  1. Following a complaint to the company that leased me the car, I was offered to reject it, or take a derisory compensation payment. (Less than 6 months of the extra money it is currently costing me) I declined both offers. This has now been passed onto the Financial Ombudsman for them to make a ruling.
  2. Oh my, that link transported me into wonderland. That is so useful. I found out that it was a M10x40 hexagon head bolt (https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/WHT003853/hexagon-head-bolt-combi). Thanks so much for the help Breezy-Pete 😁 And thanks for the tip Paws4Thot, but I think I will replace them, to avoid getting dirt into my brakes as much as possible 😊
  3. Spammer, now reported.
  4. Sounds like you’s need to align your headlights better
  5. Now the the Octavia 3 is starting to come through in larger numbers it's about time we kick off a register: 1) Stokey, 1.4 TSI Elegance HB, race blue, ivory full leather interior
  6. Hello there. Freshly downloaded. Take a piece if you need ;) https://1drv.ms/f/c/d868f7f8e8ece8e8/Eh7N58_7gyZCtogSIt8kgisB4ZszuIGLrZTSSsdabNOtZw?e=5mWfuG
  7. After 7.5 years of Kodiaq ownership (a 2018 1.4TSI Edition, and a 2021 2.0TSI vRS) - preceded by 3 years of an Octavia - I'm off to pastures new. Decided that the Mk2 is fugly (in my opinion!), and judging by the forum, also full of issues. Considered the Elroq, but in the end we picked up a new Renault Scenic on Monday, and so far we're extremely impressed by it (Apple Maps on the dashboard screen as well as the big infotainment one is a big win for me!). It's baby brother (a Renault 5) will hopefully be joining it at the end of the month 😁. Anyhoos - I probably need to go find a Renault forum now, so tatty byes and take care! 👋
  8. Lovely Sky and Moon tonight (and not a bad sunset too 👍)......................
  9. There were a couple of earlyish issues - something had been sprayed on flywheels that was causing clutches to slip when the cars were in transit mode (for delivery) and damaging them. Also also some suspected issues with the electronic parking brake releasing too slowly so the clutch was workinga against it. Other than that, there's always the odd failure. We had a new clutch in a Polo when it went in for first service and I mentioned the pedal was very stiff.

Ask your mechanic to reroute the coolant hoses to bypass the EGR cooler temporarily to rule that in or out.
  11. Try eBay UKSkoda Fabia 2000 to 2007 (W to 07 Reg) Haynes Manual Petr...This Haynes manual is the perfect companion for Skoda Fabia owners who want to keep their vehicle running smoothly. With detailed information on petrol and diesel engines, as well as advice on how...
  12. Now I know about it, I’ll give the two sensors a good spray with some WD40 once or twice per year. 😎
  13. Thanks its been back in today and decision taken to install a new clutch so fingers crossed that cures it 🤞The biting point feels better since it's had a new slave but is still slipping so they think that the faulty slave over time may have damaged the clutch.
  14. Tire pressure was triple checked, cold 2.5 bars. By the way 2.5 is the lowest recommended pressure. Last few days temperature swings a lot, from 11 to 28°C, morning -afternoon, so I'll rather wait for few days. As I said, after shock adjustement, Primacy 4 was pleasantly softer, but still had precise steering. It's realy a pity Pirelli doesn't have non XL version, it would fit perfectly. As soon as I have some "real" trip I'll try to convey my opinion as accurate as possible.
  15. Good idea, Used to have similar probs with Volvo 940. Started checking with dial and solved problem by rotating discs until they ran true. It doesnt take much to throw a disc out. Check the calipers are sliding properly as well and as said pistons are moving freely and sliders arent seizing. On my old volvo a sticky rear caliper caused major vibrations felt through whole car. 16. No idea except that dust shields are not compulsory, so you can remove them and nor replace.
  17. I recall reading a post from an owner with a low mileage 1.0 with a clutch issue. Search this forum because I think it was eventually proven to be a faulty clutch.
  18. See! 😩😳🤣 I noticed it starting about 7 years ago and every time the motorway speeds get to it, more top coat flakes off. It may be down to living in the SE (hot) and not washing it enough. I don't know but whenever I see another orange Fab, I check their paint. Similar story.
  19. The alert was only for the driver seat (my seat). And there were anyway no objects on the other seats.
  20. Hello all, i have the 2025 octavia FL selection (with the 10 inch ), for the past few weeks, i have problem with the GPS accuracy while using Android auto.. when using Maps or Waze, it shows that i am not in the road that i am in, thus, if i drive on highway it shows i am in the city.. i tired using the Maps or Waze without connecting to the Android auto, and it worked perfectly. i tried to factory reset the infotainment but it didn't work.. i could not find anywhere a statement that the android auto is using Car's GPS antenna and not the phone.. i hope someone will be able to help me or give me any clue how to solve it.. p.s, i get the internet connection error all the time, but i don't think there is internet connection for Skoda in Israel.. thanks in advance..
  21. I've been in contact with Skoda via email. They now know about the problem, and I also gave them the link to this forum. So if you have anything to add hopefully they will see it here.
  22. Painted 16 years ago and at least not a Red one with that pigment, but Skoda Gigaro Red seems fine. So are you capable of cutting back the lacquer / top coat and then if OK re-lacquering. Maybe try finding a bonnet, maybe better than yours, but if it is a 2010 might it not be just as yours is now next year. Best go see a local Body shop / car painter maybe of the self employed mot National Repairers and get an opinion and a price to sand back and respray. I suspect they will not be interested. I am an Ex car sprayer..

@Kalkveien Wiring information suggests that there are 3 separately fused power feeds to your ABS module. Cabin fuse 19 (5 Amp, ignition switched) and engine bay fuses 4 (20 Amp) and 25 (40 Amp), both permanent 12V. Check all three fuses.
  24. If your cup holder is in the console between the seats, that may well not allow the GPS antenna a clear enough view of the sky.

    No. I wish..... 😃
  26. Thanks for your reply. I took the vehicle to the dealer yesterday and they said it was "normal" but had no idea why it happens. Your comment confirms their statement. Thanks again.
  27. I have similar marks on my seats. If I press on both sides of the seam to flatten the cloth the marks disappear. Seems to me that it’s the way the flecks in the fabric pattern catch the light.
  28. While playing with the 2 keys in & out - did you also check on the infotainment to see what User does the car "Welcome" when you open it? Is it the correct identification key-user? It might sound quite obvious, but while doing the above test with the 2 keys - did you make sure that there's only one key in the "detection area" of the car?
  29. yes, my phone has clear view, as i put it in the cup holder. also, the wireless charge pad is turned off. and no, my car dont have heated windscreen, only the rear one has.
  30. Connect OBDeleven to the vehicle. Control unit 03>Basic settings>Reset tire pressure monitoring indicator warnings
  31. The pulling after the trip to Mr Tyres might be them; or it might be your existing problem getting worse. Servos aren't difficult to replace but best done by a proper mechanic. But based on the limited information posted I'd start with the basics. Sticky caliper? Worn pads? Brake fluid last changed? Not difficult to check. Plenty of used servos out there but obviously better if new. The Fabia estate is cramped in the back seat and not as nice as the Rapid IMHO.
  32. If you want to remain legal then leds no go, I manually adjusted my headlights with the screw and much better, I’ve also got osram nbl laser, there’s a newer version now which is brighter yet Also make sure your headlights are super clean and inside windscreen
  33. Soo, i can say confidently that no xenon replacement bulb will fix how dim these feel. I tried all the expensive xenons already. It must be a skoda thing as the old fabia i drove to the stealers to trade in also had tragic halogen bulb range even with the 200% philips bulbs. Try out some leds. They're around £35-50 for a pair on amazon now from some brands that don't sound like a keyboard thrown down the stairs. The passenger side will be a bit tricky to pull out but is possible without taking anything off. Come back with some photos for comparison please!
  34. Does your cellphone have a clear view of the sky when you are using it to navigate? Does your vehicle have a heated windscreen?
  35. wanted to bump this post, as i have still have lots of problems using the android auto and navigation every time my phone connected (either with cable or wireless) i have GPS problems using Waze or Google maps. when my phone is not connected, works perfect (same rout) tried disabling location for the android auto app, didn't help.. does anyone else had such problem? fyi, i have Galaxy S25 Ultra.
  36. I got an answer from the dealer: F8H / LF8H.
  37. When needed if needed. I have a shed full of various take off all season tyres and new ones but they are all in lower profile 17 or 18". This year not blowing money if i do not need to. Last winter i did less than 1,000 miles on any roads with snow and there was not very wintry weather. Usually i have a 4x4 but not this winter.

I assume it is a photo of it parked on your drive?
  39. The black bolted-on plastic cover that you mention is hiding the 12V battery that you want to disconnect. Simply unbolt the plastic cover, and you'll have the access to the 12V battery connectors. FYI: what you consider to be "the high voltage battery" is in fact the fuel tank. The HV battery is under the floor under the rear seats - see screenshot of the Octavia PHEV Rescue Sheet and the legend therein...
  40. The e-brake is active but just on the rear brakes, in P the front wheels are locked, maybe the Autohold gets activated so that then the front brakes are also acting on the disc. Just thinking aloud.
  41. Almost certain that the cam sensor fault will be caused by the cam timing going out of sync - original sensor was probably not faulty. I'd suggest the priority would be to get a mechanic do a visual check of the valve timing.
  42. Hey, quick update. after checking with the Leasing company, they didn't find any problem with the car's infotainment, or GPS antenna within the car. after farther investigation, found out it was the Android auto corrupted version in my phone. this topic can be closed :)
  43. GPS "accuracy" is dependant on how many satellites the unit can detect.
  44. Hi, I will take the car to the shop in two weeks and they will do all the setups and tuning. I just can't get it right. I got the sound and it is ok, but far away where it supposed to be. I'm pretty sure I have even the the basic settings wrong. But If they can not get it work, then I must continue this fight by myself and all help appreciated. Routing the battery cable was easyer than I thought, was like a 30min job. My car is LHD and behind the car battery above the brake pedal there is a big hole in the wall (just look behind the insulation). I took the ground from the seat frame and the dsp is behind the glove box. -tommi
  45. I use WD40 or even vegetable oil. You need something that will take the sticky away. Then finish off with fairy liquid and water to remove what's left.
