. It is by far the easiest and cheapest Skoda in our fleet (currently fabia mk2, octavia mk2, superb mk3) to service and maintain.

Yea I actaully plan to sell it in may when I finish uni and get a mk4 golf gti, I looked at VRS Fabia but theyre still quite expensive, though the engines in them are bulletproof I suppose
  26. I am not and never have been a VX fanboy, but that VX Cav GSI 2000 16V 4X4 was a very good car, I had it for over 8 years and the factory order VW Passat 2.8V6 4Motion that I replaced it with was less than half the car that GSI 4X4 was, my 2011 Audi S4 is probably better than that Cav GSI 4X4 was, and I should hope so too as it is 20 years newer! I used to have to drive a similar aged VX Cav 1.6 as a pool car at work, and it was a complete dog in every way, no power steering and "not nice" brakes.

The clue is in the original post - "stopped working" - which indicates they did work so the OP must know how to work a switch.
  28. Suggest you have a quick read around the different forum areas, through threads people have created asking for help after OBDeleven (and other) apps have gone tits up. Then make your decision about whether you want to go the app route, or learn how to code. By learning how to code, more people can help should something go wrong as we can ask exactly what you did and what has changed. The apps are not so transparent. There looks to be a thread on a problem app change in the Superb MK3 forum just now in fact (Dome Lights).
  29. If your going down that path you should really spend money on advanced driver training and some one on one training with a professional driver. They make a massive difference to your learning.
  30. My TOPIC is done for. New topic: My Felly Resurrections
  31. Basically it's everywhere but only 1 in 5 has E85.
  32. It IS possible (by quoting the SW version of ALL modules using a suitable diagnostic tool), but NOT by just quoting the infotainment SW version - which is what has been happening in this forum for many months (and which I've commented on before) Here's an analogy - modern cars are NOT like a PC, they are like a company network of multiple PCs - knowing the SW version of your PC tells nothing about the SW version of a PC in another department.
  33. At least a good car thief might sort the Software Faults before moving the car on. So as long as they are not breaking it for parts and the car is recovered it might be better than when stolen. Pity that the communications with the car is not great so unless an aftermarket tracker is fitted it can not be located.

Yes but in the book, unless it's a typo or I've misread it (always likely) there something about a tell-tale bulb being lit or not lit depending on the fog lights lit, or wind direction. There used to be a Plain English Society and places where large and small companies could have there documents checked to make sure they were in plain English, particularly important for contracts (like warranties) and the many exclusions some contain. Perhaps some one gave them one of my posts to try to put in plain English and they all just gave up all together.
  35. I think the problem is that the SW version being quoted is the infotainment system SW version, this says nothing about the SW versions of the other 20+ electronic modules in the car... so has no relevance when e.g. the ACC SW is updated. The only meaningful comparison is by comparing the SW version of ALL the modules in the car, which cannot be read just from the infotainment system but needs a scan tool such as VCDS or OBD11.
  36. Did just that against the garage door. Surprisingly the drivers side one was very close in level.
  37. Did you get the new headlights aligned? When I did mine I just marked where the old beams were shining and set the new ones the same and no one has ever flashed me and it's always been fine on MOTs.
  38. I was really pleased with how this came out. At one point I thought I might have to paint the whole tailgate, but managed to blend the paint nicely on the localised repairs.
  39. Next was the tailgate. This has the usual mess around the push button and around the handle. I think some of this must have been caused when the police chevron decals were fitted and they cut around the handle, damaging the paint.
  40. What year is the car? On the first diagram I looked at, the same fuse goes to interior monitoring sensor and central convenience module. Latter might be disrupted undesirably. Could try just pulling fuse 60 and seeing if anything else doesn't work, but happy to look for correct circuit if given year. Funnily enough I removed the alarm horn from my Polo just a couple of weekends back, pre-emptively rather than 'cos it was causing trouble. Had Lithium rechargeables inside rather than NiCds or similar.
  41. Just a quick update. Changed the pump and filter. Both were choked up. Haldex now works perfect.
  42. Forecast on Tuesday was for low cloud, fog with a high holding to the weekend. Booked a bed for Thursday night and off I went. Perfect weather to get up to the lakes and above the clouds… was my hunch, the gamble paid off. the lakes with an inversion. Looking south from skiddaw. then something I’d never seen before. It was for I g really slowly then vanished. In all my days I’d not heard about or seen… this is a white rainbow or a Fogbow. Fogbow with brockenspectre for bonus points now I just have to work for eight hours without falling asleep.
  43. I've just had mine remapped. It makes it much nicer to drive. As @freelunch says, there's almost a hesitancy when you first press the accelerator, the remap helps with this, but a pedal box in on my to do list. I'd also think about one of these 034Motorsport Billet Aluminium MQB Dogbone Mount Insert - Awesome GTI - Volkswagen Audi Group Specialists. Sometimes when you pull away quickly the wheels spin up a little and you get this banging noise. These are supposed to stop it. I haven't got one yet, but hope to have one soon.
  44. AutoLock On/Off can be added to the car's menu - it's now possible via 1-click App in Obd-eleven. I would never turn it off, but since you were concerned about it...
  45. Oh that's a great tip thanks! For some reason it doesn't have the drop down arm rest. So the kids are only allowed bottles in the back because I'm not having a McDonald's milkshake incident again!
