  3. I tend to take photos with either a Minolta Dimage F100 or an S304, depending on the situation. However, my Mum's Kodak EasyShare I found in a drawer. It's not that bad, it kept overexposing slightly in automatic mode, so I've compensated for that when loading the images into Ulead PhotoExpress 3.0 (yeah it's about 25 years old but works bob on).
  4. Hi, the year is 2020, engine 2.0 Ltr Diesel. 150 BHP, Automatic, 7 speed ( I think) 7 seater. Ambition class. ...I'm still trying to figure out what is what, and how it works.. no AWD or 4x4 badges on the tailgate.....and definitely no rear drive axel , just the two rear wheels hanging on their independent suspension's. Thanks for your help !! Jim
  5. They fitted a set of four new tyres for me last week. Three were at 41psi and one was at 42psi 🙄 (Cold, the following morning). Should be 36psi. It’s even got a label on the B Pillar that’s easy to read. Gaz

I find on my Superb it's pretty sensitive, I recently got a warning saying one of the tyres had low pressure, upon checking it was only 2psi down from the other three, I would consider that reasonably accurate, pretty close parameter wise (based on wheel rotation - I don't have the active TPMS). Having said that I would consider having the direct system option on my next car if it's not standard (depending on the option price), currently £155 on the new Superb.

Before anything else, check the 12v battery condition. Even a slight drop in voltage can cause a variety of intermittent electrical gremlins in these cars.

  9. Hi

Thanks & Hi. My 2011 insignia estate is kappot (spun crank bearings). Hoping to build up knowledge on what to look for when buying a VRS Estate. Thanks
  10. Well after 14 years of Skoda ownership (Yeti, Karoq), we have jumped maker to Renault. Nothing quite interests us from Skoda at the moment, the Epiq looks promising but not around until 2027. What will we miss from the Karoq? The solid well built quality. The sensible dashboard and instruments layout. Amazing automatic matrix headlights The effortless and quiet motorway cruising. What will we not miss from the Karoq? The annoying screen messages (data management nearly every time we drive off, Android auto which only cancels for a minute, spurious update messages when you're driving saying you can't update whilst driving(!). The duff manual.
  11. Our new Skoda is having a lot of electronic systems issues and is going in tomorrow for the third time to try and diagnose what's happening. As some of the problems are with the collision warning and automatic braking systems amongst many. Could my insurers be a bit funny if I were to have an accident knowing the car is faulty?
  12. @Rigor , that is all infuriating. It seems as if modern cars are 'computers on wheels' and the dealers struggle, for many reasons, to understand what is going on. I hope you get this solved soon or choose to let go of the car as both the suspension and the fuel gauge are difficult to cope with. When we owned our Volvo XC60, our only car procured through Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), it came with Volvo's brand new 'engine architecture' which is marketing speak for a fresh engine design. Our car would trip into limp mode due to a design fault affecting thousands of cars. For 2.5yrs Volvo had no fix. Then, six months before our PCP ended, they fixed it. Sort of. Performance was blunted but at least it didn't trip into safe mode unexpectedly. And that was a Volvo. So called, bullet proof Volvo. The only saving grace was that our local Volvo dealer was excellent. Still is actually. Anyway, all the best with your Superb 🫣
  13. Hi, If your Kodiaq was an AWD, you should have the 2 following PR codes: G1D: Automatic transmission for AWD (so to say DSG7 type DQ381) 1X1: Four-Wheel Drive. If you go to your local dealer and ask fo the PR codes list (explaining your insurance story), they should be able to give you the complete list of PR codes of your own Kodiaq. With a FWD, your should get these 2 other PR codes: G1C: Seven-speed automatic transmission (corresponding to DSG7 type DQ380) 1X0: Front Wheel Drive I assume, this should be an evidence your insurance could rely on.
  14. This whole forum is a bad influence on me! I’ve got 3 multi item orders from Ali express en route, a couple from eBay, one from Amazon and one from a parts breaker in Czechia. So plenty more links to come…
  15. @Binx1310 "Links in my thread" You Sir are enough of a Bad Influence as it is,,,, ive ALREADY got stuff on order from links youve posted,,, and some of them were ordered BEFORE i bought the car 😇

Its is, interestingly I charged the battery today, cleared to faults with the engine running and so far they havent returned. Previously if I cleared them and ran it again the faults would come back.
  17. @Jim Reire What engine is it, Petrol or Diesel, what gearbox, manual or DSG, what year is it? Is it a 1.4 or 1.5 TSI?
  18. It's called progress 😂 To be fair, my Octavia Mk2 Elegance didn't have the option to change the lights so I'm not missing anything with the Mk4. As you have read through various posts in this forum you've probably already seen my comments. Initially I was all in favour of using the Eurolights stickers - that based on my first road trip (from UK to Tuscany) in the Mk4. So, full of confidence in my next few trips I was disappointed that after getting flashed several time by oncoming drivers, when I checked the lights against a wall, the 'uptick' of the lights was pretty much as normal; barely any adjustment. Fiddling with the stickers and double checking position I found that it has to be very precise (within a mm or two) - except there is precious little to go on. The headlight lens has no markings, and the diagram in the Eurolights pack only gives an indication. For the last few trips I have just adjusted the beam to the lowest setting; had no issues whatsoever other than the shorter reach of the headlights (only an consideration on open roads but nothing that moderating speed a little doesn't make up for). So, my suggestion would be try your Option 1, but fall back to Option 2 if, like me, you can't get the positioning spot on. In the UK there are so many cars with badly adjusted headlights and drivers who keep their lights on full beam (esp. on motorways and dual carriageways) that I'm almost tempted to say go for Option 5 (Do nothing) - but to do so would be irresponsible of me! EDIT: I have just had a thought - presumably the fitting location for a Eurolights sticker would be different on a light set up for a LHD car vs that for RHD even though the lights themselves look the same. Maybe that's where I went wrong with my later sticker - perhaps I had the LHD instructions? 🤷‍♂️ I need to investigate further. At least I have till October before my next trip.
  19. I'm in Ireland, and the equivalent document we have here to the V5 used in the UK is the Vehicle Registration doc, and that's currently with the Irish transport department to get the vehicle registered in my name. I should have it back by the end of the week, but just now, I'm dealing with the Insurance company..and according to their classification, my Kodiak is 7 seat, 4x4 AWD. But I'm reasonably sure that each type of vehicle has its own specification Nr? Thanks for your help, Jim
  20. Does the V5 document not give the correct drive system description?
  21. I'm back with a another update! Version 7 - Download the HTML to view. Notes: Here's the verified V7 chart. Click the amber banner at the top to see the full changes log. Thanks for the reply.. I dont actually want to do anything.... but as you are asking.... its a taxi and when my driver brought it back he mentioned that he thought the battery was playing up... so to do a quick test.. in case the belt was slipping..... I revved it... it was only then that I noticed the limitation on the revs ...
  23. 1 point
Good, what do you want it to rev to when stationary. Yes there is a limiter.
  24. I haven't, but I will now. Already drove a couple of hundred miles assuming they were right 😬
  25. Yes. That was the pressure to get the tyres on rims. They should then have been dropped in pressure and the fitter told you what they were at and asked if OK. Did they reset the TPMS and have you done it now?
  26. 1 point
Most new TPMS sensors have replaceable valve stems. So no need for a new sensor, so long as the garage has one. There are over 40 different types! 😯 Thanks. AG Falco
  27. Ah, sorry, you miss understand me. I am creating this list for everyones use, primarily i set it up for myself. If anyone can contribute or spot an error I would be grateful!
  28. It was not an official Škoda dealer But I’m getting there with it using information supplied in the forum
  29. 1 point
Even if the car has proper TPMS sensors, it may not be totally accurate. The BMW is insisting one tyre is 0.1 bar lower than the other, when I’m reasonably sure it isn’t. Still, 600 miles is a long way so maybe it’s gone down - I’ll give it some air tomorrow and see how it goes.
  30. Ah ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the info
  31. Good to hear the Superb served you well, I hope the Audi EV serves you just as well 👋
  32. Will pop in and out of the group to help wherever I can.
  33. Well don’t leave, we’ll all want to hear about life with the Audi too, And you still be able to help people out around here with your Superb experience
  34. Yes - truly wonderful. Didn't see an Albatross unfortunately. Very pleased to have seen this. Very distant and not the best photo, but chuffed nonetheless 👍
  35. Hi. It would be better for yourself if you started a new topic in the correct forum for your model (Octavia MkIII) Here's a link to direct you there where other MkIII owners can hopefully help out. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/235-skoda-octavia-mk3-2013-2020/
  36. After two years of software faults and three trips to the dealers, on every occasion they said everything was fixed, I have finally thrown in the towel Picking up a Jaecoo 8 PHEV today, cannot imagine it could possibly have so many problems! Last straw was when the front air vents broke, they ordered two new ones and three times I asked if they would have to take the dashboard out to fix them, and they were not sure. Picked the car up and they said software replaced at 'base level' and new vents fitted and that there should be no more problems. Drove home and checked the vents, still broken! (I know I should have checked before I left the garage) Phoned them and they said they had replaced the REAR vents! Why would I ask about the dashboard removal if it were the rears, totally useless dealers as usual. oh and the ignition came on when I opened a rear door later in the day , an original fault. btw the the mk3 superb I had a few years ago had no faults or problems in five years of ownership.
  37. I had this problem on my 62 plate fabia 105 tdi, changed the N75 valve less than £ 50 for new original on ebay, been great for a year now. Did try cleaning and hoses it lasted 4 months then came back. New N75 was the fix.
  38. Depends on the run and what of all the various electrical items you and the car were using, amperage of charger and other stuff. The chargers aren't intelligent (same as compters, AI, "phones", ect.) that's just marketing, they are extremely dumb just following programing. You're looking at three lots of programs and hardware andhaving these interact so which of the combinations is correct, how much variance(s) in the stand alone and combined systems. "Full" as measured how and to what, the existing capacity or original or program measurement of full, the battery might be as full as it can get now. Don't get too hung up on exact figures, go back to more of the old idea of an anolgue gauge with a needle, say a fuel tank guage, able to swing to a few markings, rather than 100 percentage numbers, and by quick glance you can tell if it's in about the right place for ususual.
  39. i was just checking out the "bulb upgades" that people have done 🤪 are you thinking of doing the fog lights too??
  40. Thank you for feedback Mario. I was afraid this might be the case.... a replacement light assembly required. Cheers.
  41. I did use the varioflex seating in my 2018 Karoq, removing all seats to deliver in Covid times. I have had no need since, never needing to remove a seat in my 2022 Karoq. Even im surprised by this.
  42. SEAT in general are winding down to a 2030 cease in production entirely in favour of Cupra so the Ateca ending production isn’t a big shock.
  43. How long the 12v battery lasts depends on the driver's use of the car's electrics and how and when it is driven. To extend the useful life of the battery and potentially prevent all sorts of unexpected warning lights and messages, unseen error codes and issues, it is best to do full (100%, s/s VW only goes to about 80% by programing) preventative recharges with an appropriate battery charger maintainer (doesn't have to be an expensive one). Recharge by following the instructions in the car's 'Owner's Manual' and for the charger maintainer. The engine not starting is only when the battery has been taken very low indeed well before that even if the headlights seem bright enough the battery can be in a too low state of charge for the computer systems that will then make you suffer with all all sorts of unexpected warning lights and messages, unseen error codes and issues. Loads of threads and posts for all the stop/start models on this site with the unexpected issues from having the battery too low for what the computers like. Batteries are expensive and there can be the additional cost and hassle of 'coding' the new battery into the car's computer system. A battery in good state of charge and health will help the car (and alternator) whereas one in a low state of charge and health can hinder in many ways. Number one reason for breakdown callouts is for battery and charging problems many of which would not have been the fault of the battery (or charging system). HTH.

Valve Stem kits for the Sensors are from £6 to £12 or so. Replacement sensors for my MG showing from about £25-£100. Just not got to my one yet to see what is what. When my Electric MINI was in at the BMW Dealers for it's service and Recall Actions i had on the winter wheels and tyres with no Sensors (i could have ordered with sensors @ just £155 extra) and the warning showing on the dash when at BMW. On the report it itemised TPMS,s required and quoted £2,500. EDIT. Fixed just valve stem kit needed, done for free by a mate.
  45. Thanks for the spelling corrections! On semantics, I always thought gaiter was something more flexible, such as the covering over the gear stick - in this instance I guess 'grip' would be the best descriptor for what I'm after. I saw that video, but unfortunately no sign of any such tab on mine
