No, more like £150-£200 plus 5 minutes coding the battery management system.
  2. People report many things, but dealers can and do supply the tow bar, tow bar electrics as would be factory fitted. They fit it and code the car so the various systems know. They won’t fit a tow bar to a vehicle that isn’t certified for one, but that’s different.
  3. I really feel for you. At my ( ever advancing ) age, I still look forward to a new car the way I used to look forward to Christmas as a kid. It must be seriously disappointing, but I have to say it sounds like your dealer has behaved very well under the circumstances. But……… you must forgive me , there’s a part of me can’t help feeling that you may be partly responsible. The anthropological projection you threw at your car could have contributed to the issue. She this, she that .. Rosie ? Had your new Skoda Superb been, like mine, a mere machine, it could probably have been fixed by a mechanic/software engineer. But you had to assign a sex to it, and name it ( her? ) and what happened ? She ( 😳 ) got a headache. And as anyone that has been around the block more than once can tell you……. When they get a headache, paracetamol won’t cut it, there’s nothing to be done other than to send it back and try another one. I agree with your assessment of the alternatives, I went through the same process and couldn’t find anything within £15k either. The minor glitch I am experiencing with the remote park assist function on the app , really does feel minor when I read of your experience. I can only wish you a faultless delivery second time around 🤞. Please keep us posted.
  4. Try here : - https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-parts/fabia-3/window.html Thanks. AG Falco
  5. Message me with your VIN and I will check for you. I think you're right to be concerned though, the third character in the part number being a 1 rather than a 2 makes me suspect LHD.

i just created my account, i have a mk2 fabia esate and im looking at a crashed mk3 fabia esate.
  7. Collected her from the garage today. New shock, spring and top mount. One locking wheel bolt replaced for standard. And I’m now £600 lighter. Got three more standard bolts and ordered a new locking bolt key based on eyeballing the bolt and hopefully picking a match! I shall remove the other lockers and throw them in the bin! Full service including DSG next week so that will be pleasant on the wallet!
  8. New Sportline arrived today. 😎 Very happy to report that the brakes are absolutely fine. As is the rest of the car. It’s lovely in fact! 👍
  9. Another misty one first thing. The Heron was nest building whilst the Ducks were half asleep 💤
  10. I’m not sure. I haven’t used vcds. I think it depends more on the dataset than the version of the module. Mine is J and works. @tombee is L and it works.

adding to the thread with thoughts... I've had 3 VRS' since the MK4 redesign, and now in a 4.5 (Space Violet, 75 plate)...they've all been petrol, and all hatchbacks. The difference in the car between 2020 and now, is massive, but the real jump was once they got the problems out of the way..... 21 plate Meteor Grey one was fine, but the screen and general random errors never went away...never quite broke down, but was a bit sketchy at times if the battery had been left for a week without driving. Random things wouldn't work. 23 plate Race Blue was way better in the software and errors, and actually a pretty nice place to be. Totally rock solid, had 2yrs without any incidents at all (apart from the USB in the rearview mirror housing that twice disappeared into the housing!). 75 plate Space Violet, much better in the screen speed and general use, a touch quieter and nicer to be in, looks better, and feels a little sharper to drive The auto cruise control and 'assisted steering' is much better too, much better than even the 23 plate. So there are marginal, but definite gains I didn't need to move out of my 23plate at all, but the PCP numbers were in my favour, and I fancied the purple whilst it was available..glad I jumped when I did

Try https://www.tayna.co.uk/ There pretty reasonable price wise and quick delivery. You would need to get battery coded though but may be cheaper. Alasdair

My Skoda Octavia L&K 2017 has been looking after me for the past 3 years with good reliability, MPG and room to tinker. Joined because I'm finally getting round to coding out that Start/Stop memory nuisance 🤞
  14. Hi Pete, I'll check as soon as possible. Thanks.
  15. Dynamic front indicators only work on pre face lift SIII with a 55 controller.
  16. Jack got it, I was hoping to convert a CBZB EA111 (which is 8v SOHC) to 16v DOHC, potentially with a CJZD EA211 head. This would be along with a host of other modification ideas (Bigger turbo, cams, ect). I really like the idea of a tiny displacement car making way more power than it aught to. I read something about a built polo with a 1.2 tsi making a ton of power and want to do something similar to my spaceback.

No idea about your car or your 3 pin lead. (I do not call it a charger as the AC charger is in the car.) So if the lead is set at 7 or 10 amps i get 1.6-2.1 kWh and at 16 amps near 2.3 kWh. I set at 10 amps though if plugging in at home.

Been lurking on here a while but never posted. Just picked up my new car - a 2019 sportline 280. Very happy. Also lease an Elroq and previously owned a Mk1 Octy rS wagon with a stage 1 tune.

SOC was 38%, but the 7amp rate remains the same at all battery levels which makes me wonder if this has been deliberately set low for safety.
  20. I will be having a chat with the Skoda service manager tomorrow and report back what he says .
  21. Skoda absolutely allow dealers to retrofit tow bars and “code” the car to tell it there is now a tow bar. The important part is skoda supplied, which mean the kit has all the parts.
  22. Have you tried this place? They seem to deal with a fair few sunroof issues and might be able to help. MLS Garages & Recoveries https://www.facebook.com/share/1EZ4uJa49i/
  23. Is it the panoramic sunroof? I believe it's the same fit on all B6 platforms (Superb/Passat). Mine is currently not working - just ‘happened’ out of the blue but it's closed and water-tight. I think it's the interior switch or motor that has packed up. I’ve looked at places to source bits but will look properly when I can afford to have the car off the road for a bit in the summer. A few places/references here that I found might be of help? I’ve not used them though. Good luck with it: https://milautoparts.es/en/auto--carrocera--ventanas--techo-panormico/mod--vw--passat--passat-b6/?attempt=1 https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/europe/passat-cc-b6-typ-3c-parts-catalog/panorama-sunroof/ https://motoallegro.net/en/z-cat/superb--panoramnaya-krysha/?attempt=1 https://autobutik.com.ua/en/avt--kuzov--stiklo--panoramnij-dah/mod--skoda--superb/?srsltid=AfmBOoqaVtxqeuppGs_RCUx7b5QTr-02p-A5sHdsbyWyyctfMGF8hM0y&attempt=1

  25. They have a purpose and that is to enable people to drive and claim they own a New car that they cannot afford to buy. They also enable people who want a new car every few months to do so without losing a fortune in Depreciation so it is cheaper than buying them themselves. So both arguments are valid
  26. Added some vinyl stripes on the side and fitted front splitter
  27. Thanks for you help with this, I've collected my 2025 Sportline today 😄 (Rubbish photo as its raining!)
  28. Don't think so. The removal of the ECO levy had reduced the cost of overnight charging of EVs by a quarter, third or half depending on ones tariff. The projected rise in energy cost is less than 20% and is a combination of electricity and gas. Electricity will be so cheap for us these dual rate EV tariffs dor the night time rate i can see us sensibly heating our water electrically rather than by gas as it will be significantly cheaper to do. Still waiting for Octopus to confirm my Q2 energy rates but Night time looks lije it will be very cheap at around 5.5 p per kwh which is cheaper than my gas unit charge and if both want up by 20% as Cornwall Insights first guess is then the Night Electricity will still be much cheaper than it is now due to the removal of the Eco levy and I will use even more electricity than gas particularly in tge midnight to 0530 slot as I will be heating water, heating the house as well as charging the batteries etc. I think wr may have to be ready for LNG and diesel and petrol to be twice or 3 times the price it was but that does not mean by a long shot that translates in to the same proportion of costs to homes and motorists. Homes would be a couple of pence more on the unit energy costs and diesel and petrol up by a third and not 3 times as tax is still the biggest chuck of final prices.
