Hi, It would help if you could tell us the model of Yeti you have - e.g. engine size petrol/diesel, manual/auto gearbox, front/all wheel drive. There are many permutations, so it's possible that the pipes you describe are not fitted to all models.
  2. Thanks guys, Some great feedback there. That gives me much more comfort & confidence.

I have spent a lot of time on this and made some progress. Firstly, for those who don't know (including my garage) the aircon drain tube exits into the transmission tunnel inside the drivers footwell, underneath the footrest ( same as Octavia (Screenshot_2019-05-22-21-35-34.jpg.9c10c83445932916cf97ab10ce1b31a2.jpg (1440×2560) Even though I had checked that water was draining from the scuttle under the windscreen, I took it all apart and found quite a bit! There was a build-up of debris (dense, like wet soil!) in front of the drain on the O/S, acting like a small dam. Just above there is a hole through the bulkhead, which should be sealed with a grommet - mine was missing. When I poured water onto the windscreen, which ran into the scuttle, it pooled in front of the 'dam' and whilst a lot went down the drain, quite a bit went through the hole into the drivers footwell just behind the accelerator pedal. I plugged the hole with a large amount of Bluetack, cover the whole area with Gaffer tapeand formed a really good seal - result no more leaking into car. I then removedthe mudflaps and prised the inner wheelarch covers away, to find a mass of 'compost' and dry leaves, mostly on O/S. Why this isn't part of the service schedule, say every 50k miles, I don't know. It would take a mechanic 10-15 minutes to do this and prevent a lot of problems. Having done all this andchecked the drain tube (shown in photo) was clear, I ran the car with aircon engaged and the drain tube end put in a bowl - water dripped in, so all seemed to be working, so reseated the tube end into the chassis hole and it then dripped out underneath the car. For the moment, I'm hoping it's all sorted. Placing towels etc. underneath the felt-type soundproofing under the carpets, to try to dry everything out. I'm now going for a beer and a lie down!!

  5. Patch Unit and you can use every SD Card
  6. So clean now. Its the steering rack or steering gear that is leaking not the engine. Amazing i had the low level light on the engine oil at the same time as i saw the leakage under the car. so two problem in one go. Anyone have any good guides on how to change the steering gear? Guess youtube have plenty. Thanks help all

Hi. I'm not the most car-savy person in the world, but I do enjoy my Skoda Rapid and aim to take good care of it. Nahum
  8. I am now confident that the dealer didn't contact Skoda UK. When I contacted Skoda UK they set up a case number and emailed Caffyns to arrange an inspection. They asked me if Caffyns had been in contact with me which they hadn't so Skoda UK emailed again and, again, Caffyns didn't contact me. The agent then tried ringing Caffyns but their numerous calls went unanswered and the only time they did answer they cut them off. They have now escalated it. I am still fully prepared for a drawn out argument with Skoda but so far they have kept me updated on a daily basis and are getting punchy with the useless local dealership.
  9. Mine stopped working. Eventually I discovered that I had switched off the ESC control, by pressing the button, which is behind the gear lever. No LED shows if it on or off. I turned it back on by entering the big service screen, and locating the menu.

After a two year gap on “other” brands, I’m back with my 7th Skoda, which will be a 2019 Superb Estate Sportline with a 1.5tsi DSG. Its main duties will be carting one or two MTB about (inside) and taking us, our Labrador and grandchildren in various combinations on days out and holidays. On the test drive for the Superb I realised that I’ve really missed the Kodiaq that I sold. I’m impressed with the DSG in the Superb compared to the one I had in a 2012 Octavia VRS. Seems a lot smoother, but perhaps I “enjoyed” the VRS rather differently. ACC and DSG is a very interesting combo in traffic. Can’t wait to try that out properly. Forum is still a great resource. Thank you. 😎
  11. New here just bought my first skoda
  12. Thanks.. the only real issue I had was getting the rubber boot back over my repair, but I did it and the boot operates as it should..How long for who knows...

Unless I'm missing something, aren't they supports for the exhaust rather than pipes?
  14. If you have Amundsen MIB2, you will need to use an official SD card. It may pay to get a 32gb replacement card if your original one is only 16gb.
  15. It was a very good car, particularly with the 2-series Volvo engine!
  16. Ha, that's going back a bit, I always wanted one of those, alot better looking than my 340 DL
  17. So after googling and a bit of youtube, had a look at the left hand side and found the green wire broken and the yellow on the way. Hadnt got any wire the same size and was a job to get the boot back over but two pieces soldered in with heatshrink and the boot now works as it should.. Will do for the time being, but will eventually get a couple of replacement struts when it goes again..
  18. @Warrior193 I ever had any showing of Automatic Gearboxes temperatures on the dash with any of the dozens if not hundreds of 2 pedal vehicles i have had since the 1970,s.. Plenty had a Overheating warning including VW Groups with a DSG or Tiptronic. Never had a VW Group vehicles with an TC Automatic.
  19. Thanks to all , ive got it booked in so i will reply on here when i find out what it was. (The garage suggested centre prop bearing was a common fault.) Alan
  20. Yeah this one's not huge as I think it's paired with the fiat 500x. Those mini countryman are definitely bigger and uglier

  23. There are microswitches inside the lock mechanism. These are a known issue within the group—specifically, the solder joints tend to break. When this happens, the trunk lighting or the Multi-Function Display (MFA) often starts acting up.
  24. You should be able to check the individual bytes/bits in your long coding using car scanner based on the vcds info above.
  25. I thought about the renegade, but the navigation system clue was throwing me way off 🤦🏼‍♂️
  26. I also considered it, as a taxi driver myself.. In the end i couldnt bring myself to go with such a small engine maybe im still a bit old school when it comes to electric too. My previous taxi was a fabia estate 1.4. I ran it for 7 year and i didnt have many issues but i always felt it wasnt robust enough, or designed for this constant work use.. I now have a MK4 octavia 2.0TDI 150PS. I do plenty of short journeys and some longer ones. Had it 12 months now and really enjoy driving it. Brilliant on fuel, comfortable, powerful enough and no concerns with the DPF/GPF thus far. I sometimes add fuel treatment and use premium diesel to help with that though.
  27. When I was waiting for my car after being repaired, I sat in a Scala in the showroom. It was really comfortable and a nice dash layout. Definitely something to consider at a later date.
  28. You would think it is their money. All they need to do is arrange the inspection and send the photos to Skoda UK. At this point your dealer has straight up lied to your face to save 10 minutes work.
  29. The irony in insisting that you report the corrosion "immediately", and then the stand-off with customer, the dealer, Skoda UK and the Motor Ombudsman then proceeds to last 3-4 years.
  30. When I was looking into it, I did find that even oil services include a body inspection, but it isn't there for the purposes of the body protection warranty and it isn't a requirement in order to make a claim. The extended scope servicing provides nothing that would materially change the situation, as it is all related to the mechanical parts of the car.
  31. Do you have anything in writing? If you don't, you don't even know the dealer submitted the claim to Skoda UK. The classic wait a couple of days and then call the customer back to say it has been declined trick, don't fall for that one.
  32. Nice evening one from our hotel in Menorca...
  33. Cheers for it lads, I recorded a video of what you helped me get done, and a segue into what I still have to do: https://youtu.be/vMaZPU-n_KE
  34. The question came up about RoW so we went back to 453 RoW.... we just need 473 😉. Why 450 series started to be talked about since 453 had been found but not 473 and @viper42 told me how to read off the navigation FeCs in the file. That had been a ten year quest of mine to fine where they were stored in the file, not that you can change them in the file but in the unit.

  36. mine is a 2025 2.0TDI DSG estate and I pull a Mayland Mariner with alot of water trapped in the floor! You have a"slushbox" which is great for edging forwards (compared with my DSG which has to engage a clutch each time it edges forwards in traffic), but heat buildup on long inclines would be your issue. I am sure the basic "OBDeleven 3" would give you your gearbox temperature, but you'd need to test it beforehand on the same hills to know whats normal, and find out the temp thresholds for your model of gearbox. The max temp is to do with the max temp the transmission oil can handle. I think on some slushboxes the final drive (top gear) is a locked up gear and this is the one you want engaged as much as possible on the motorway to reduce hydraulic heat buildup (ie. gives it the chance to cool down after an incline). Bear in mind that the "towing prep" at the factory is the installation of the "J345 Trailer Control Module" (in the case of my car). This changes software mappings in the engine/gearbox and the car can reverse without it thinking it is about to hit a trailer...
  37. thanks all for the comments... No idea if it has any factory 'towing prep' apart from stating GVM and towing values. Seems that I can get the euro style towbars that remove/rotate/hide as well as the hayman reese style with the square hitch - which is pretty much the local default, like https://haymanreese.com.au/products/towbar-to-suit-skoda-octavia-11-2013-on-03386rw Yes its a single axle, 5.5m trailer yacht. Is there a transmission temp sensor that can be monitored while driving ? or is it just a warning light that comes on when its too hot ? @Warriror193 - how heavy was your cruiser that you towed ? What did you tow it with ? Was it comfortable or stressful on the car ?
  38. Hi, Yeah so in final i changed piston rings ,honed block , timing belt + gearbox clutch after 1k km i changed oil + filter , now per 7k km i have added 0.5l 5w30 Oil
  39. New MHI2 P470 (2027) maps were released by VW. The content.pkg contains the following FECs/FSCs: 02300040 (Audi), 09300002 (VW), 08300002 (Skoda), 07300040 (Seat), 06300040 (Porsche), 03300040 (Bentley). This also means they'll run on Skoda no problem, as per usual. Link to the maps on the VW servers: https://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/Update_25_26/P470_N60S5MIBH3_EU.7z
  40. Just stumbled upon this, but seems not to have been resolved, so got curious. I'm a bit confused as the subject were "Lane assist coding" and ends with "VZE" and Traffic sign recognition. Having a Superb 3V, MY23 with 2Q0 camera, I know that Lane Assist can be done, but also pretty sure Traffic sign is not possible with pure coding if camera is a 2Q0 ( somebody please correct me ). The below pictures are a translate of A5 long coding, to pick out the right bit to change - hope it helps. It't based on the previous link https://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/12881/superb-2020-assist-coding-procedure
  41. I think that "he came, he asked a few questions and got some help" - now he has no need to bother!
  42. Sorry @Rafal78 I have a couple of health issues.
