  1. That's all very well as far as it goes, but I've seen claims that road damage increases as the fourth power of axle weight from as long ago as the 1970s. I don't think you can blame the Daily Heil's present anti-EV agenda for those!
  2. That's correct, but ESP has no effect on which type of brake fluid you need.
  3. Not a scooby, not least because you've not seen fit to actually tell us which headlights you have.
  4. Makes me think "new calliper or wheel cylinder", not ABS pump.
  5. Works: variable service is really only for cars that do high mileages of extra-urban cruising. Incidentally, from the photo you don't live in the UK? Knowing which country you lived in would have let us give data better personalised to your circumstances, like distances in kilometres rather than miles.
  6. @Lutak64 As @petrolbloke says, with the note that if you more or less trust the vendor you could leave the oil (and filter) change for 10months/8_000 miles from this message (which is time stamped).
  7. EuroKNEECAP in "actually sensible decision" you mean?
  8. Well yes. And answering the supplementary in advance when you change the clutch slave that puts more pressure on the clutch master with similar effects.
  9. Maybe not what I thought then; when I had similar symptoms the outside ambient temperature sensor was completely FUBAR and would go from +30C to -20C or back in about a minute.
  10. I see you have a vRS; what temperature is the outside temperature mode on the computer reading?
  11. I've some notions, but would want a VCDS reading.
  12. @lerdi22 - As mac hints, it would be helpful if we could get the trim level (probably oval badge on front wings near the repeater indicators) and engine tune (can be derived from an exact description of the TDi badge on the tailgate; for example TDi would be a 130bhp engine tune, but the colour of each letter is significant.
  13. See that and raise the time one newspaper appeared with a masthead reading "The Grauniad".
  14. I most sincerely hope not, not least because I lived though a previous period where people illegally fitted rear fog lights as "extra brake lights."
  15. @MattBon I'm in total agreement with @Papez now, but wanted to check whether the issue was motor electrics (it is) or a worn-out speed controller before spending your money.
  16. As @vucko1011 implies, the fan speed controller is directly behind the knob that you turn. You say it "doesn't work": was this a gradual degradation with the most used speed failing first, or did it just suddenly pack in completely? I have 2 ideas for the most likely failure and the answer to this question will tell me which is more likely in your case.
  17. Also @wyx087 As an example, most of the houses on my side of my street have about as much solar as we can physically fit; very few houses on the other side have any. On my side the South side is the back of the house and on the other side it's the front, so we can fit solar without it affecting the appearance of the house from the street, but they can't.
  18. Not exactly; you post the risqué? (guess that's what you meant) photo in the spoiler box created by using the control.
  19. Ah but you can, at least for your recent posts. Click on the ellipsis (...) top right of your post that you want to edit. You'll be presented with a 3 item menu, Report, Share and Edit. Now press the Edit item. The "spoiler" control works the same sort of way as bold, italic, underscore and strikethrough, but... So press on "reveal hidden contents" to see what's in the box.
  20. Wait until it actually fails. It may not even get an advisory next year.
  21. You should always replace dampers in axle sets, not individually.
  22. Flat-12 (but let's not go there with whether or not the engines are true boxer motors or 180Vs).
  23. Straight 5 diesels, straight 8s, V and W 16s...
  24. V3 (three) 2-strokes.
