  3. Yeah, give it to me
  4. Something involving a posh brass and some white powder?
  5. Well, that went off topic suddenly. What's the point in that? If you don't like someone's posts, add them to your ignore list - problem solved. No need to derail the thread to have a dig at someone.
  6. Pic of my car, picked up last monday but forgot to post.
  7. look like a safety car 😁
  8. So a 2.0 TDI and cam belt & water pump change is a totally different job from a 1.5 TSI ACT, which is a different job from a 1.4 TSI, a 1.5 TSI or even a 1.0TSI. @ords The price in the link is good, but anyone checking must remember to go to the 1.5 TSI ACT for the price if that is what they have. So £694 they show. The Service Desk staff & their Managers and the Dealer Principals needs to be getting their heads together with their Master Techs. It can not be for the next months and years just 'Pick a number any number' and tell them that is what Skoda / VW / SEAT / Audi says. There are parts and labour & VAT to be charged and it is not supposed to be a goose and a golden egg situation. As to the Service / replacement interval. that discussion will go on forever. The price and the range of prices being quoted on a 1.5 TSI ACT is ridiculous. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510301-15-tsi-timing-belt-interval VW Dealership Desk Staff are not any better trained or qualified than at a Skoda, SEAT or Audi dealership on things mechanical. They need to phone a friend or ask someone that knows just as much, and not just ask someone else that is clueless. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510188-question-re-cambelt-vw-t-roc
  9. This weather with all the mess on the roads its tempting not to clean 'as it will get dirty again' but sorry, I don't like driving dirty so after a weekend wash.
  10. Pick mine up 03 March, can't wait.
  11. I have just ordered a new 1.5 SEL auto to replace my 2018 manual (left hip joint starting to twinge). After ordering exactly the same spec as my old one from a dealer, I discovered rear tables removal £0 in the options!!!! The dealer agreed to alter the order, but Skoda said no only available with the Electric seat pack, He did send me the emails to / from Skoda and it is a glitch that shows the £0 as an option but does not indicate you must spend £1250 or so to get it. Posted in case anyone else tries to order this option.
  12. These are fixable most are updates sos might need a new ocu or updated. Informant press On button till it restarts speakers thump this does a reset but doesn’t change your settings. Look at getting Skoda connect go to website take a look doesn’t suit everyone. But you get map updates app updates maps in realtime plus more
  13. Welcome to the forum. You have both the cars have you not looked underneath them to see?
  14. ASY engine? Should be.... EDIT Pete beat me to it
  15. Thank you a lot Pete, tomorrow i will go to a store around here that seems to have some nice quality crews
  16. First of the item 13s here I think Kharl, M8x48 long. drive shaft; for manual gearbox Fabia (FAB) 2002 year Skoda EUROPA 407020 (7zap.com) According to this listing they are quite a high strength rating, 12.9 Bolt, propshaft flange N91108201 TOPRAN, FEBI BILSTEIN, MAPCO OE part number in original quality (onlinecarparts.co.uk). Not sure if genuine ones are same. XZN head fitting.
  17. The oil pumps are pretty bullet proof and would normally last for millions of miles, the gauze strainer on the pick up pipe being partially blocked is the likely culprit, probably because someone has used gasket sealer or worse silicone sealer somewhere on the engine.
  18. My Octavia is a 2017 1.5 petrol came up for the cambelt change in december 2022 70k miles and 5 years , was charged £730 in total ,at a Main Skoda Dealer in Kent and job took about 5 hours , your being quoted over the top
  19. In principle yes, but you'd need the rear floor, rear suspension, prop shaft, shaft tunnel and transaxle from the 4x4.
  20. Bilstein make a b4 and b6 that are both DCC. Damptronic I think they call it. Koni SA are definitely NOT DCC. Although if you get a set of gadgets (bilstein also make them) you can fit regular shocks to a DCC car. You obviously lose the function though.
  21. Yes that is so true, Feel like my P-Zero's are great in the dry but shockingly bad in the wet and cold. Also where I got the replacement tyre from said they will take the bulging tyre and send it to Pirelli, they were unsure how to as nobody has done it before, interested to see how it goes.
  22. Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything. Yeap, I used to change my tyres in sets of four, if after a thousand miles I didn't like them I'd replace that set, no point having a performance vehicle with tyres you don't like and don't all perform as they should as a set - but those days are long gone.
  23. You might just be lucky that Skoda (VW UK) need more low emission vehicles first registered in their need to meet the Fleet Average Co2 for the UK.
  24. & when you have an e-brake that is not so easy with the rear brakes. You are supposed to be able to apply the e-brake in an emergency while moving or the passenger is as you have a heart attack or just fall asleep from boredom. It is applying the e-brake down hills, or in a multstorey car park etc. Not!
  25. There was someone on here doing this a little while back. I suggest a search through postings on the mk1 and projects fora to see what you can find.
  26. New springs and shock absorbers will bring the ride height back to standard. Increased ride height springs will only increase the ride height by about 15mm. The problem with increased ride height springs and shock absorbers is the difficulty finding ones that are a good match to the original Skoda parts that the increased ride height cars use, as the aftermarket is generally aimed as standard ride height cars. Try the standard ride height with new springs and shock absorbers, and if you're still not happy with the ride height fit slightly oversize tyres with a slightly bigger outside diameter, but I doubt you would need to do that even for London roads. Most people who fit increased ride height springs and shock absorbers take their cars off-road such as down rutted dirt tracks...and that's where the Octavia Scout comes in, as that car uses both 15mm increased ride height springs and approximately 15mm increased ride height from the tyres...making a total increase in ride height of about 30mm. Front springs for Octavia MK3 1.4 petrol 150HP hatchback DSG standard ride height 5Q0411105GH Kilen 23129 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354459092355? Rear springs for Octavia MK3 1.4 petrol 150HP hatchback DSG standard ride height without towbar 5Q0511121AE Kilen 63139 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354459092356 Good matching aftermarket springs were easy to find. Not so easy, is finding good matching aftermarket shock absorbers...at least without the OEM part numbers for the original shock absorbers that the car left the factory with. So what are the OEM part numbers for your front and rear shock absorbers? You can find these out if you have all your car's build codes. There's an ebay seller who can supply your car's build codes for about 3 Euros. Search "skoda vin decoder" on ebay to find the listing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224631127243 As you can see below, some of your car's build codes may include L03 1JA 0YE. If your car is still on the original front springs, they should be marked with coloured dots that are used to identify them. 1 Blue dot and 1 Violet dot means that the front springs have OEM part number 5Q0411105GH, as shown below. It looks like the rear springs aren't marked with coloured dots. Front coil spring 5Q0411105GH L03 1 Blue dot, 1 Violet dot Rear coil spring 15Q0511121AE 1JA+0YE
  27. Yes, the dealer graphics don't help 🤣
  28. Just got of the phone from Pirelli and had a really helpful woman explain that the new tyre fitter replacing the bulging tyre or the original fitter of the bulging tyre can 'legally' decline my request to send the tyre to Pirelli, guess that's good news and hoping we get somewhere. Will update if anything progresses.
  29. Also check the stone guards behind the disc brakes. The mountings rust away.
  30. After I disabled the "turn on steering wheel heating automatically" and never used the steering wheel heating function, the Travel Assist and SOS Assist warnings never popped up again. 10 days and not a single error.
  31. I didn’t so thanks for putting me straight. 👍🏻
  32. GOnna go on the SEARCH FOR THE BLUE WIRE. Or make a movie of that title. @Breezy_Pete be careful what you wish for anyone know the best site to get a shop/repair manual? Don;t mind payin for a good one...
  33. Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything. @MicMac sorry but it's not the way I am. If you don't like it don't be distracted by it scroll on by or put me on your 'Ignore list' which I think means you then don't see my posts or you could 'Report' me or my posts or get together with others and get me booted off the site. I hope this post was succinct enough for you.
  34. This is usually when the fob is accidentally pressed such as when in a pocket.
  35. @mpm222 Where did you find that chart of prices? That will not be the labour charge @ Victoria Garage Maud if you go there with your Skoda or any car for work. http://victoriagarage-maud.co.uk Is it even the hourly rate at Skoda Aberdeen, part of the John Clark Motor Group. http://john-clark.co.uk/skoda

Hello It seems that Skoda modifies the headlight bulb fixings according to the models. Here are photos of the headlights fitted to my 2020 Fabia Combi, with H7 bulbs. On the instructions, it is indicated that to take out the bulb, you must first press the base down, then take it out. Personally, I had difficulties, because the bulb got stuck. Eventually I pulled and pulled out the circular spring that holds the bulb, and had great difficulty getting everything back in place. (Google translation)
  37. Nope, needs to be a car with both seats From the factory and is it on both seats? if so, on the passenger side there is 4 connectors going into the box under the seat, the 32 pin silver/grey connector with the pink/purple locking tab. if you can disconnect that and on the side is a small plastic release to see all the wires, I need to know if there’s a brown wire in pin 2. I know it’s a huge ask but would help me out a lot
  38. This update is enabled by Google on the server side, probably per account. That's why you have it on one phone, but not other. AA version is not that important (as long as it's 8.6 or higher), same goes for headunit firmware - not important. Those who do not have it can only wait till Google will enable it, and no one knows what is the key here, as ir seems very random.
  39. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507544-cam-belt-for-15-tsi-in-east-kent Others that have already had a timing belt replaced on a 1.5 TSI ACT could say how much they paid, and also those that went with the belt and water pump. Saying what it cost with some other engine matters not one little bit.
  40. I had a front spring break just after Christmas so had both replaced at the same time. Was planning to go special actives soon so that was the kick I needed to order them on special offer last week, being fitted in 3 weeks (earliest my local Indy can do and not desperate anyway) - can’t wait to see if it sorts out the ride when pushing on a bit on my local bumpy roads!
  41. That's the one! Comes as part of the vented/leather seat option (in Aus).
  42. Final update. Unit 18 did a great job of refitting after I de-rusted and painted the bar. I asked my local powder coater and they said because its large and also rusty steel they could not really do it. So an hour with a wire brush and paint and its like new again. I did try to contact Jabba for a full rebuild kit but they neither answered the phone or replied to the contact form so just cleaned up the old ones. They were fine thankfully. Amazing the difference the bar makes. When I drove without it the car was no longer chuckable and fun.
  43. I would have recommended Furrows Oswestry to anyone before today. I still think there's an error. They tell me a manager will contact me.

Sounds like fiction (being polite rather than upset swear filter) Unconfirmed date, exactly half year ahead is round number guesswork. Apart from anything else week 28 (end of July), just happens to be when factory normally starts a 3 week summer break to mid August. Ask dealer why it will be made during factory summer shutdown, I would love to know their answer.
  45. I always indicate to turn back into the lane I was in after the overtake so that driver knows what you are doing. The steering warning you can turn it off in the settings

So I’ve finally requested cancellation of my order today as the whole thing was becoming ridiculous - PHEV estate in race blue with tow bar, wireless charging, winter pack. I bought a Volvo V60, B4 MHEV estate with only 6500 miles instead. Happy days! 😁 I will probably never consider a Skoda again.
  47. OK. So the DSG is not due Oil change to 80,000 miles. (Consider that maybe at 40,000 miles or sooner than 80,000, but the Schedule is 80,000.) Re the VAQ. See what Arnold's gave as the Servicing, Oil & Inspection and Extended Scope. Maybe Brake Fluid, Pollen Filters, maybe a look at the Air Filter etc. ASK A SKODA DEALERSHIP OR CUSTOMER SERVICES FOR THE FULL SERVICE AND WARRANTY RECORD ON THE SYSTEM IF AC HAS JUST THE BASIC INFO. That is if the car came from an Arnold Clark Dealer that is a non Skoda Dealership. (Nothing stops them getting on the system and have everything on it available for you.) But you need to know the Diff was done. If not it needs done. @ 3 years / 30,000 miles. Even sooner.
