  1. 3rd episode on tonight. @8pm. The first 2 were brilliant IMO. Tonight a Ford Escort RS1600i. What as skilled team they are. 30 workers.
  2. I've just got off the phone with the service manager, the recall is in relation to the park position of the gearbox possibly not engaging properly when selected.

I’ve railed endlessly about my M4 problems. The disastrous First Edition which I returned, Deaf and blind Skoda UK, the better but still flawed 2021 model that replaced it. Emissions sensors problems, random error messages which come and go, the intermittent gear selector lever error message which crops up regularly now. The nanny state compulsory ‘driver aids’, dangerous distraction of a touch screen. I’ve sold it and rolled back to a Mk 3. Best wishes and good luck to all Mk 4 owners.
  4. Hi! I just picked up a 2017 superb 206tsi business grey wagon. What a car! Our other car is a 7.5 golf R, wanting a bigger comfy car to compliment it, the superb with the same running gear was the obvious choice! I am from the central coast in NSW Australia. In the process of picking new rims so hopefully I can track down a wheel thread or two for some inspo! Will be looking to do some minor modifications for now and hopefully a stage 1 tune down the track.
  5. There is the inbetween option. You can sell with Motorway, it is you selling privately but to dealers only. Sold my Dad's car through that and it went well. Got about £2000 more than a local dealer was offering to buy it. Will help that your car is main dealer ready. I sold my Dad's to a Honda main dealer. Dealers will buy anything that they think they can make a profit on. Bear in Mind Motorway will lure you in with a high ball estimate then knock it down with every bump and scratch but not to the silly extent that WBAC do. Plus it is still an auction and you could get more. I think they knocked £500 off the estimate for me (as said still much more than local Honda dealers), and it sold for that estimate. Dealer sent a guy up to collect the car no argument, money in my Dad's account within the hour. I have heard of sharp practice but you can say no and apparently motorway will kick them out the system if they abuse it. We'll be selling the countryman when the ID3 arrives and I will use Motorway again.

Hi all - just swapped my Octavia vRS TDI for a 2025 85x Sportline and I just thought I'd share a few thoughts after a couple of weeks as a new owner… Suspension - I thought the Octavia was a hard ride but I'm surprised how hard the Enyaq is, especially from the rear when travelling over poor road surfaces. I guess this is because of the weight of the battery running down the length of the car? Lane assist button on RHS of steering wheel - does this actually do anything as every time I press it I get the message 'Please use main switch' - I am aware it can be turned off via the infotainment screen but is there something I need to do in order to make this switch work? Horn - Sounds extremely petty but today I used the horn for the first time and despite this car being the most technologically advanced vehicle I have ever driven, the horn has been downgraded to a single tone so it sounds like my first ever car which was a 1983 Golf Mk I - Is this standard now across all Enyaqs? Every car I have owned since 1993 has been dual tone so why would Skoda change this on their flagship model? Infotainment Screen - Last week I got the dreaded scrolling screen of death which after speaking with my dealer, appears to be a common issue but also an issue that currently cannot be fixed, or that what I have read on other forums. Thankfully it cleared after the car had sat idle for an hour or so but its booked in at my local dealer for a check up in a couple weeks time. Despite these niggles, so far I'm pretty impressed, range is between 3.5 - 4 miles per kWh and my fuel bill is roughly £5 per week as opposed to £30 per week in the vRS. Any feedback regarding my points above would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance

Did you miss me? Now on my third Octy Estate, brief (actually 6.5 years) flirtation with a Ford Focus before taking delivery of a new Octavia SE L DSG Estate. Why did I try Ford again? So far, loving the Octy. Graphite Grey, memory seats, light and view package. I'm home!
  8. F@@@ing thing is driving me nuts. Activated when passing a cyclist (being a cyclist myself I was giving him plenty of space), when parking / pulling into a tight space I’ve worked out you can turn it off but have to do this every time you drive; I thought you could make it less sensitive but if so I can’t work it out. Any ideas? Thanks
  9. It was on the other side of the road so just a flash but very distinctive. Today TVR Griffith

Have you reset the tyres pressures? Did they come over inflated. Best check the Transport Blocks have been removed.

Bosch BSC1987435002 M5002 Passenger Compartment will fit. Thanks. AG Falco
  12. I cant really answer theese questions, but the official Skoda dealerships here in Norway has all said the same thing. "there's no service interval for your gearbox, the oil is ment to last the lifetime of the car". They also dont want to change it, but i am competent to change the oil myself, I just cant pinpoint the oil itself as the culprit, and therefore haven't bothered. Maybe i should just change it soner rather than later.
  13. Don't know about minicabs but London Taxis have auto-locked for decades. Must be knocking 30 years since I last used one but they auto-locked even then.
  14. Thanks rbz5416. Realised I turned the reduction down to zero instead of UP to maximum ( reduction). Thanks again!

I know. My son ended up taking the old filter into our local motorfactors to get the right one. The original one he got was square but the one fitted is a different shape. Alasdair

https://www.mann-filter.com/uk-en/catalogue.html As long as you know what engine is fitted you will get the correct answer. Quality filters, too.

My sons fabia has a choice of two different ones. Best option is to remove yours and match up with whats available. There may even be a part number on the old one for cross ref. Alasdair
  18. Have a look at GT radial FE2. Have summer on my Octavia and there excellent. (second set) plus also on my old Seat. Son has all season on his fabia and they are excellent as well. Good in the wet and loads of grip. They are around £75-00 per tyre fitted and if you order online my tyre service gives you discount. £15 off two and £40 of four. Alasdair
  19. Hi Ootohere, no letter or email received as it's not a mandatory/safety recall. My car is booked in for an air con service and the service manager told me there was a recall to carry out on the gearbox. I'll try and get hold of the service manager or have a look on ErWin over the weekend to see if there's a TPI with more information about it. Just wanted to see whether anyone else had had this recall carried out. Cheers
  20. Some petrols do have an EGR valve (my previous Toyota Aygo for example) but others have a form of EGR created by valve overlap timing.

Mine came with 3 keys too. It's an MY17. I believe it's KESSY related.
  22. Our old Saab 9-5 Estate (The Superb is it's spiritual successor) could run on 17 to 15 and I dropped it from 16 to 15 and never had any cornering problems. As Colin Chapman advocated, you need the tyres in contact with the road, for this you need compliance. Plus, despite containing more rubber, higher section tyres tend to be cheaper. That said, I have no complaints about the Superb's ride on 17s.
  23. There is a button for locking and unlocking the doors. You should find it just above the heater controls. Press and hold for several seconds to disable. Press again for several second to re-enable. Its like that for virtually all modern cars.
  24. 215/55/17 thank goodness. I'd have been happy if the car had come on 16" rims, sidewall is a good thing, especially on UK roads at the moment.
  25. Afternoon! :p thank you, yes I have had a look but usually there is a dedicated aftermarket wheel thread but i can't find one, like the superb photo thread but just for wheels. Anyway got a bit of inspo already! Will continue the search, thank you!
  26. Morning! Welcome along to the forum. There’s an entire section dedicated to wheels and tyres, plus all the project threads so you should be able to find plenty inspiration 👍🏻
  27. ...........usually not when we talk about big round things 😁
  28. Thanks - will read up. Also have a Fabia TSI Estate that is aproaching 5 years old.
  29. We've had our Elroq since 28th March (great timing to avoid the expensive car RFL supplement) We've done about 4000 miles around the South West of Scotland and I think we've seen three, although I think one we've seen twice as it's local. The local one is Race Blue and the other one we saw was Timiano Green. I fancied Timiano when we ordered ours but daren't risk it as I hadn't seen it, so went for Velvet Red instead. Timiano's quite nice when you see it in the flesh. Our's went in to the dealers this week to have the towbar fitted. Not sure why I didn't order it with the car. Must have been a senior moment. The towbar is exactly the same as the factory fitted option, except that its about £400 more expensive. The good news is that, after 4000 miles, I still can't find anything bad about it.
  30. Why not just get the sensor tested and/or repaired?
  31. The new ABS speed sensor came with the postie this morning, once the rain stopped I got it fitted. This is a fiddly rather than difficult job, the sensor is secured with a single screw (T30 head) which is a bit difficult to get to. The plastic sensor was really hard to get out - I suppose 12 years of weathering had made its mark, but it did come out in the end with a bit of levering via a large screwdriver. The new part was even more fiddly to fit - I resorted to carefully cleaning the hole with an artist’s paintbrush, then using some silicone spray to lubricate - eventually it fitted into the right place, but this took a longer than the guy in the YouTube video. I’ve just started the motorcar and been for a short spin round the block. There are no warning lights, which is good, but then the warnings had cleared themselves previously and the fault was intermittent, so I may not know whether I’ve fixed the problem or not for some while yet. Fingers crossed!
  32. Probably you have some issues with your infotainment unit - what is it?
  33. Actually......... Forget that comment. I've just tried it for a second time and it seems to have reset and is now working fine. Thanks for your help. 😃
  34. Having fitted a full set of Heko wind deflectors to my Kodiaq I wanted to circle back on this topic with some feedback. Spoiler alert: I didn't get on with them. Installation was very straight forward. Each deflector came with a decent amount of quality double-sided tape ready applied as well as two metallic clips. I tried to get by without using the clips (which look a bit Mickey-mouse, more on that later) but no amount of sticky tape would hold the deflectors in their channels, despite liberal cleaning prior to installation and waiting 24 hours with the windows closed on a warm day afterwards. I think the problem is that my Kodiaq's window channels aren't simply an inverted 'U' as per the instructions; the outer part of the top section is not very deep and offers little purchase for the adhesive. I tried using more double sided 3M tape for the entire length of one deflector, and also some very thin 3M foam pads on another, but I just couldn't get them to stay put with the windows open. In the end I resorted to using the metal clips. They were easy to install and improved stability of the deflectors enormously, but I had to find the best placement for them through trial and error where the front deflectors were concerned. Each removal and re-fitment resulted in minor but permanent damage to the inner window seal thanks to a sharp little spike that's presumably there to stop the clip sliding out once the window is opened. This seems like a poorly engineered solution and I did wonder if the spike isn't supposed to be facing outwards, i.e. into the plastic of the clip rather than the rubber seal, but Heko's installation video was pretty clear. Anyway, they were in now, but the knowledge of such bodgery didn't sit well with me. Would that spike gradually slice the seal to bits? Or how about contact between a partially dislodged metal clip and the closing window on a frosty day, when the glass is super brittle? I'd already experienced water ingress at the clip points when hosing down snow foam - was that going to get worse too? Hmm. Once fitted I must admit they do look the part, complementing the other smoked plastics very nicely. The leading edge of the front deflectors do make the A pillar seem substantially thicker and the nearside deflector covers maybe 15% of the wing mirror from a driver's perspective, but they do keep the rain out well with the windows open a crack, at least at standstill. When on the move in moderate rain you get an area of low pressure behind the leading edge of the front deflectors, which actually pulls more water into the vehicle at speed than you get without deflectors fitted. Closing the window at this point causes the water to bead exactly in front of the mirror, which was a bit annoying too after a while. But by far the biggest distractor for me was the wind noise. We drove from Lancaster to Southampton on a rainy afternoon, and I'm sure the cabin felt substantially louder than before, regardless of whether the windows were open or closed. Was I imagining that? At the start of the return journey I removed front and rear wind deflectors from one side only in order to compare, and the difference was so stark that halfway through the trip I stopped at Norton Canes in order to remove the other side too. In doing so I noticed that the lower edges of the wind deflectors is filed into a very sharp edge, so that a closing window doesn't meet a square face on the way up, and that sharp edge had started to bite into the outer vertical seal too. Enough. In summary I think that I'd be happy to fit the Heko wind deflectors only without the metal clips and only if I didn't anticipate any significant motorway driving. But that's not realistic for me, so the rears are going to stay in my boot next to the spare wheel, ready for quick fitment if I ever do get around to spending a night in the Kodiaq Hilton.
  35. Hi, if I understand correctly, you updated the version on 1798 for car from 2019. And after went back to 742 for some reason. Can you please tell me why. In another post you wrote that the max version is 742. I would like ask you, is possible to update higher version than 742? For example 1760 or 1800? Thanks
  36. Cześć, poniżej link do strony z opisem możliwych FW U Ciebie powinno pójść do wersji 742. https://www.drive2.ru/l/650934799095051499/
  37. Not much of a RECALL if the car has to be getting serviced at Skoda Dealerships. No notifying keepers. More of a SKODA SECRET SERVICE SERVICE CAMPAIGN. Need to know basis and those that own or are keepers might never know if it was not for the Social Media / Forums. Par for the course with VW group.
