So when I ordered the Enyaq back in March, the dealer took a gamble on allowing me to do so without committing to an order without a test drive. We've known each other and I've been buying cars from him ffor 21 years so there's a degree of trust there but still I wasn't sure when I started the test on Satruday night whether I would be happy with the car. After all I've come from driving a Tesla Model 3 which is supposed to be the best EV out there. So on Saturday I was handed the key to an Enuaq 60 iv the 58 kWh version, so it has a battery that's 11 kWh bigger than my model 3 but it's less efficient. On Saturday evening it was 11 degrees and returned around 3.8 m/kWh on a mix of motorway and A roads. On Sunday it was about 16 and it returned 4.5 m/ kWh (anythign above 4 is pretty good, but the Tesla used to give above 5 as it is a ridiculously efficient car). Bottom line, wow it's a good car. It's a real step up from the ID4 which I tested previously. The infotainment is fast and snappy and the 13 inch screen is really clear. It's not a rocket ship like a model 3 but it's got that noitcable ev punch that makes it feel faster than an ice car. And it's incredibly quiet. Noticeably quieter than the model 3. I only covered around 100 miles so I've not had masses of experience with it yet but the stand out feature for me is the adaptive regeneration. A lot of the reviews have said there's no one pedal driving. But the car reads the road ahead and works out whether it's best to coast or whether you need stronger regen. It works really well. It spots roundabouts and traffic lights and beefs up the regen accordingly. It does the same if there's a speed limit sign. It even spotted a 20mph sign where I was having to go through the central reservation into a contra flow. The car slowed automatically to 20mph. Very impressive. The two annoying features I found were there's no battery percentage, just a miles guesstimate (which seems very accurate thankfully). No matter where you look all you can get is the guesstimated range and a battery graphic showing how many bars of charge you have. And when you're charging it doesn't tell you what kW rate you're getting from the charger, just how many mph are being added. There's an app you can use to tell you this but I didn't set all that up for a test drive. It's bizarre that the sat nav shows you ev chargers and petrol stations though, maybe it's because they always have a shop you might want, or air for your tyres. I mainly used Google maps though. Or waze. I really just tried the car system for completeness. The voice commands were fine when using google but the Skoda ones (aka Laura) were a bit more slow and ponderous. Whereas with google you say "hey google, navigate to X", with the Skoda one you say navigate to X and she says "ok what's the city", then "what's the street" etc. It all worked way better than the system in the Tesla but I think I'll stick with Google unless I'm adjusting the aircon etc. So am I sold? Totally. It's comfy, quiet, has a huge boot and it's smaller than my model 3. It's got a 9m turning circle, close to a London taxi turning ability. My car has had lots of options selected whereas this one had nothing, it's the plain £32k car with zero options. If anyone is looking for a hatch back ev this is well worth a look. The dealer said that the Renault dealer next door remarked that this is just a couple of thousand more than a zoe, and went away looking worried 😂. I'll let you know yes it goes when my actual car arrives and I can play with things like the HUD. And as for the supercharger shot, it was juvenile but we were passing by and.... 😎

As the title suggests, after getting the tow-bar fitted it was time to take the Carré-du-Vin for a little jaunt. Had a wonderful weekend in York, and drank far too much wine on the banks of the river. I have to admit, I was HUGELY impressed with the Octy as a tow car, although I think I need to get the weight balance right on the caravan (Two gas bottles up front made it a bit nose heavy (but still under nose weight). The Cruise control made it a hugely relaxed experience, much more relaxed than my old Freelander, and having more than enough torque meant the car didn't struggle at all. Even better I averaged 27mpg whilst mainly on back roads.

2021 update OK, so slow progress for many reasons, but still tinkering with this one. Believe it of not, the engine is actually in the hole.. Fluids going in... Nice shiny mounts and solid shifter cable bushings.. Air intake and shield Interior back out as laying in the full Ibiza harness for total integration Kinda looking the part now. Cruise control (of course) Climatronic heating system in place and heated seat harness fitted One day it will be done, just don't ask me which one.

Fuel leak solved. A very small crack in the return inlet was responsible for the pooling of fuel over the pump. A bit of epoxy resin did the trick, as I'm not in the mood for shelling out (again) the near £300 they are asking for a new genuine pump where I live.

yes, absolutely. I would select this car again, over any available car in this budget. that's why I called it nitpicking With the small exception for travel assist, I can live with all these imperfections (especially because I hope my additional equipment packages will sort the issues). I just created this review, because every time I see how PERFECT this car is. And it's hard to disagree, but still, there is a field for improvements. I cannot wait to see my race blue on the driveway, wall box is ready!

A professional car thief will take a car they are targeting with or without Kessy. The difference if you were to be getting the car back is the damage they do or lack of damage.

In which case you might get an improvement just from new same make/model tyres, and more from a different make.

No, I'm on Bilstein B12's with polybushes and a RARB, every part of my suspension is brand new so it's the wheel and tyre combo, not the chassis that's crashy.

Mine has arrived in the Port of Tyne, is due to be moved to the dealer this week and may well be ready for collection on Saturday or Sunday!! very exciting.

Reset Oil service, 2016 MY17 190 DSG L&K Kessy, varible service interval. Different methods found on the net, many do not work on my car, but this one worked for me.. Sit in car, all doors closed, ignition off, footbrake off. Press and hold trip reset button, press and release start button (kessy key in pocket)... do not press brake pedal, when display shows oil service reset release trip reset button, press start button to switch ignition off, start as normal. Check service staus and oil service should be reset. I could not find any easy way to reset using VCDS. Hope this helps others.

Batteries don't really come with the BEM code anymore I your battery manufacturer doesn't show up on the list just enter any old 3 letter code (i used part of the batterys model name YBX9027 so i put YBX as the manufacturer id), it's primarily to make it more clear that the battery has been coded in to anybody else looking at it The serial just enter whatever the serial number of the battery is, if it's too short, add extra zeroes at the start or something, again it's not important exactly what it is, as longas it's different as when the BMS sees the new serial number it treats it as a new battery to relearn.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with this... Yeah...I'm still just with the 10 year time frame (til September, I think) but it's been a few years since it was serviced/inspected by a franchised dealer. However, it can't hurt to ask. Can you still buy new tailgates you think?

I first read that as 'You need to continually test the wires to check this'............. I thought 'that will be an ongoing job then', Lol.

Sorry for me causing confusion by not quoting the OP who I was answering and commenting on and asking about their cars suspension.

I used a bluetooth obd dongle called "VeePeak OBDCheck BLE+" it's available on amazon for around the £40 mark. As for the app, i used the following one (im on iOS i dont know if it's the same on Android);

The tyres are hardly low profile but as it is going to 195,s and more sidewall will be a simply clever move. That might deal with the noise a bit. 16" wheels can hardly be considered as big. Maybe the 11 year old suspension parts have something to do with the harsh ride rather than the tyres which are the size many cars of a similar weight have fitted. ? Is the car still using the OEM suspension parts?

Had to google e-TEC, but that looks like very useful tech to have for economical driving. Really like that idea!

You'd be better off buying a set of 15's with 195/50/15 tyres if you're finding the 16's too crashy, you can sell the 16's easily once you've done the swap. I found 16's too crashy on the B roads I drive on and fitted 15's, much more comfortable and the handling is even better. Big wheels are for billiard tables and townies.

There isn't much to it really, you have 6 wires you need to connect: - white is permanent 12v, it should have it's own fuse (probably 7.5a in position 18) and the crimp maybe the correct one to slot into the fuse board - brown is ground, it probably has a ring crimp and any ground point it fine - the two twisted orange (and brown/purple) cables are CAN-bus and need matching to the existing colours - the separate black wire is video, black is likely ground and white is signal, it connects to the blue socket as shown in the image you posted The coloured sockets are removable from the quadlock and will slide out when you push the locking tab. Once they are out, the sides flip open allowing you to add or remove wires. For the CAN-bus: - the original CAN-bus wires will need removing from the grey socket - they will now go to the new black connector included in the pack, it's probably loosely slotted in - the two new wires can then slot in to the grey socket - connect the black connector up So it'll look sorta like this:

Hopefully the bottom end of your engine survived the loss of oil pressure or are you going to replace the big end etc?

Finally the issue resolved. The sump was replaced with a new one and the reason why dipstick was dry is because it was pushed upside as the puncture was right below the dipstick area. Broken parts of the sump prevented dipstick to go down to its full depth. For reference I am attaching a pic of punctured sump. Once the sump was replaced and oil was filled, dipstick showed the reading as it was supposed to.

It has always been one of my dream cars, so I wasn’t going to turn down a drive! Effortlessly, ballistically, fast, see a gap, lightly prod the throttle and the gap is 200m behind you. All in total luxury. Love it! Anyone fancy loaning me $227k?

Correct; they use the same fluid reservoir. Now go and use "bleeding brakes Skoda Octavia" as a search string on Youtube.

A Skoda dealer will only be able to apply the FeC's applicable for the VIN so they won't be able to change the map region FeC for you. @pab567 might be able to help though...

I p/x my 2013 Octavia Mk 3 for a 2016 Superb Exec. with 17 inch wheels last May. I was disappointed with the soft suspension, especially over speed humps. So I purchased Bilstein B6 shocks, and my independent workshop installed them for £240. Great difference with original springs, and the car is now a delight to drive. Insurance company ok'd change. Thanks to those who reported on Bilstein's in previous posts.

As someone with a device that would benefit from @Tell’s information, I find it good to know there’s a solution available - even if it isn’t quite straightforward. Unfortunately I doubt whether I will be progressing down that route as I don’t even use the standard installed SEAT maps enough to truly benefit.
