  1. and the fact that Khan and other exponents want to charge EVs to enter a ULEZ proves its all just a big con trick and sweet fanny adam to do with reducing emissions (sorry that's a different thread isn't it ;o))
  2. The problem with older cars is that by the time you become the owner, you could find you have any 5x112 wheels from the VAG empire fitted !
  3. Spotted this on the Teversal Trail - should be preserved for posterity!
  4. Haha. I'm in the gym right now but I'll have a look for the umbrella when I go back to the car. I've seen a few YouTube reviews from when I was making my mind up and I'd forgotten about the umbrella! I made a really good choice, so you don't need to remind me, yeah. 😝🙂👍
  5. (a) is the answer The same you would have done in a regular automatic in reverse
  6. According to the Yokohama website, Geolandars aren't just AT (All-Terrain) tyres but they also have the 3PMSF symbol, which means they have passed a test for good traction in the snow. Having the 3PMSF symbol means a tyre is winter rated. So whether it's off-road, mud, gravel, snow, etc. the Geolandars should be able to cope. I've always found it strange that the Geolandars are listed in the summer tyre section, even though they have the 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snow Flake) symbol and are therefore all-season tyres as well as AT (All-Terrain) tyres. I suspect it's because they are all-terrain tyres that they put them in the summer tyre section...perhaps that's the traditional place for AT tyres. 7. If you want electric handbrake and autohold then you will have to look outside of Skoda as if you step down to Kamiq or Scala you get manual handbrake. I'd probably look towards Toyota.
  8. the reality is with all the oxygen and other equipment (plus all those people foing silly things that people do) there it's probably statistically more likely a fire will start in the hospital then in the car park.........
  9. On my 2020 SEL, moving a rear vent towards the centre of the car closes the vent and moving it towards the outside of the car opens it. Movement up and down directs the airflow.
  10. autohold applies the foot brake so does not operate on the gearbox. For any parking maneuver I turn it off out of habit as it can be annoying when inching
  11. Is it not Rear parking sensors and Autobraking that is happening, like when you reverse towards, fences, bushes, walls etc? If turn off 'Autohold' & keep it in R not N is no good then i have no idea. . If it is Hill Hold Assist that is the issue that is different, but i doubt it is that when reversing downhill.
  12. Have moved to octavia area. Hopefully more info incoming.
  13. That sounds very logical but the option doesnt exist! Thanks for the suggestion.
  14. I agree it would be very person specific in a future sale. Personally, if I was looking at a car that had a load of receipts for stuff done by the owner then it would lead me to think it had been better looked after than one with dealer history. My car had dealer history when I bought it and the pollen filter had never been changed and was an absolute disgrace. My maintenance for all my recent cars has been done by a friend who is a VW tech. He does a great job and charged me very fairly. Going forward, I have learned that things like basic servicing is just easy so I’ll be doing it myself on both of our cars as we intend on keeping them both for a while anyway. Anything more difficult that I don’t feel confident doing or don’t have the tools for will go to my mate or to one of a couple of local very good VAG specialists.
  15. There's a further question . Does that sign apply to all EVs or just BEVs? I know what the majority of people will take it to mean but surely HEVs & PHEVs also have the same sort of "dangerous" battery in ? Should the signage be made clearer?
  16. Heya, just got my hands on a "new" 2022 presentation Fabia Style and have been enjoying it over the weekend. Only thing that's giving me grey hairs is that Android Auto keeps acting bit.. Weird. First of all the wireless connection doesent work (not even sure does it have Wlan). Wired connection works fine, except... When I start up the car it starts to connect and then when my navigator (waze) has already started, the infotainment system tells me that "connection failed". I just press that away and everything works perfect. Could this me a firmware issue or what? And can I even connect my android auto wirelessly?
  17. Thanks again Paulski. If you have some free logic/common sense going too, I’d happily take some off you!
  18. Been there and very nearly done that with the “virtual pedal” several times. One time in the garage with a lot of junk behind the car, I sidled past it must have had a foot slightly underneath, boot opened and knocked me over onto the pile of stuff. Still, that was better than putting a dent in it. And very nearly put a dent in it on my new one when I had just disconnected a glider trailer. It is also very easy to accidentally press the boot open button if you have the fob in your pocket. I use a small leather key fob holder to reduce the instances of that happening. If you need any scans from VCDS on my FL 2023 L&K with heated steering wheel, just ask. It does have predictive ACC so the setting for that will be different and I suppose the modules may be later versions.
  19. Find that plug/socket pair near the gearbox. Find damaged wire, repair it,
  20. Really only this left: The driveshaft bolts. You can just about see I did the old sharpie to mark it, on the right of the bolt, with the aim of getting the bolt pointing downwards. This was fine up to 45 degrees: But after that point the 1/2" breaker bar was starting to bend uncomfortably, so got out the 3/4" breaker and the trolley jack levers to act as extensions: It's uncomfortable: It could well be one or two degrees shy, but honestly, I felt something or more likely, a limb was going to be in danger if I explored further. So before I got too excited: Had to clear out the driveway and sweep it all up: This won't entirely be the car, but given the amount of mud and crud under there, there was quite a bit to clean up. It was at this point that I went back into the house to get the cars that I noticed: Not the beers, but the aero covers for the lower arms! Maintenance: £2299.88 Upgrades: £1332.92 Miscellaneous: £697.20
  21. If you can try recording a video of the symptoms and share it with the dealer, that way that have evidence to justify warranty work which might help.
  22. The ambient lighting trim bit is plastic riveted to the door card. U can see it in the pic below. This is my rear door card.
  23. All the factory fitted 16" alloy rims on the Yeti are 7J wide, ie. full specification 7Jx16 ET45 5/112 57.1
  24. The data in Google maps is the same regardless. Just displayed differently. Waze uses the same source as it's now owned by Google but has other stuff on top like user added obstructions and traffic. The speed info is also very good as it shows the limit as well as your speed. There should be an update coming that shows upcoming limit changes too. Useful for those 60 to 30 jumps in areas you're not used to.
  25. Which had not been mentioned even once in this discussion. They are all rubber bands compared to what used to be classed as normal tyres, I remember 185/60/13's as being really sporty and exotic when fitted to MK1 Escorts. I have 30+ year old Avon reinforced X plys on my tipping trailer and I have never seen such a tall profile, I think it is 100%, the way the size is expressed is really weird and the speed rating is something like 45km/h for use on sites. Original Ifor Williams fitment, the tallest modern tyres that would fit the rims would leave the hitch far too low and it would need refitting above the chassis rails.
  26. Not sure I like the swirly paint 😄
  27. I started running a little over 5 years ago and it has pretty much taken over my life. At 42 I now average between 45 and 50 miles a week usually running 6 days a week with a rest day on Saturday depending on my race schedule. I absolutely love it. I love the process of putting in the hard work and hopefully seeing the results come. I’ve also made so many great friends through running. It really has changed my life. My current PB’s are: 5k - 17:02 (achieved last Friday at the Mid Cheshire 5k) 5 Mile - 29:05 10k - 36:17 HM - 82:13 Marathon - 3:17 I’m currently working towards a sub 80 half marathon attempt at the Chester half in 2 weeks. Got a nice 14 mile long run with 5 miles at half marathon pace lined up for tomorrow morning.
  28. Thank you Carlston 👌 So 215/60R16 will fit which ever rims it is that I have (I don’t know what size they are but they are the original alloys that were factory fitted) 👌
  29. It's sorted. Was a piece of glass lodged in it from when my window broke last year. I did end up taking the casing off though but it's back together ok. Getting the seat base out and back in was the most awkward bit.
  30. It is nice when we get good service even though that seems to be rare these days! Thanks again for the pointer towards the alternative app. Long live the essentials app 😁🤣
  31. Thank you so much again everyone, your advice has been so helpful 🥰 I am going to go for Geolandars 215/60R16 on my current rims 👌🙏 🚗
  32. Hello and welcome JawZ Gaz
  33. There is a recent thread in the Fabia Mk4 section with recommendations. EDIT, Page 2. Maybe no need for this one to be moved to the Karoq Section or General Automotive Chat.
  34. Please can anyone tell me if this is as far as the opening goes to the fuse box. I used to have a MK1 Fabia and the OBD port was roughly in the same place, but it feels like this opening will break if I pull it any further. I am about to wire a dashcam but I can not get to the fuses properly. Thanks in advance for any help.
  35. https://drive.google.com/file/d/16S2ntsqY8tKp9u9zLxEGX4oaTf7Wp_pS/view?usp=drivesdk for those not based in the uk, it would be kind if you could share and publicise on your local Sķoda forums. The more people that get 1941 and 1969 the better cos Sķoda dealers on the whole don’t understand (or seem to care about) the problems we’ve all had living with their faulty cars. Once on 1941 and having had the SOS module replaced they are great cars, I’d go so far as to say it’s the most comfortable and satisfying car I’ve ever driven Happy updating 😃
  36. Hello team, I wonder do we have any update for bolero screen and where I can find the update files? I added my current version in attachment maybe new updates solves my problem. For AC when I push the MENU button its wait like 5-6 seconds. And do we have option for wireless carplay? Thanks for advices.
  37. I did reply to Skoda and suggested they read this thread, I commented that they could come up with a solution but probably simply don't want to.
  38. Read as we aren't going to do anything about it 😏.
  39. Mirror "synchronous adjustment" can disabled or enabled in the Mirror settings in the Car Setup menu. This will stop both mirrors moving together when you move the right hand one. Then you can adjust each one separately by moving the switch to L or R. I expect the Seat Leon would have similar menus depending on the year model. This can be permenantly disabled using VCDS diagnostic software tool. I've not done it with my own VCDS but I expect it would remove the option from the Infotainment menus.
  40. All vehicles are electric. Full motive, partial motive or have electrical systems, even wiesel cars, some of which are hybrid now. If obeyed properly they should be quite few cars in the car park and Euro 7 looks like will kill neatly all cars that are not atleast hybrid.
