  1. one suggestion would be to have a helper when you first start putting it back up otherwise you will have to do as I did and use your head to keep it raised up while you fix first screws lol.

People can only share the knowledge and experience that they have, so it's not going to be possible for members here to help/solve every problem and to expect that is unreasonable. I hope you find a solution elsewhere, but don't blame us for not being all knowing.

It's an unfortunate fact that Briskoda can't be the be all and end all to all our members. However you can judge that people are generally willing to help if or when they are able. Therefore comments like, "Thanks for nothing" won't help to elicit a response in future. Hopefully your dilemma is sorted but please remember that Briskoda doesn't work better by adding unnecessary confrontation.
  4. Posted by another member in a thread about 1.2 TSI's & pinched. To save members and others having to pay to get information they should get free because they paid to buy a car. I will ask a Mod to pin this in the Mk3 Fabia section. Personally, i am not so sure about the Temperatures given, like from 18*oC. Cold starts and the need to get things up to temperature apply to actual temperatures much colder than where the car has sat 6 hours and the coolant is at 18*oC to 33*oC. Is there some error in the figures????
  5. Total price of job £44 lol pretty sure cheaper than a proper trim shop.
  6. I used spray glue on the main part but used evostick brush on glue for the folded edges to give it better sticking power.

Sorry you haven’t solved this, but if nobody is able to help, what could they do? For instance, my car is a 2018 reg, with Amundsen unit, and a plug and play rear view/reverse camera, ie I have no experience of the problem you are having. That’s why I for one haven’t offered help. And judging by the amount of help I have received from members on this forum about other matters (including my reverse camera!!) I think it’s just a case of literally that nobody knows the answer. Would you have preferred it if everyone had replied with “sorry, I don’t know the answer, but hope you get it sorted”? If so, I’ll say it. “sorry, I don’t know the answer, but hope you get it sorted”

Exactly…I mean I know for sure there are few functions that can be turned on with one press of the button…and if I do that how on earth they could found that up?

Take a close look at the empty spaces in the fuse board: - if it has no contacts, perfect - if it has a single contact, that's fine - if it has contacts on both sides, it's missing a fuse At a complete guess, I'd check fuse 12 (5 amp?) in the engine bay as I think that's the CAN gateway. It would explain both the no start and lack of OBD...
  13. Wee couple of things done on the car whilst I await a lambda sensor... First things first, the alloy I replaced with another one came with a tyre on it, which unfortunately had a fair gash in the sidewall it turns out. So that's off and replaced with the spare from the boot. I'll have to get the tyre swapped between the FUBAR-ed alloy and the "better" one so that I'm not on the steelie for another eternity. Secondly, I missed having AM radio in my car so that I could listen to a local station which doesn't broadcast on FM. So after being scalped by Halfords, I have an antenna amp thing for the car. Fitting this required having the stereo out, which then wouldn't stay in the dash. This was fixed today. Wiring for the antenna amp was done using the blue wire on the ISO loom and the wire from the amp and a crimp. Now works like a wee champ. Today was also when the fitting of a part I ordered was done... I finally managed to source a DIN drawer from an Elegance. Job's a good 'un.

  17. Hi All, I had the issue of the annoying service reminder near the beginning of the pandemic. I recall posting a question on this forum as to how to get rid of the reminder. A reply I received was as follows: "I've researched this topic extensively and several methods are suggested. As far as I can make out, for Superb iii with conventional dash, the method is something like Sit in car, doors closed, bonnet too. Press and hold SET button under dash clocks, turn on ignition (don't start engine), still holding down SET, wait until a "Reset Oil service?" message appears in the dash, continue holding SET and eventually a "Reset Inspection service?" message appears, immediately release the SET button and then press it again and release to do the reset. Not sure if it acknowledges, but then turn off the ignition. Note that resetting this way will set the interval to fixed. Never done it yet on my Superb so no guarantees. " It worked perfectly on my 2016 Superb III Estate. Hope this might be useful. Cheers Paul R T

  19. I wanted to do the seat centres in something like the Golf GTI interior, but I have sewing skills comparable to the darts skills of Stevie Wonder.
  20. I'd do yours in tartan fabric
  21. Well rock and roll! 😁 I'll still probably get it done at 40K miles, but even at my slightly increased mileage that will still take me another 5 or 6 years. Unless there's an "either x miles or n years" service interval on the DSG boxes.
  22. There was a TMC UK issue a few weeks ago. Came up on the Seat Cupra board similar, map had been updated but I tested in on my standard unit and the mib2 high. Both were down. Then after a couple of days it came back. The person reporting it got it back so I re checked. Conclusion wobbly feeder systems in the UK which populate the TMC data. The top icon disappears on the Seat, with TMC with a cross thru it when it's not working. No cross and it's receiving. It will be back. You mark a route into the centre of London for testing 😍.
  23. Cheers..I found it after I put the question up. Will see what happens. 👍
  24. I put my reg in the 'book a service' thingy, and those are the prices it came back with. It's set to fixed servicing this time around as I may keep this car long term (as my last ever ICE) and I want to look after it properly. Previous cars have always been set to variable servicing - I've gotten away with only servicing them once on 3 year PCPs 😃.
  25. How old is your car? There was a Service Campaign on DQ200's 2013-2015 started in 2017 because of possible pressure issues leaks, '34H5' a Software Update. Was that ever done. Now is all going to depend on what the oil leak is. There are 2 oils in the DQ200 DSG. in the box and in the MCU, the MCU leak is rather common, or is it Engine Oil that is leaking. ???? Was the DQ200 DSG's Micro switch repaired under warranty or did you pay for the work? How much did this work cost? It has a 2 year part & labour warranty if you paid for this. The DSG including the Mechatronic Control Unit will need inspecting.

Personally I don't think that any aftermarket grills fit these cars, especially the facelift. I am curious to see what are you planning on doing to your original one. In my opinion the best front look for the felicia is the prefacelift grill with facelift bumper, without this splitter: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JOLO2tZVb5JMSS5Tejw6SW7uucAmMMvU/view?usp=sharing ...or full prefacelift with headlight washers: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RT_4MFkjnBvD9pMBhuPSXgXbWfU6OFAR/view?usp=sharing For the facelift I really like what this guy did with the octavia mk1 vrs front bumper and the grill (not a huge fan of the headlights): But with this front end you'll need side skirts and deeper rear bumper which is obviously not what you are chasing😁

This figures looks really high 😮! I usually wait until 1000 or 500km AdBlue range left before filling up and once fully refilled (around 10-11l), it generally displays 14000km range... I assume the AdBlue tank has the same capacity whatever TDI150 or TDI190.
  29. I fully get the search and Google options, but after countless time of searching, it's apparent this is the best place to ask! I'm a member of many forums over the years, and found Google searches are alright, but they always seem opinions of people....just that... opinions! Not actual first hand experience or expertise from people that own and live with the models in question, who can give real professional/experienced advice. Hope again you all don't mind the questions ✌️
  30. I think it's the same for 2wd or 4wd, I don't recall seeing anything on it that wouldn't work on a 4x4 when I fitted mine (OE Skoda).
  31. So relieved to see these two are doing well (the nest was attacked by a mink a few weeks ago)

You need new bolts for the injectors and pillars, you don't need new collets, valve brand doesn't matter, just order them from FPS. I don't know what you mean about how do you get the glow plugs and injectors out, you just undo and remove them before you remove the head from the block so you don't have to hold the head still.
  33. That's the problem I was having. Apart from the curb damage by my wife, the diamond cut edges of the originals corroded easily. I think I've had some of the wheels refurbed 2 / 3 times now. Hopefully the change to all black powder coating will offer more protection.
  34. I suspect I'm having the same problem with my 1.6 (swarf in fuel filter, limp mode etc) and it's only at 115,000 miles on the clock. It's incredibly frustrating as you point out just how bad the used car market is right now. Even the bangers cost about a grand!
  35. All done. What do you think? Before. After. The only thing I'm not happy with is the rusty inner hubs & calipers. Which means I might have to have a go at them myself. Other than that I think the wheels look pretty good & give the car a meaner look.
  36. Any chance you'd be willing to share what you did so that anyone else looking to do the same knows?

Well Just hopped in to say hi and to share some happy news 😜 Finally my Kamiq arrived and already in my garage 🎉🎉🎉 First impressions….I’m blown away and excited…it’s totally different experience and goosebumps whenever I push start button. First change that I noticed is that front signal led lights are not dinamic and let’s say that’s the victim of chip shortage…every car produced from week 12 doesn’t have dinamic front signal light…the rear ones are still dinamic and I love it heheh👍🏻 So tomorrow I’ll have 1-on-1 time to adjust everything and make it properly mine heheh…Here are few pictures I managed to take since yesterday 😜

I think the insurance companies are more likely to become the limiting factor than the legislators. Already, some are refusing payouts on things like flooding where DIY plumbing has been carried out.
  40. I took my car to the dealers last Tuesday with a handful of documentary evidence (thanks to this forum), and, as a result, Skoda technical have confirmed there is a software update that will take 4-5 hours. My car is booked in to have this done the week after next. I'll keep you posted.
  41. If it's any help I have the exact same engine 2.0L TDI CRMB early 2017 without the water trap and I replaced my filter two weeks ago. Using my trade account at TPS the genuine OEM part was £22.30 incl. VAT. Part no. for your reference is 5Q0 127 177. The equivalent Valeo part no. on Autodoc is 587095 and is currently showing at the time of this post as £10.58 incl. VAT but the delivery cost is £8.45. So is the £3 saving and the delivery waiting time really worth it? Fair enough if you're ordering several items from them and you don't have a TPS trade account.
  42. yes indeed I love knowing that no one can just go and buy the same car, obviously up gti you can but it’s still different . Still got lots I want to do but it’s 90% there. And thanks for reading 👍🏼
  43. Been out with my 35mm SLR because I've been off for a wee while and have had even more time on my hands. Scanner done it no justice really, the print looks much better, but I've run it through some editing software to brighten it up a tad. fabia.bmp
