I can count on one hand the amount of times the built in sat nav has re-routed me. It always says queuing traffic in x amount of miles but never offers an alternative. It is really basic compared with other systems. The POI function in my opinion is only good for larger organisations. If I need to find a smaller one I have to find it on Google & then put in the post code on the system. Is the Columbus system any better?

No. I've done it myself. If you run into trouble just delete any files on the disk & copy the old one's back. If you're using a Mac then you need to use a program to remove some files which get added & cause display problems. Others can advise better than me if you have this problem.

You don't have to format the card. Just back up the old data, delete the old files & copy the new one's onto it. Plenty of info available in this forum on how to download the files & unzip them to the card.

Are you getting the readings from the display in the car or taking your own readings by filling the tank to the top, zero the trip counter, drive till nearly empty and then refill to the top?. Calculate the consumption that way.

Can you contact the previous owner & ask what modification has been done?. Why would you want them on during the day?. Or, is there a fault with the circuit board & they are receiving a small amount of power just to illuminate them?.

Without wanting to rain on your parade, there seem to be a few marks near the front number plate. Colour is good though.

Take my feedback as tongue in cheek. I do agree the system is inferior & lacking in functions compared to other systems, although I've never had problems with postcodes. For me, it's just convenient to have a built in system.

I think you're the first poster so say the Octavia is too quiet.

If it's coming up to around 5 years old you should look into getting the cambelt & water pump changed. Mine is DSG & there is plenty of power for normal driving & to be able to slip it into sports mode quickly can aid overtaking.

If you're lucky, something may start to rattle or come loose and then you can see if that clip should be holding that piece.

Of course it will. Just take a longer time depending on outside temperature

The car is very sensitive to road surfaces. There are many threads in this forum on soundproofing. Be thankful you don't have the "booming" problem as well.
