Just collected my car! Will update excel and maybe add some pictures too later today.

So I finally collected my car on Saturday the 20th August so 13 months after placing the order on 17th July 2021. A great day only marred by the fact that I ordered Quartz Grey and they delivered a Graphite Grey car, dealer didn't even mention this until I raised the issue. I have accepted the car of course and am very happy with it so far, My daily commute of 28 miles has been possible on all electric so far. Fingers crossed for all of you out there waiting for yours.

My car is not anymore grey in app. Now I finally see real picture. I hope it will arrive soon. In few days it will be one year waiting.
  4. Article on RAC news today suggesting: "the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has discussed potentially introducing a 20mph speed limit for cyclists." Plus: " Shapps vowed to introduce a ‘Death by Dangerous Cycling’ law after several major incidents that meant that the guilty cyclist received a much shorter sentence in comparison to someone behind the wheel of a car" "there have also been discussions about introducing number plates and insurance for cyclists under plans for the new law. As a result, cyclists could receive licence penalty points and fines for breaking speed limits, running red lights, and other illegal manoeuvres." IMO well overdue for the minority who abuse the roads, but I'm sure it will be controversial! Full article HERE.

Now the Google sheet (not Excel as I wrote earlier) is updated. And here´s two pictures. No extras regarding the outfit, but even as a basic Style model looks good, I would say :). Lot of technique to learn compared to my previous Octavia (III).

Congratulations 🥳 and many safe kms, waiting for the pictures 😊 For others - do you still check the app several times during the day? Asking for a friend ofc 😊

It looks like Skoda have replaced Quartz Grey with Graphite Grey on the configurator and on the VRS its a no cost option so no issue on the price. The dealer did honour the original price as well as the car has increased by over £2,000 since I ordered it and the finance company honoured their deal as well so very happy with all that. If I'm honest I think I prefer the Colour i got over what I ordered so its been a win win for me.
  8. For those interested my issues were being caused by a faulty towbar module. I had an after market towsure towbar fitted with vehicle specific wiring and the computer upgrade done. Had been working fine and then seemingly failed. Bizarrely that then causes the car to deactivate all parking sensors as a precaution. Thankfully all sorted now
  9. @MilgeSYou have driven the Dry & Wet Clutch DSG's with your Fabias and Polo's. If this car's box feels wrong then probably because it has something wrong with it..
  10. I cycled down a gem of a lane I'd not previously been down just outside of Polegate. As I got to the end of the lane I rounded a corner to find a lovely little church I'd no idea was there: The steepening slope on the right is the South Downs and where I ran out of cyclable surface for my bike. Beautiful area - I'll go back to take some photos of the cracking views over the Downs and Folkington Estate. Gaz
  11. There is a deterrent sold in the shops and on line. Those bright plastic things for throwing a ball for a dog. As you go to throw that ball you can hardly be expected to spot a cyclist coming up quick behind you. If you happen to have forgotten to take a dog with you that is just how things are.
  12. Have you tried gently pulling the light switch out when the lights are on, a 2 stage thing, first front lamps, 2nd rears!
  13. Wow, love it when people put such great resources out there.
  14. Already done, as I noticed the title. Correct, there's very little difference in the two. I have all the ratios on my computer, but some people just won't have it and believe in the 6-speed better. I have no idea if the box is stronger to cope with more power, but the AUQ can still output 300lbft... EDIT. Found it -
  15. Yeah that's always an option, I'm just really curious.. Success!! N103 196 01 is Lear Corporation SIKO 1 6,3 series, with the part number of 3202557S2. Catalog here, the legacy part number is: 26817.213.178 https://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/Lear Catalog.pdf I'm totally lost why they used such an odd terminal, but that is definetly it. Available here: https://www.autokabel.cz/kontakt-siko1

Congrats! Do send the pics please
  17. I understand your purist wish to have everything 'just so' and OEM, but if you're already going to be fitting secondhand relay holders, why not just extract the pins/wires that come with them, bin the large ones and replace, re-use the 6.3mm ones by either connecting onto the existing wire, or cutting that back close to the crimp and soldering onto your loom. They're only going to be carrying, what, 50mA of coil current or something, sub-critical. Nice to get a full list of parts required for anyone interested though.

  19. Removing the door armrest requires the door car trim to b removed first.
  20. Totally agree with this, I never looked any more into getting a CD player, I just ripped all my cd's to a good quality SD card and never looked back.
  21. Skoda Estelles & Rapids had a saddle tank with just one sender unit making for amusing fuel level readings when in motion.
  22. Sounds more just a DSG issue as a 2021 1.5 TSI engine should not have the issue that required the Software Updates. Links here in a post from me this morning. Threads in a few sections over the past 3 years. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505561-if-not-touranzas-then-what/page/2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506516-karoq-kangerooing

If it helps, I have had 4 cars with 1.2 or 1.0 tsi petrol engines and DSG-7 boxes The only one that gave some trouble was in a 2012 roomster, and DSG was fixed under warranty at 2 years old, Kept the car for another 7 years and DSG and engine never gave any other trouble. I suspect the earlier problems are no more.

Hi guys, I just received a call from the car dealer. He told me that there is a preliminary confirmation of my order 🚗 to get into production in the next two weeks. The estimated delivery date is sometime at the beginning of October. Well, I'll see how it unfolds, but at least there is hope or "eppur si muove".. 😀. This is the first positive info I received from a car dealer since July 2021, when I placed the order.

i got my car 27 july 22. it is a lease car and they kept the same price i was told when ordering my car in may 21.very happy about that.
  26. Yes I have a TSI Fabia III which is a cracking engine. I have now managed to drive the remapped Citigo car back to back with mine on local known roads. It is noticeably more responsive / quicker from idle and all the way up the rev range. It will pull up hills easier, you don't want / need to change down gear as much. Motorway hills / overtakes are much better / easier than mine. It's no GTI but it makes the car nicer / easier to drive. Fuel consumption seems to be very similar to mine with 55 MPG on last tank used. But my Fabia III is much better on fuel consumption with 62 MPG on the last tank. Thanks, AG Falco
  27. Just had mine repaired after having the flashing spanner symbol. It spewed green hydraulic oil out. Was the mechatronics housing that had a crack in it. Housing replaced and mechatronics rebuilt.
  28. In fact the TSi Up! was so good as to make the GTi seem not worth the extra 💰
  29. Thanks again. It popped off so easy. Managed to push the light switch in fully and run an iPhone cable too.
  30. I did a customers 87 Audi Coupe GT with £2k worth of Dynamatt and liner, the car was 20-mm lower after...😁
  31. Hi all, my new Kodiaq was finally delivered this morning after a 13 month wait! Very happy with it so far, it's great! I hope everyone else who has been waiting for so long, gets theirs very soon too.
  32. Marantz CD63 KI-Signature anyone? I imagine a lot of the desire for tape is you can't really buy it now, but you can still buy a CD/DVD/BR player that will do a good job for not a lot.
  33. The worst corroded under bonnet you ever see and worse alloy are those cars that have had 'kerb side' autos steam cleaning engine compartments. Valeting 'sales cars etc. Use an air line, use a vacuum, remove sand / salt and oily rag wipe, or waxoyl etc, and remember that will have more sand / salt sticking over time. but then oil rag / wipe and clean. Use rust inhibitor on exposed metal, paint exposed metal and generally keep clean and protected. ..................... This 12 year old Volvo was pretty bad when i got it and it got a bit of a non detergent wash and scrub up and the alloy was just given a wipe over occasionally. The engine was a used replacement and the alloy not nice but it got no worse. I use Tyre & Bumper restorer to clean plastics.
  34. I was only acutally able to pull this part number up in ETKA, the A part seems to have been removed. It's kinda limited in the "possible single wire" 4B0 937 527 Repair kit - assembly.pdf Attached is the Repair kit/assembly that shows many more choices, let me know if this even helps (I might be a little late to the party as busy night) I can pull up images for each if needed should that assist.
  35. The Sportline Rear diffuser comes with the chrome. This is the one I got... http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Superb-III-original-Skoda-rear-bumper-diffusor-SPORT-LINE-full-set-assambled
  36. So, to update this, i’ve had it lowered for about 12 months on Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, i’ve fitted bonnet struts, front strut brace, wheel spacers front and rear, wind deflectors, colour coded badges, changed the chrome lettering and front grille surround for black and fitted the front Maxton splitter. I’ve got some new front fog lights on the way and keep toying with Eibach front and rear arbs and also a remap. I said this was staying standard when i bought it. 🤦🏻‍♂️😆

Yep, can be set with VCDS. If I get chance will sort out details from when mods were done on my car back in 2014, make it a really quick job for the local chappy
  38. I've got a couple too... Ones a panasonic a d one a technics but given both brands are the same company the only difference is one has an anti skip feature and is silver the other doesn't and is grey. They still work fine and my eldest uses one to play backing tracks when she's practising the flute.
  39. Will start doing the doors soon. Today I did the boot lid. Added butyl mats in the cavities with a lot of flat surfaces. The trim got some butyl mats and acoustic foam on top.
  40. Parcel shelf is clever in how it stows. Dog mode! 🐾 So, had a little drive and poke round. Definitely a comfy cruiser in Normal mode. Goes nicely in Sport. Need to play with Individual settings I think. Canton sounds good. 5 series had passive dampers and steered better, but I knew that. Love the toys and spec. Perforated leather seems decent quality. Tracking slightly out - but will check tyre pressures later first - will let them cool down.

At long last!!!! They are real, I can happily say I've taken delivery of my MK4 vRS Octavia as of last Friday! Ordered around Halloween 2021 and landed sometime late July or early August. I didn't get any notification from dealer, it literally just appeared in the showroom one day. Phoenix Orange TDI with wireless charging front and rear sensors etc
  42. The faulty timing chain tensioner had no wedge at all under the metal clip (probably it was so worn that it fell through the little hole. I hope that little piece of metal has been flushed with the oil. Also the camshaft bridge had the metal mesh torn apart (but not loose). I've read there is a new bridge model with better filter so I'll buy the new version. As I've mentioned earlier the engine had an increased oil consumption in the last 3 months prior to this fault (oil sensor lit every three weeks or so after oil top up). Do you have any suggestion for what else should I check while the engine is opened to find why it was all of the sudden burning more oil.
  43. Shhhh, don’t jinx it now 🤫
