  1. Mrs Gaz walked up to the Chattri, just North of Brighton this afternoon: Gaz
  2. Finished off the front grill today. Bumper off job. Once again a big thanks to @JR RS for a brilliant how to guide. I was naive and thought because I don’t have front parking sensors that there wasn’t a plug to undo. Turns out the ambient air temperature is mounted on the front bumper so that has to be unplugged. There are some who report changing the front grill without taking the bumper off. I have no idea how it could possibly be achieved as even with the bumper off I had a few sweary moments trying to get clips undone! Really like the look now it’s all done! The badge is not quite the right white. I think it’s more candy white. But I begrudge paying £100 from kopacek for two colour matched badges. I may get another couple of cheap Ali ones and try painting them myself with touch up paint. Just the side view left to dechrome with wrap around the windows and the roof rails to install but SWMBO wants new taps fitted in the bathroom so those might have to wait a while!
  3. First, have you had the car battery tested?
  4. It’s from somewhere off the internet, I can’t find it now sorry. It’s 3mm thick.
  5. I can look up some service history. Just PM me with the Reg/ VIN. PM sent. Thanks. AG Falco

Well since the last post, the turbo back exhaust is done. And new calipers acquired.
  7. On cold start, especially in colder weather, is not a bad thing to allow proper oil circulation before setting off, which can take a few seconds, i usually let it idle for 15/20 sec in warmer weather - it is not a big deal, the time to fit the belt, set up the infotainment, and such. On very cold say a minute or two.... Important thing is to be gentle and progressive in stepping on the skinny pedal, unless you are in a hurry, no sense to gun a cold forced induction engine. And as travs mentioned, respect cool-down times. What Berisford's neighbour does is bad from mechanical perspective, and not only. Now your 280 has also GPF, which means sometimes the engine management system will increase RPMs in order to heat, pre-heat, or run whatever cycle it runs with the GPF. While can be alarming at first, it is normal .... If I have to manouver and it goes on fast idle, I wait until RPMs drop before turning off, something worries me about cutting off who knows what process that might set off a fault ....
  8. Unmistakable top cover of the V6 and V8 Mercs of the era. You got a very nice toy, likely the last "user-friendly" human-level sports MB. And with possibly their best designed V8, in terms of usability and longevity. Nothing before or after is equally rewarding ... there are fierce arguments on the subject, but the M113 reigns overall... I got mates with such thing in whatever you can think of: got one that had a 400CDI G-klasse and went crazy in repair costs, and fitted a M113 500 ... another pur the same engine in a 124CE (a beast, very challenging to drive), got another who has your same car but manual, using the 6spd from a CLK240 (this one much more pleasurable to drive), another with a W140 with the same engine, another one with a ... Kia Sportage running on portal axles 😄 you name it! Great thing, if you need any assistance do not hesitate to ask, half of the cars mentioned above have been rebuilt from the ground up and there is lots of experience on the subject 😉
  9. Insist they take it for a drive with you in the passenger seat and then challenge them to bring it to a stop smoothly. Show them this actual thread. It’s extremely dismissive to make glib comments like internet forums are just full of angry people wanting to complain. That’s *******s quite frankly.
  10. I also had to do a primary user reset this weekend after I was mysteriously evicted - and may I say what a palaver it is too..........
  11. Thank you for contacting Škoda UK regarding your vehicle service interval. I sincerely apologise for the delay in my response. I have referred your service interval and timing belt enquiry to our internal Technical Support Team, who has advised that your Škoda Karoq timing belt does not have an interval as the vehicle is fitted with a life time component. In regards to the service interval of your Škoda Karoq, your vehicle is on a flexible schedule, which means that your Škoda Karoq dashboard will alert you when a service is due. I hope this information proves useful. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on the details below. You may receive a survey about the service that I have provided. I would be grateful if you have the time to complete this, as it will help me to provide the best customer experience possible. 12. Many thanks. I intend to keep the car for as long as possible. Despite Skoda claiming that the timing belt is a lifetime timing belt, this is misleading as inevitably, the rubber will perish. So time to change it.

    indeed, 2022 petrol automatic. thanks
  14. The water pump is not required to be changed at the time of the Cam belt. As of 2023 Skoda / VW stopped showing or advising, recommending or scheduling the Cam Belt replacement at 5 years / 50,000 miles. They made it an After many miles or years thing. So many many threads on the subject in the near 3 years since things changed. Should you change it is totally up to you since 8 years old. But first you maybe want to check how much that is going to cost you...
  15. The bargain V8.
  16. Spot on, well done UTR. It’s a 2004 A209 CLK500. It was gifted to me by our son who’s gone fully EV. This is a long term project, albeit I’ve already spent > £3k fixing MOT failure bits and others that annoyed me - meant the dash out for two of those! Back on topic now….!
  17. Do also consider the All in plan, you extend the warranty, get two services, two MOTs and breakdown cover.
  18. I'm not sure that there is an obvious fuse for the washer motor, it's fed directly by two pins of the BCM (7 & 8 of the 46-way connector).
  19. Found the link to youtube that shows how to set cables. Its a 5mm not 8mm pin/drill Alasdair
  20. Depending on his settings he would get the notification of being quoted in the post but putting the @ directly in front of AGFalco is the most(?) certain way.
  21. Great, sorted it now. I wasn't releasing the button so was it timing out before the menu appeared. Many thanks @QuinFin .
  22. I got just the new software version 1989. Curious what's it is gonna bring. Already satisfied with 1985 but i love gadgets and up to date materials. One thing from the beginning with software 1969 til now mine park to pay or pay to park still not working. But i am not using that anyway to prices of parking are ridiculous. So i hope this one is even better then 1985 we will see.
  23. Any reason why you're not just coming out of the USB-C on the centre roof console?
  24. I've had the exact same problem in very similar situations. I live in a city with chaotic traffic (Florence), which certainly wasn't even remotely conceived in the minds of whoever designed the system. With the old Octavia III, I never had a problem reversing with the classic sensors; when needed, it braked just in time. But with the Superb, it was stressful. My three-year-old daughter was in the car, and she was terrified by a seemingly unprovoked braking. Not to mention the new brakes, which I don't think appreciate these violent brakings during the break-in process. For now, I deactivate the collision sensor as soon as I get in the car. It's simply dangerous. It seems absurd to me that I can't control such an immature option. And it ****es me off because the car is wonderful if it weren't for this bull****.
  25. It's finally there! 28th october ordered, 27th december delivered! So far a superb car!
